The game is a better version of the first super Mario Brothers which offers the same view and layout but with a more upgraded in advance playing feel.

My 6 year old son is into everything mario so even though he has this game for the wii u he wanted to be able to play it on his switch so I we got it for him. I just feel like nintendo charges way too much for older games.

I purchased this item for our 3 grandchildren who range in age from 5 to 10. It seemed the perfect game for all ages, definitely PG. The kids were thrilled and played with it immediately. I'm so glad I bought it for them for Christmas!

I bought this as the first game to go with the Nintendo Switch Lite for my daughter. It offers all the original characters that I used back when I played but also includes several new features that scale the difficulty down to fit the skill/age of new players. The first feature I loved was the addition of new characters that provide an "easier + easiest" game experience with Toadette + Nibbett. They allow players to make a few mistakes and not have to start over, like with the traditional Mario + Luigi characters. The second new feature I loved is the watch + learn gameplay tutorials that are built in to the game itself. If the game sees that you are struggling with completing a level, it will automatically ask you if you'd like to watch your character go through the level as a watch + learn function... pretty neat. The result is less frustration and a more positive + fun experience because inclusivity features were built into the experience from the beginning. I'd highly recommend this game to anyone, regardless of skill level or prior gaming experience. Two thumbs up.

I purchased this for my 13-year-old son. According to him, this is a very enjoyable Mario game. It is an advanced version (or “port”) of the Super Mario Bros U. game on the Wii U. In the Switch version, there is a surprising amount of content that will really excite someone who likes to get the full experience out of games. There are two full campaigns, a challenge mode, and two multiplayer modes. The two campaigns in this game are quite fun. Both offer imaginative level designs along with great, but simple control options. Mario U is the first campaign, and it is a pretty standard Mario adventure. Luigi U changes up the level designs, physics, and time limit of the game leading to a more challenging adventure. Unfortunately, a lot of the themes have been done before in multiple other Mario games. This is the fifth entry in the New Super Mario series, but it does not offer many new features. Both Mario U and Luigi U (the 2 campaigns) are good, but unoriginal (Mario U more so than Luigi U). But this changes with ‘challenge mode.’ If you thought the main campaigns were hard, this will be much harder. It is tons of fun trying to get gold medals on all of the challenges. And the game even offers two multiplayer modes to play against friends in, Coin Battle and Boost Rush, which are both fun. Overall, the game is very good, but it is similar to previous Mario games so only 4 stars. Music, graphics, and gameplay are standard, but the game itself is great!

I love playing Mario Bros. Brings me back so many childhood memories, back when my dad used to play with me and my sister. Now i get to pass on the joy to my kids and they love it as well.

Have played both solo and co-op. The real fun is in co-op, but it's still a solid single player platformer. I like the music and art style, and collecting the 3 large coins in each level can be challenging. The platforming isn't as precise as some other titles, so the controls can feel "floaty" at times.
This includes the Luigi time trial mode which isn't easy! This game is kid friendly but also a nice challenge for adults.

I grew up with Mario games and I hadn't played for many years until my wife gave me the Nintendo Switch and I decided to buy this game, which has been one of the best experiences I've ever had. I can tell you that it is a game that we use almost every day and we play it as a family and that is something that has united us. My son and my wife love them. Thank you Nintendo for the excellent game.

My daughter loves to play this Super Mario game. She is a beginner and the game has a character that allows her to learn, that’s a good thing. It is great for adults too. 100% recommended.

Up to four players on the same screen, playing good old Super Mario Brothers. What more could you want?? Two new added characters with an easier difficulty level for younger gamers makes it perfect for families.

I grew up on the original Super Mario games and this is very reminiscent of them, just better graphics and a tad harder. It's fun and there is plenty of side things to do as you progress through the world map.
