Device was super easy to set up and get configured! And made a huge difference! I live in an old apartment built back in the 70s and it has concrete walls so Wi-Fi coverage was not good towards the back of my apartment since my Wi-Fi router us towards the front. This extender made my coverage so much better and now I have consistent coverage all over the house and Internet doesn’t drop! Highly recommend!

WiFi wasn’t reaching upstairs very well, so I bought this mesh extender. Now I get the same speed upstairs as downstairs. Installation was easy, but I did have to experiment with putting it in 3 different plug locations before I found one that worked best. Good experience for much less $ than buying a completely new mesh system to replace my standalone router.

The extender works great! The installation instructions were very simple to follow. It looks sleek and unobtrusive in my dining room outlet too. I feel more confident with our WiFi capabilities now.

Not a big tech guy here. I just needed a stronger signal from my router that was located in the basement (long story). This gadget did the trick. It was very easy to get going. The app worked as it should. No hang ups. I’m actually contemplating getting another one so I can hardwire to it. Something I picked up on YouTube.

The extender worked as expected! Setup was easy. I like the WiFi mesh system it will jump between the router and the extender without any hesitations. The netgear app worked well with set up. Btw I also have this paired with a nighthawk AC1900.

Bought this yesterday since I needed to move my older Orbi CBR40 router to a room in the corner of my house, and my connectivity at the other end of ~3,000 sq. ft. was not as fast as it was previously. As soon as I installed the extender (which was a breeze) in the stairwell directly in the middle of the house, my download speeds jumped from 114 mbps to 184 mbps in the basement and off of the deck on the other end of the house. Also, after the setup, you still only have to connect to your original wireless network (i.e. it doesn't spin up another network that you would need to switch back and forth from) which makes it seamless. Doesn't take up much room either and still works 'upside down' since all of my outlets are flipped due to code in my area. All in all I am completely satisfied!

I’ve been using the extender for over a month now and I have to say I’m impressed by its performance. I’m forced to use DSL and it’s not even fast DSL (I live in rural Maine, so I’m lucky I’m not back on HughesNet). I wanted to drop DISH and use a streaming service, but my Samsung Tizan smart TV couldn’t maintain a good WiFi connection. I had used an older extender that only boosted 2.4GHz and I hadn’t seen any real improvement. I live in a 960sq ft ranch. Not a huge house for coverage. I decided to give a range extender another chance before I dropped DISH.
Installation was straight forward and only took a few minutes. It was far less complicated than the other model I used before. This extender is also able to boost 5GHz too. I’ve never been able to consistently use that speed due to its range limitations. I stressed tested the connection and used the 2.4GHz for the streaming service for 3 days straight and used the 5GHz for my computer, Switch, IPad, IPhone, etc. I also live in a cellphone dead zone so I rely on my WiFi connection to make calls. All worked well and I never had a hiccup with the streaming or cellphone services. I was able to say goodbye to DISH and save myself considerable money each month.

Our older home has tons of brick and masonry walls that seem perfectly designed for blocking wifi signals. We had tried various solutions over the years including the use of wifi extenders, but with limited success. We then solved the problem with a Netgear Orbi mesh system, which works great throughout the house. But, there was still a dead area outdoors...
We wanted to have reliable wifi signal to an outdoor security camera, and the brick walls just weren't permitting that. After some research, and trusting Netgear products, we got this AX1600 extender. In short, it works perfectly and extended the wifi signal where it needed to go. Instead of having to buy another mesh system satellite ($$$) that takes up a fair amount of room, this one is a straight plug-into-an-outlet type that saves space, money, and headaches. Simple to set up, practically plug and play.
One great thing about the AX1600 is that it uses the same router name and password as the router, so you don't need to hassle with those stuped 'NAME_EXT' kinds of things I've seen (and had to use) before. Instead, it just adds another spot to the mesh system. Pretty cool, especially since it works so well.
This extender also has easily visible feedback on the front to tell you how well it's receiving signal. Ours is green all the time, indicating strong signal, so that's great, and the outside device is reliably connected these days.
We're very happy with this extender, and are kind of amazed at how well it solved the problem!

These boosters do a good job expanding your home WiFi coverage area, but they can be a bit fiddly to get up and running, and can drop out of the network from time to time. You will need to become proficient with the NightHawk app to get set up and keep this system running. It is not really a "set-and-forget" system in practice. Still, you can find the refurbished boosters for a great price, and the one I have works as well as my full-price unit. I would likely buy this system again, as I just needed better reception across my house, and don't do a lot of heavy gaming or intense streaming or uploading. Pretty much surfing and email, and this system works fine for me.

Very easy and simple set up. It does take up a considerable amount of outlet space, so to avoid any accidental unplugging I found an outlet that I didn't mind not using. But the range and signal strength are good. I've got a 2,200 square foot house and this combined with my router covers the whole house.

I recently switched from cable internet to fiber-optic. I needed to boost the WiFi signal from the modem/router to the upstairs portion of my home. I researched a variety of Mesh Extenders and found the NETGEAR AX1600 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender to be rated the best of the best. So, I bought it. It has exceeded my expectations from the ease of setting it up and marrying it to my new internet modem/router to the exceptional signal strength it creates to the upstairs portion of my home wheee before hand I had little to no signal at all. I highly recommend to anyone who needs a WiFi extender to purchase this NETGEAR AX1600. It will pay for itself in just a few months and pay dividends afterwards by not having to pay a monthly rental fee to your Internet provider in perpetuity.
