I played the first game and it was fun. This game is better in my opinion. There is no familiar collecting anymore but the battle is more fast pace in this game. This was the first game i played on my new 4K tv!! I spent 11 hours in one sitting with this game. It's is kind of slow at first but the battle system is pretty interesting + first time playing on a 4K tv so i lost track of time.

This game is a good sequel to the first game. I just wish that it was a little more challenging.

I spent about 120 hours on this game and had a lot of fun beating it. Story was predictable, but enjoyable. The RTS element to the game with the castle building was a big surprise and gave me this urge to complete it. It became a huge grind towards the end, but the final version of the castle was quite nice. I highly recommend it if you enjoy old school RPGs.

Ni No Kuni 2 is a sequel to the first game, though the two stories aren’t tied together. Graphically it’s nice to look at on the PS4 pro, and the sound track is excellent. Studio Ghibli had some involvement in the game (though not as much as the first title), and the combat is now action based instead of turn based. I’m enjoying my time so far with this title.

I have greatly enjoyed playing this game however....
In the first one, my favorite thing was the Pokemon style catching and leveling up of minions throughout my adventure. Always finding one that was stronger than a previous one.. it added to the adventure. They added a somewhat replacement, but I don't feel it does it justice. Still the game and campaign is really good. Recommended.

If you are into RPG games, then this is the game for you. The game started off with a background story for those that havn't played the first game, so no need to worry if you havnt. The gameplay is amazing and being able to own the steelbook collection was a great plus. The artwork on the cover was amazing. Would recommend to any RPG lover.

I am going to compare this game to the first one.
The combat is much improved. The first one I got bored about 25 hours in because the combat was so stale at that point. The more action styled combat of this one is much more pleasing.
However, the story and characters are less engaging than the first. The first one was "dripping" with that Ghibli charm.

I haven't finished the first one on PS3 but once I saw this one for sale i decided to pick this one up because why not. The art style and the characters look just amazing. Just like the first game. I played this for a couple hours and it made me want to go back to finish the first one. I recommend it.

I was a fan of the original Ni No Kuni, so I picked this game up. The graphics are sharp and it looks like you're watching an anime. The fighting system is engaging, similar to the first game. The premium version has additional accessories, which is worth it if you can get it on sale.

Ni No Kuni 1 was a game my girlfriend put a ton of time into a few years ago. While she was iffy on the 2nd since it didn't have the monster collecting, within just a couple days of owning it she put it 30 or so hours already. Highly recommend to any JRPG fan.

A fun, but a little easy game. Visuals are nice, but not quite as good as the original. I recommend playing on hard mode for rpg veterans, but makes for a good starter rpg on normal mode. Overall, would recommend, if you like the aesthetic.

I really loved the first Ni No Kuni. This one is good so far, but I’m still on the fence. I feel like it’s trying to do too many things and I’m forced to micromanage too much stuff. It’s fine so far. The graphics are stunning, especially on PS4 Pro in 4K HDR.

This game is a fun journey of a young king trying to establish a kingdom. The gameplay is very fun. The graphics is some of the best Cel shaded graphics I have seen and is playable in 4K HDR. Don't worry if you haven't played the first game.
