Customers are pleased with the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender's ease of use, Wi-Fi range, and signal strength. Many appreciate its quick setup, compact size, and good performance for the price. However, some experienced connection instability, and compatibility issues were also reported by a few users. The Ethernet port was a welcome feature for some.

I needed something to boost my wireless signal so it would reach my screened porch. This worked fine and is easy to install and use. After setting up the device (took a few minutes), I just plugged in to an outlet close to the porch and it was ready to go. No complaints so far. Good bargain for the price. Wish I had done it sooner!

Easy to follow instructions for set up, this device lets me use WiFi devices in every room of the house (and all around, outside) when before, I could only get a decent connection closer to the router.

I never rate anything. But this product literally filled a gap in my home. I had reviewed other products that all sounded to complicated to set up. On a last ditch effort I asked a Best Buy rep what I should buy and this was it. Set up took 5 mins. If you have a dead zone you lived with for years....this is your solution. It works.

Searched for quite a while for a wire line-to-Wi-Fi adapter to hook an old notebook computer with failing Wi-Fi up to the Internet. Finally found this 2-in1 device, billed as a "Range Extender". Set up the range extender function, and it seemed to work, but never really used it. Wire line-to-Wi-Fi adapter function seems to work well. Setup of the adapter function could be a little simpler, but anyone with experience configuring typical home routers via their Web-style interfaces should be able to figure it out. Just have to have the little instruction manual, which has critical info. like "URL" and login user name and password which aren't in the on-line version.

I was looking for an extender for my wifi overseas, where builings have lots of concrete and steal which affects wifi signals, Setup was easy and it worked well. This gets 4 not 5 because when turned off then on sometimes did not re-connect on its own and needed to be disconnected from power and reconnected which typically fixed the problem. I used it for 3 weeks so I am not certain about its longevity as well.

This extender set up and connected within minutes, as promised. It transmitted a good signal and improved my connections at the end of the house furthest from my router. I have had a few disconnects that I could not explain. I was able to re-connect it eventually and it is working smoothly again. Hard to say if the cause was the extender itself, the router, or something else. Overall, I have to say I'm satisfied with this product and can recommend it.

I have a 3-level condo, with my office built into a walk-in closet on the main level under concrete stairs. With my router on the middle level for maximum coverage, I would consistently get 40+ Mb/sec download and 4 Mb/sec upload anywhere on any level as long as I am outside my office, but I would get less than 5 Mb/sec download and less than 0.5 Mb/sec upload (with upload timeouts) inside my office because the Wi-Fi had to go through three layers of concrete.
I finally gave up fighting with my ISP to solve this for me today, and bought the Netgear WN3000RP extender. It took only a few minutes to set it up, plugging it into an outlet conveniently located opposite (and facing directly into) my office door. Since my equipment (desktop, laptop, and printer) now talk directly to the extender without going through *any* concrete, and the extender is now talks directly to the router through only one layer of concrete (between main and second level), I now have full signal strength in my office.

I think this was the easiest installation ever. I just plugged it into the wall and hit WPS button and was done. This product has helped extend my signal from the top floor of my home to the basement where I didn't have great signal before. The speed is decent but, if you are able to use the Ethernet port you will see greater speeds. The only down fall I have is i wish it had more Ethernet ports. Other than that great product.

This little device is perfect for boosting the Wi-Fi range in our house. We have an older home and we have had connectivity issues in certain rooms. Set-up was super easy and since plugging this little unit in our foyer, we have not had any connectivity issues.

As the family IT person, I needed something easy (plug & forget) for my parents house (65+ yrs old) so Mom could use her tablet anywhere without loosing a signal. This fit the bill. For under $40 it's a no brainer. Its a fast and easy way to boost signal. Now, like anything, placement means a lot. It's not the top radio (like MIMO) and it doesn't have AC pass through - but then again it's not $80+ like some can be. For price, it's just a real easy item to install and use. If you have WIFI drop in a section of your house / business, consider using. (If you have more need, start looking at APs).

This range extender does what is supposed to. I was having problem receiving the Wi-Fi signal on the second floor. This did the trick. I can use it to extend the signal from the basement to the second floor and receive wifi in the back yard. And for the price, you can't beat it.

I looked up quite a few extenders before settling on this one and I'm quite pleased with it. It takes about 10 minutes to set up and I was able to plug it in to the first choice slot and have been able to get wifi from the front of my house all the way out in my detached garage.

I purchased this for my room in my apartment because we were not getting a very good connection from the router to my Chromecast. With this NetGear extender, my Chromecast connects directly to the device and it works perfectly. It will lag a little every now and then, but the price I paid for this outweighs the minor lag. The only "con" i have for this (hence the 4 star rating) is that if you are binge watching a show, it will slowly lose connection after a while. I've discovered that once this starts happening, just turn it off for 5-10 mins, then turn it back on and it will work normally.

I live in a large house so I was only getting about half-coverage from my existing wireless router. This extender has now given me strong coverage through almost every corner of the house.
The set up was a little tricky, part of it due to matching my existing security 'blanket' here in a crowded neighborhood. The other part was in placement, but that was due to available power outlets in my house, not the fault of the Netgear box.
The price was very good compared to other similar products and the performance has been superb.

I avoided getting one of these because they used to be so difficult to install and were shotty at best. I finally got one because of my daughters nagging me. It was easy to install and sync. The girls now get plenty of wi-fi all the way to the back of the house.

Worked great to bring internet down to my basement. Easy to set up. Had it up and working in 10 minutes. Its also small and not an eyesore to see in the socket as it is located by the front door in my house
