I had issues from the beginning, we thought it was the internet speed but then I started using Netflix on my computer and it worked great. Basically it just stalls, and shuts down a lot. It was only $35 so I guess you get what you pay for but I would spend a little more next time and get something nicer

Streaming is choppy. Not much free video's. Even if there were, i don't think the streaming would be any better.

I would not recommend anyone buying this product unless you just don't have enough money for the Roku 3. It simply doesn't compare to the ease of the Roku 3. I was spoiled by the Roku 3 and bought this cheaper device for our bedroom. Big mistake, I took it back within the week. No problems returning it, but a waste of time.

Spent over one hour with telephone tech support, before tech support suggested returning it and upgrading to a higher model. Had to re-install the software every time the television was turned on.

    Five Stars Performance for Price

I have a small home office setup in a spare bedroom. I had no physical way to stream to my little Dynex 19-inch TV that I have sitting on a small file cabinet next to my desk. I installed this NeoTV unit just to have a little Netflix or Pandora going on in the background and it really hits the spot. I was initially a little worried about lack of a true setup guide in the box but you don't need it. You really don't. Unit immediately went into setup mode from the start. It's a typical "cursor keyboard" arrangement to select and enter network passwords, service subscriptions, etc. Once done, it immediately notified me of an available software upgrade. One little hiccup on setup and software update but I think that was probably a fat-finger on my part. No real problems at all. Very easy. When I first started to stream Pandora and Netflix, both stuttered 2-3 times for just a second for the first 30-60 seconds, then smooth as silk from there on. I don't know how long this little gadget will last but right out of the box it works just perfectly and for $37 on sale, beats the heck out of buying a Blu-Ray player or a Roku unit if all you need is streaming.

Got this set top box because of the price. Just wanted something for streaming Netflix. It does hook up easy and have good picture quality. The bad part is the remote does not work very well. Maybe my aim is not as good as it once was. But if you want something for Netflix this is it.

Set up is easy and fast, all the programs work, but its extremely slow. I don't like the layout and format of the you tube channel either. The remote is the worst part about it. You have to push the buttons a bunch of times to register and logging in is a pain in the neck because of this. Were returning this today and getting a Roku one.

I got this on black friday so I've had this about a month now. I was just looking for something cheap to watch netflix on in my bedroom. Works like a charm and was very easy to set up. For those saying it freezes up all the time, they probably need a better router. I uprgaded my router about a little over a month ago and I have not had a problem. My only complaint is the remote. Basically it sucks and I can't really explain how, but if you get this you'll understand. Just the way the buttons are on it and how it isn't very responsive. However, they offer a remote control app for android and iOS. I downloaded the app for my android phone and it works awesome. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Great Streamer for the Electronically Challenged

I bought this and did not have a clue about media streamers(Best Buy Employees helped me- Love THEM).. I love this product. Took it out of the box plugged it in and entered my router information and that was it.. I'm using the WiFi instead of hard wired and its great. Have had no issues with interruptions.. Streams instantly no wait time.. All the programs it came with are excellent. The only small negative comment is the remote.. But I was able to download an App on my phone and that is now my remote.. which is wonderful.. So for the price this is an outstanding product if all you want to do is watch movies and listen to music..

My nephew who is stuck on ROKU just happen to show up when I arrived home and was really impressed with all the connections supplied on a unit in this price range. After setup, the remote does have a learning curve, but the instructions do make note of the lock feature between one side (the keyboard) and the other side ,the actual selection controller. I have only had this system for three days but - movies, games and youtube videos were watched flawlessly. My wife needs a little time to decide if she can live without paid services - Verizon / Cable - , can really save some money. I AM SOLD and I think my nephew will be too after he tries the storage shareing feature.

Never a single problem in 3 months!

I have had this for just over 3 months now. I got it for my bedroom because I decided to finally cancel my cable because I never watch it. I primarily use it for Netflix and Pandora. It never freezes up on me and I can watch full Netflix movies that fully load within seconds. I love that there is an app for my iPhone that I can use as a remote. I wish the app would turn the unit on though so I wouldn't have to depend on the remote at all. So far I have had no connectivity issues except when it's been my routers fault, not the NeoTv unit. This has been the best purchase I've made in a long time and I'm saving $100/month by cancelling my cable!

Works well for the price but don't expect 1080p

Bought this to watch streaming video via Netflix. Using my laptop was a pain so I decided to try this. Set up was easy but quickly found there was no way I was going to get 1080p out of it: this unit's data link speed is too slow. Switched to 720p and Netflix streamed just fine. The unit has hung up a couple of times but I haven't yet decided whether this is too much of an inconvenience. I have another 25 days to make up my mind. The unit offers a host of value-added internet services you can your throw money at. I wish there was a way to setup my own URL's that are not part of the feature set - or if there is, I can't figure it out. Keep in mind this is the bottom rung of this product type so don't expect it to work perfectly outside the lab. If you decide to go for a more robust - and more expensive - unit, I think you should expect better performance. If you experience the same problems with a more expensive unit, get your money back.

Quick Setup Easy to Navigate Decent Quality Picture (1080 doesn't seem to work well) Streams shows on Netflix,YouTube,Hulu etc without issue @ 720 Seems to have issues with multiple shows in a row, or movies, and will freeze, quit playing, or return home YouTube app always signs me out I'm hoping one of the many updates fixes these issues

    Not worth the money

I purchased this as a black friday deal on November 26th, 2012 and so I have given this product a fair amount of time to know that it is not a good product by any stretch of the imagination. The product is simple to use as in, you hook it up, connect it to the wi-fi and you're good to go, but that's where the praise ends. My girlfriend and I have had nothing but issues with this thing, and if I still had the receipt, I would take it back for a refund. This thing is TERRIBLE; it says it is receiving an "excellent" signal, but keeps taking a very long time to load up a show on my netflix queue and will randomly freeze up and I have to physically unplug it/ plug it in again to make it work. I would say I experience this about 60% of the time. I use this thing EVERY day for Netflix, so I've given it lots of chances to perform and it constantly lets me down. You can stream from your computer/laptop with the pro version, which I wish I would have known before buying this (like I need MORE reasons to tell you not to buy this) but I'm sure that doesn't work right, either. The menu navigation is a PAIN. It's slow, barely responsive and the remote only works when you are pointing it DIRECTLY at the box, so the box has to be sitting as close to you as possible and it has to be in a direct line to you so you can use the remote. Not at all like other streaming devices, which can be mounted on the back of your tv and out of sight. I cannot recommend enough that you DO NOT PURCHASE THIS. It's a waste of money and a waste of time. Save yourself some headaches down the road and just buy something else.

I don't know why I've seen any negative reviews on here at all. Picked this up last week so I could stop having to use my Xbox for netflix to cut down on power and having to sign into XBL and such. Setup was a breeze, navigation is simple and they even offer a free app remote control for smartphones (Android and Apple) that you can opt to use over the supplied remote. Usually fall asleep to netflix on the sleep timer, great for the price!

This product is absolutely amazing. I have bought this for my living room television. Setup was very easy. Netgear has released many updates to make the device perfect. My only complaint is that the device can get very slow at times.
