We were told it was plug & play. It took awhile to setup & required a phone call as well. So far it is faster then what we had.. confused as to why we have two log ons..

I needed a reliable modem/router for my small business home and a tech representative recommended this Netgear at one of the best router to fit my needs and it was .

With my old router from the phone company I wasn't able to get wifi in the basetor the master bedroom but with the nighthawk I have full wifi signal in both places.

Pretty simple to install. The Netgear site is very helpful and user friendly. The Netgeat Genie app is very useful as well while showing the map of who is on your network.

After several years the dsl modem supplied by Verizon was having issues - I was having to reboot it every week to ten days. What a pain! Simple plug and play and the Nighthawk was working perfectly! Better WiFi range than the original modem and 5G band to boot!

This replaced a DSL router that had died. Granted, the DSL router was super old. But, this new one is waaaay more powerful. Connection speeds are significantly faster and more powerful. Well worth the purchase.

Powerful signal for multiple users. Should be easy to install. Customer service is not strong in English language so phone conversation was difficult.

Way better than Verizon's supplied modem. It was not one of the ones that were hacked thank goodness unfortunately it will be discontinued soon

Have only had the product for a couple of months, but so far, it's working very well. Easy hookup, too. Would have preferred a smaller physical size, tho.

Was very difficult getting it to work with my AT&T microcell. Took many hours and many phone calls with Netgear and AT&T to finally resolve all issues i hope. Just got everything up and running and i hope without any more issues. Have been working on these issues since purchasing it in Nov. 2016. Probably would not have had many issues if i didn't have to have the AT&T microcell for cell phones. Product is good, but for me there were exceptional issues. Both Netgear and AT&T reps were very professional, but some Netgear reps did not know their product very well.

We were having problems with one computer that was unable to play POGO. With this unit, the computer can play all games. We have 1 desktop, 2 phones, 1 IPAD, 1 Laptop and a smart TV all connected to the router. There are no problems at all.

I previously utilized the service providers wifi modem but I had terrible reliability and poor bandwidth thru the wifi. When I switched to Netgears Nighthawk (Best Buy salesman reccomended) my reliability went to 100% and my bandwidth went up 4X.

Stays connected to WiFi most of the time lots better than old router

This router has a builtin ASDL modem which is compatible with my Bellsouth (AT&T) non-Uverse cdonnection. I refuse to upgrade to the newer U-Verse protocol becuase my house alarm requires a POTS (plain old telephone) connection. As for the router, the strong point is the software. Netgear Genie allows me to see what's going on with my crazy home network. I can see the TIVO machines and the Smart TV's and my Ipad's and my MacBooks and all that which is comforting. Now I want to say that the Wireless ac 5G protocol is not strong enough in the bedroom. I had that problem with an Apple Time Capsule router. My wife begged me to disconnect it! Whatever it is, the newer AC protocol doesn't drill through the walls. However, my internet connection is 5Mbs and the older 2.4 GHz b/g/n protocol handles up to 600Mbps so that's no problem.

This modem / router was purchased because I thought my other modem died on me and my old router is a crummy 802.11n router. Yuck, who needs that? This new router replaced both at once, which was nice, as I didn't have to pay rent on a modem any longer. So far, it's worked well enough. The WiFi is stronger and faster than the old one. The modem seems to work quite well. So this has been a good purchase. I am not going to rave about the router, but it works well. If nothing else, I have no complaints, which is rare enough in itself for me.

Options for a DSL modem are limited as it is old technology; however, this model performs much better than the phone companies modem.
