Purchased this about three weeks ago to replace an older unit. This router is easy to setup and very fast. It gets great range, I have around twenty devices connected and no drops yet. The only down side is the cost, but you get what you pay for :)

This is an excellent router, I have nothing bad to say about it with the exception that its about the size of a Playstation 4 but with antennas. It's HUGE! Netgear's best stock software that I've seen, it has the best coverage I have seen on a home router. The biggest negative is the price point. 400$ for a home router is bonkers... that being said, it does everything it claims very well.

Not being a network geek, I have struggled setting up routers in the past. This one is not only the most powerful and feature-rich router I have owned... It was also the most user-friendly to setup and use. I pretty much utilize all the features it has to offer. Can monitor and make changes from my iPhone/ipad through the use of the available App. Would highly recommend this product!

I bought this unit originally because it had extra ethernet ports, 6, which I needed as the central hub of a complex and large home system with several outlying wireless access points. The unexpected range of this router made it--almost--able to serve the entire 12,000 square foot home of my customer. I'd judge it to be sufficient for anything approaching a normal residence.

I got this router on Thanksgiving. I upgraded this router from Netgear ac1900. The previous router worked fine, but long range i did not get WiFi rang. So i upgrade and installed in my bedroom, and i got surprised that i got full bar in my whole house. I have Time Warner with maximum speed, but i never got reliable speed with previous router. so I am happy with my purchase.

Creme de la crime!! I had two issues with previous routers. My son's room where he played Xbox games were always dropping wireless. My daughter who is upstairs also had the same problem with her phone and computer. After installing this router the dead spots are non-existence!! Very satisfied.

Upgraded from RT-AC87u and couldn't be happier. ALL my network problems went away. This router has a amazing range. Even on 5ghz! I used to use 3x RT-AC87 to extend my 5ghz and this single router replaced them all! Everyone blames the iPad Air 2 wifi but it was the router! Absolutely no wifi issues with this router. If you have the means then I would highly recommend it.

Receives coverage throughout the 3 floors. Fast and no dropped signals.

This Nighthawk X8 replaces a Linksys AC1900 and the performance has been outstanding. I live in a house where I see many different wireless networks that were overwhelming my previous router. I have not had one problem since upgrading. Expensive, but for me, worth every penny that was spent.

I have been a Linksys customer for years. I am so happy to have made a change. The Netgear X8 is NO comparison to them. I have had solid connections and no rebooting issues like the past. VOIP is better wireless is faster and many in the home stay connected together without suffering like before. Its not cheap but very happy for a great change. Great job to Netgear.

Everything in the house works so much better and the speed is great

This router may seem obscenely priced, but it performs excellently. I set this up in a 3-story mansion and it was able to push a great signal across the entire homestead, and the yard, and the separate garage apartment on site. I can even get a better signal wth this router in the neighbor's house than I could get from the neighbor's own router in his house.

Works great and it's super fast. It was also very easy to set up.

I love the fact that we have 3 separate networks in the house. This allows us to have the kids phones and notebooks on one and tv or gaming on another and for the devices that require a lower speed a separate network. I haven't setup our data storage but it doesn't look complicate. The only downside would be the size but we have the right space.

This brand and series was suggested to me by my cable installer. I'm very happy with the device. It's fast, reliable and easy to setup with many additional features to customize your wireless network for your needs.
