I was told this was the router needed for a dsl and I think it fits my needs.

Its able to connect multiple devices as there is four of us in the house with smart phones, laptops, ipads and smart tvs!! My old router would only allow 10!

We bought this to replace the aweful combo router/modem that the internet company supplied us. It definitely is an upgrade. I would highly recommend it.

We were experiencing issues with spotty wifi connections! It was time for a new modem/router(whichever one it is) I'm not techno saavy, but it solved our issue!

I received the Nighthawk Modem Router (D-7000) at no cost as part of a Netgear evaluation program. The initial installation caused me some problems as it would not connect from the “Quick Start Guide to my Century Link provider. The “Netgear Genie” could not connect automatically and based on protocol information from Century Link I could not connect manually. I contacted Netgear and their tech service helped me get the protocol correct. The first things I noticed is that, installed in the same location, it was markedly faster than my older Westell modem and I had a solid “5-bars” rather than my previous “4-bars”. I have 2 computers, 2 printers, a tablet, and cell phone scattered around my home. All are connected wireless and I have no conflicts or problems since my installation. I recently had an opportunity to get an unusual test. My neighbor, one house down and across the street, about 150 feet away, had a guest that wanted to use his tablet and she could not remember her password for him to connect. I gave him my password, which I have since changed, and he was fine with 4-bar reception from the D-7000 modem. The Nighthawk, is not inexpensive, but I would defiantly recommend it for the performance and power. It will eliminate the need for an extender in most cases. I am not using the 5.0 GHz so I have not evaluated that feature.

Too good for ATT dsl can't stay connected. Att signal not strong enough. Had tech at house two times and was not products fault. I spent is problem.

I wanted to combine my old modem and router with a more powerful router. The Nighthawk now allows me to use my laptop anywhere in my housw.

We replaced our Frontier modem/router with this modem/router. This one stays connected where the Frontier one kept loosing it's connection.

Would have liked a stronger signal throughout the house.
