Good while it worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for four months, then all lights started going solid and would need to be recycled, now works very sporadically. Even if left unplugged for hours may or may not start working again. I did not have the time or patience to try and deal with Netgear tech support just replaced with a Cisco. Buyer beware.

Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Netgear used to make great routers. My old MR814 v2 has been running for years and years and is still going strong at my parent's house. I only replaced it so I could move to 802.11G. Next was the MR614 (version unknown). It had to be replaced right away due to freezing up. The replacement, an MR614 v4, lasted a couple of years with only a couple of problems but they started increasing so I bought the MR814 v7. This thing has been disappointing from the start. I can no longer connect to it via Links and port forwarding and other services just stop working regularly requiring a reboot. When I'm away from home I need access to my server and this just isn't working. Time to start looking for other brands.

Don't waste your money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This modem is supplied by TWC for it's customers. They charge almost $12.00 a month to rent it. It has very slow download speeds and constantly looses the wireless signal and frequently looses ethernet connectivity as well. Do yourself a favor & spend a little more money to get something more reliable.

Not so good!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is my first router so I really don't have nothing to compare it to. I bought the router for thesole purpose to play my PS3 online. Long story short my PC never got above a low signal and even though my PS3 was directly connected to the router I was still getting kicked off line. Everybody I talked to told me to take this back and get a Linksys. So that's what I'm going to to.

Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to configure, though documentation is skimpy. Certain revs of firmware will not work with VPN though.

Worst Router ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router to replace an old Linksys WIreless B router that I had for 5 years. Setup was fine but the signal is horrible. I live in a split level house and have 2 laptops, 1 desktop, 1 printer and a xBox connected to it. It constantly drops the signal and goes in and out which is not great when you're working from home on through a vpn.

misleading install info
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The documentation says to just use the install CD. The CD tells you that your PC does not have an Internet adapter, that's nonsense. You install it using common sense, and it works. Don't waste your time calling support. Once installed and secured, it works ok.
