Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really nervous. I had read so many reviews about needing technical assistance installing different routers, so I was prepared for this to be yet another headbanging experience. I took this out the box, plugged it in and got to the next room and there it was. I just asked my laptop to find it with the netgear.ext and online within five minutes. I was so surprised. I really couldn't believe it was that simple. I was replacing an older smaller Netgear router that did nothing but go off line and had to be reset. This one is awesome. Never drops, lightning quick, a really good product. I would recommend this for anyone who just needs to plug it in and go.

It's ok.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a NetGear product, we are disappointed in this wi-fi extender because it was very confusing to set up (you need to be on a wireless COMPUTER - not an i-pad), we've had to call Customer Service twice to help us set it up. The second time they were to call us back and they STILL haven't called! When it IS finally connected, it works great! You can unplug it or turn it off and it re-sets itself well. It does take almost the full minute as explained in the booklet. When it loses it's connection to the main wi-fi router (which seems almost daily) you can just turn it off and then back on and it works fine. There is NO REASON for it to lose the signal. It loses the signal in the same 10 x 10 room as the router is in, as it does upstairs where we have it currently.

Great device for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical before on any range extender devices. I got NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender with 4-port Ethernet Switch to give it a try. Just because it was a netgear device. It works better than my expectation. The direct wired speed and the wireless speed I got is now double than what I had without it.

Great Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought 2 of these devices. It's very simple to use. Set it up with your home network and take the device and plug it in in anywhere where there is already good signal coverage and this device will boost the signal of your current WiFi network.

Not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this product to help extend my signal in my home from the second floor to the main floor. Installation was a breeze but, once installed I had a difficult time find a place in my home where it picked up good signal. I moved it to different locations trying to find the best spot to receive good signal. The farthest I could get away from my router was the room right below it. Which didn't help my situation. After hours of testing I returned the item. I think it would work great for someone in a apartment or small home but nothing else.

Good product, works as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was a little harder than anticipated, not as automated, mostly due to my ATT Uverse Router. Unit works well, placement is critical to get best boost to areas where it is needed. I probably needed a more powerful unit for my application, but this works well and is adequate and cost effective

My wireless range has now been extended
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having trouble getting a good WFI signal on other floors of the house. I followed the easy instructions that came with it and set it up. Found a good location that still connected to my WFI and has extended its range. I can now access the WFI through out the entire house without losing signal strength. The fact that it also comes with 4 ports to connect Ethernet to it is great. Now I can connect other computers or items to the port and have an additional router like connection point with out having to go through walls to run the Ethernet cable.

Terrific WiFi Extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy, cheap and fast way of extending wifi signal through a long house. Just plugged it in and uses same wifi codes and all the devices connect and switch from original access point to this extender as I move through the house.

Great addition to a big old farm house
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live in a big old farm house built in the late 1800's. Between the plaster and log walls our existing router didn't extend beyond the core of the house. This range extender not only gave us full access to our home network on the second level, but extended the signal over the log walls into the first floor areas that weren't covered before. Coupled with the push button WPS setup this was a fantastic buy. Did have to restart the extender after having to restart the main router and DSL modem. Would not reconnect to the network until restarted.

Did what it says: extended the wireless range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got a weak signal in the far end of my house so went in Best Buy and told them I had a Netgear router so what would work to extend the range. I was told this would do it and it does though I was surprised that the extender cost almost as much as the router. I asked if there were any other options but basically was told by the blue shirt that this was it. The install did not work with just pushing the link buttons so had to go online to get the system working. I now get full signal throughout the house in spite of the fact that I only have a red light on the extender which is supposed to mean a too weak signal. But it works and I installed it without help.
