This modem is great for my quaint home and was easy to set up with my wireless and cable company. It reaches all of the rooms in my home as well as the sun porch. When the lines get crowded at peak usage times, I have not noticed much of a lag, very little if any.
Overall a good purchase and a good modem for my needs.

Satisfied, but not satisfied with Comcast

Recently I upgraded from Comcast Performance internet with speed up to 25 Mbps at $49.95/monthly to Comcast Blast with speed up to 100 Mbps at $49.99/monthly for 12 month term. In other words I was to get “up to 4 times” my previous speed for just 4 penny’s more monthly, a no brainer . Since all my devices ( up to 7 at any time ) are connected wireless ( WiFi ) I decided to replace my old Surfboard SB6121 modem and CISCO Linksys E1000 router for the Netgear AC1600 Router with Cable Modem. Installation of the Netgear was a breeze and I did have to call Comcast to inform of my new equipment.
At present running OOKLA speed test with host “Comcast, Miami Fl”, located 16 miles away my average download speed is 19.5 Mbps. Before the upgrade to Comcast Blast my typical download speed was 14.75 Mbps. This represents a increase of 5 Mbps for 4 penny’s more per month for 12 months term ( 1 year contract ).
Now running the “Xfinity” Speed test I get a download speed test result of up to 64.6 Mbps using the same host “Comcast, Miami Fl”. Why such a huge difference in download speed between OOKLA and Comcast Xfinity Speed Test result, I will leave to the experts.
What is important at this moment is my actual online experience which I have to state that I am experiencing a minimum decease in respond time ( hardly noticeable increase in speed ). Usually I see no change in performance from “Comcast Performance” to “Comcast Blast”.
I am satisfied with the Netgear70. It is occupying less space and hasn’t had any difficulty since installation. My personal opinion, we are paying way to much for internet access.

I live in a small duplex and this reaches both floors without any issues while multiple devices (as many as 6) are connected simultaneously. I’ve had it for a couple months now and not had to reset it once. The one provided by Xfinity had to be reset twice in one week before I ditched it for this one.

Got this modem/router because i was tired of paying comcast 10+ dollars a month for rental fee of theirs. Paid $129 for it which was a steal! Compact and slim not bulky and bright like comcast. Also on speed test 129 mbps compared to comcast 89 mbps. Paying for 100 mbps. Which means their modem is slower than this one.

Fast in line with bandwidth, good signal (for a small apartment) secure, reliable, well-packaged and works with all major US providers. Haven't tried the app but starting security functionality is good.

We wanted to get rid of the Xfinity rental fee and returned their modem in exchange for this Netgear. This thing is awesome. Our speed of internet picked up and our range in the house increased as well. We are extremely pleased with this purchase. I would highly recommend this product to save on the Xfinity rental fee.

Great modem / home wifi. It was up and running in about 10 minutes. I haven't had any problems with it. Works great with mediacom, without having to pay them a 10.00 a month rental on there equipment.

I bought this because I was tired of paying Comcast's monthly router rental fees. I couldn't be happier with the product. Set up was simple, and I haven't had any issues. It's easy to monitor performance and any updates from the app. Great product!

I was going back to Xfinity and didn't want to pay the monthly lease fee for the modem, so I bought this. I have used Netgear in the past and was never let down. As with this unit, it was easy to hookup, set up, and get operational.
Wired, I get 150 to 180 down. Wireless when I am in the same room or any room next to it, I get 100+ down. 2-3 rooms away, I get 50-75 down. Outside, I switch to the 2.5 ghz connection and I can walk all over my back yard, work in my garage, pretty much anywhere within 100 feet of my house and I stay connected. Unit has a pretty good antenna.
One feature I like is that there is a Wifi on/off button on it. This works great at night to drop the WiFi so my kid won't get up in the middle of the night and play Xbox.
Overall, it is great. Does everything I need it to and gives me the speed I want from my Xfinity plan. BTW, when I last had Xfinity and used their equipment (2 years ago), their modem did not give me the speeds that I was paying for. This one does.

This was easy to install, took less than 30 minutes. It works great and it replaces the cable box-so I can return it to them and pay less!
We previously had a NETGEAR router that lasted over 8 years so decided to stay loyal to the brand, glad that we did.

Works great so far; I'd give it 5 stars for function...only took one off because of its looks and how it has to be set up...don't believe it can be mounted on the wall for example. I would have preferred a separate router and cable modem yet for the price and performance, this was hard to beat. I would buy it again.

Bought this router for my friends. They have 7 people in their house, all of whom use the wifi pretty extensively for streaming video and gaming. This router has done a fantastic job.
The only negative is the range, its plenty for most homes but their house is a little big so we needed a range extender to cover everything.
I know a lot of routers have this these days, but I am a huge fan of the push connect. I was at the house recently with a new laptop, while they were all at work or asleep. And then I realized I didn't remember the password. But I was still able to connect.
