These works great. You must have Both of Orbi Monitor & outdoor for them to work. They work, I can’t get Internet without them.

We have struggled to get a WiFi signal out to a backyard poolhouse. This Orbi outdoor extender is just the ticket !

Very overpriced for its benefits. Usually another orbi picks up the outside device first.

The Outdoor Orbi is basically the RBS50 satellite repackaged in a weather resistant package. I've had mine outside in rain and snow and have had no issues, though it is somewhat protected by the eaves. I think it would do fine even if it weren't as protected as mine. This is definitely a good option for installing on a deck (where I have mine) or other outdoor living area. The catch is that it does require AC power, which will limit your placement options unless you install a dedicated outlet for it. The plug is also quite large, and probably won't fit if you have an outlet with weather cover or even a "while-in-use" cover. So check it out and make sure you have a good way to plug it in before buying. The router comes with a stand and can also be wall mounted. If this is going to be a permanent installation, I would definitely recommend wall mounting. It has a bracket that locks it into place, and although it can be removed with a screwdriver, it's much more secure than setting it outside with the stand, where the whole thing could be swiped. The stand works great if you plan to move it in and out, but this thing is pretty big. You're probably not going to keep it on a shelf inside when you're not using it outdoors. The Orbi system itself is solid (you'll need at least an Orbi router in addition to this product if you don't already have one). I have the router, an indoor satellite, and the Outdoor Orbi, and I had zero problems getting them set up and have had no issues with dead spots or dropouts inside or out. It's really easy to sync up from the smartphone app. Performance when connected to the Outdoor Orbi has been the same as being connected directly to the router. Overall, this is a great product and well suited to extending your wi-fi coverage to outdoor living spaces.

We went from a single router placed in the middle of the hallway to an 3 unit Orbi system to improve WiFi coverage around our home. When it came time to extend the coverage in our backyard, the RBS50Y was a perfect choice. Got one and installed it outdoor on a wooden fence and paired it with our existing Orbi mesh and we were in business having great coverage in our backyard and beyond even when walking the dog around the neighbourhood.
Have had no issues with the snow and hopefully it will continue to work in the summer months as the unit is exposed to the elements.
Had to try a fee locations to find one that had good coverage back to the base and provided signal in our backyard and was also near an outlet (had to use an extension cord and put the adapter in a waterproof box for safety). If you do need coverage outdoors, i would highly recommend getting one for your Orbi system.

While I find this to be a worthwhile addition to the 3000 line, it is, IMHO, W-A-A-Y overpriced!!! A whole two unit system is about the same! ~$150,,,maybe. Over $300..NO THANKS!
But for the price, recommended.
