Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

This was easy to install and configure, and my kids were able to connect their devices on their own. We have a 60 foot-long ranch with the wifi router in one corner. The farthest bedroom got maybe 1-2 bars out of 5 on a laptop. With the extender in the middle, that bumped up to 4 bars. An iPhone in the same bedroom would constantly switch to data from wifi but the extender allowed it to stay on wifi. Using the NetGear wifi analytics app (which is awesome), the signal difference between the router and the extender can easily be gauged all around the house. I plugged the unit into a hallway outlet. It is very small with flexible antennae that won't break when a teenager bumps into it (!). Simple, easy, cost-effective.

this unit was initially good for my office in the basement. however, after about a week it would drop connection frequently or would have to be disconnected and reconnected and would not maintain a signal. it was easy to set up and configure and I'm not sure if its this unit or my Comcast wireless modem causing the loss of connection. I tend to think it's Comcast causing the sluggishness. overall decent product for a good price

My house, which is approximately 1900 sq. ft., was built in 1924 and many of the walls are thick plaster and lathe. Because of this, there were several spots where my WiFi signal would drop on many of my devices. Upstairs, this problem was even worse. I placed the Netgear range extender in an outlet on the landing on the stairway. I now get a strong signal in most areas of my house (basement excluded). The setup was easy.

The price is very affordable and works just like advertised it boosted our Wi-Fi signal all through the house and didn’t break the bank like some of the other Wi-Fi boosters out there. We definitely recommend because set up was a breeze and the performance has been excellent so far

This is a great little WiFi extender for around $50.00! I usually buy it on sale for less, thank you Best Buy! It is easy to set up and turns a poor signal into a fast and solid network connection! Netgear tech support claims you cannot chain them together but you absolutely can as I have chained them in two directions to cover a long building completely in WiFi! It sits on a wall plug and the other plug is still accessible. If you need to protect it from walking off in a public area, it fits nicely into a thermostat lock box!

We were having poor wireless reception in the bonus room, so we bought this range extender. It was easy to install. Sometimes we still get signal drops, but I attribute this to the source and not the relay (the relay signal shows as strong on various wireless devices). I'll move the relay to different locations, and it reconnects quickly and automatically.

It saved my household as my wifi is not the greatest in the world. Not sure how; any company can offer slow wifi now a days. In any event, This booster/extender did carry a good signal to our bedrooms. Set up was simple and quick. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that it was glitchy when I used a different brand of extenders with it. As I said, signal was carried well enough, but we needed more of a boost as we stream ALL of our tv time. Price was fine, but as I needed 2 more, I tried lower priced ones. All is well now, any stalls are not the booster’s fault, I think. Umm, ok 4 1/2 Stars then

Couldn't be easier to set up. Works like a charm. Inexpensive but good utility. I don't see any reason to spend more for a product like this.

I have a hard time giving anything a full five star rating as almost nothing is that perfect. That said this unit comes pretty close, especially for the low price. Easy to set up and optimize for signal strength. Really made a difference in the far end of the house where week signal was slowing everything down. No problems now.

I got this hooked up in about 10 minutes and working with my home WIFI to extend it to the 3rd level of my townhouse since the router and WIFI are in the basement. I put the device in the hallway between the bedrooms and it has deffinately helped with the signal on the3rd floor. Streaming of content to the TV's is much improved.

I live in a 2 story 2000sqft home and since my Wi-Fi router currently located on the fist floor...next to the stairs, apparently can't go more than 50ft, when it's needed upstairs. So, I decided to look at an extender. So I went ahead and picked-up the NETGEAR - Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender to see if it would fix my problems.
First the good points, it is simple to install and setup, but pay close attention to the instructions! Also, it has BETTER range than my Wi-Fi router. My kids are happy cause they can game on their computers and console stations upstairs now, before they were always losing connection and dropping off line in the middle of a game.
Why I didn't give it 5 stars...on occasion, and I'm talking about maybe a couple of times a week, the device will simply drop offline for a couple of minutes. I know it's the range extender cause my phone will automatically reconnect to the Wi-Fi router which would still be active. The connection drop is only for a minute or two, but it can be annoying when it does happen. I had seen this in some of the other reviews prior to purchase so it was a concern, but fortunately it isn't a big problem...yet.

Took me 5 min to do the initial setup. Then it was ready to be plugged, unplugged, moved, and plugged back in. Took some trial and error findind the right spot between the wireless hub and my furthest device but now I can finally use internet in the furthest room of my house without my connection going in an out.

My roommate and I were having a bad time with WiFi in our house. The closest router was downstairs and across the building from where we had most of our devices and it could not easily be moved. I reviewed a few products and ultimately decided on this. I purchased this four months ago and am very glad I did. We would disconnect or have a poor connection several times a week before I bought this, now we have disconnected two or three times since I bought it and two times were from the service going out (the third was from the extender shutting off randomly). I haven't had many problems with the extender, sometimes my phone will fail to connect but I think that's mostly from there being three different routers it can connect to. The set up was wicked easy and took less than fifteen minutes.

I purchased this this because I recently moved into an apartment and found out the walls were concrete so with my router in the front room I had no signal in my bedroom. The set up was relatively easy. And for the most part it works good. Every once in a while a have to reset it but nothing major.

Pros: Small, unique, incognito, discret, good price, fast and powerful little piece of tech. So far my experience has been extremely pleasant on many levels. I would highly recommend this product to friends, family and co-workers alike if they want dedicated service in regards to *Range* and *Distance*. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed.
Cons: So for none to my knowledge. Maybe more advertising on social networks and other streaming services for a broader audience.

My son had read on the internet that the range extender should have certain minimums to be effective. This product met those standards and was the least expensive that did. I also bought it because it was one of the brands suggested by the customer service rep from our internet provider when we were trouble shooting why our connection was not working in all parts of our new home. The instructions were easy to follow as well. Thanks for a great cost effective product.

I had to purchase an extender to get my Ring doorbell product to function properly. I was happy with the price point. It was easy enough to set up. Once you're done it is out of sight and out of mind. It just works. Isn't that all we really want? No problems yet after several weeks.

I bought this for a couple of reasons- mainly because it's dirt cheap, but also has the ability to act as a wireless access point using a wired connection. So far signal strength has been excellent, and I've had no issues to date. In my case, my house is wired with cat5 to each room, but because the house is an L shape, part of the basement had a wifi dead spot. Since everything nowadays is wireless, having a deadzone in my daughters room was an issue. Using this as a wired wireless access point has saved the day. I'm able to get the same download speeds off of this device as I get off of the main router when I'm connected.
Now, this isn't the latest, greatest bleeding edge tech, but it's been reliable and cost effective for me. So far it has easily supported 8 heavy use devices simultaneously without any issues. Note that I'm using this as a _wired_ wireless access point, which is slightly different than most people's intended use of this

The unit works well for what it is. Easy to set up. If you can not run a wire to either move the router or add an access point this is an acceptable solution. You will loose about %50 of your speed going through this piece. But, it's better than not having connectivity.

Live in a home where my router was over 60 feet away through 4 walls. Put this a little closer than halfway and now the signal is as strong as if I were hard-wired into the router!!! One of the easiest installs of technology I've ever done!!!
