Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the fun and varied gameplay, engaging story, and fantastic music in Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. Many appreciate the game's beautiful art style and the additional features included in premium editions. While some found the game a bit easy, the kingdom building aspect is also frequently praised. A few players noted changes to the battle system from the previous game.

I just want to let everyone know that I LOVED the first Ni No Kuni it was FANTASTIC! I was so hyped when this one was announced, I pre ordered it. I played the game and let me just say that I hated the story, It was lackluster, it felt rushed, nothing truly seemed like it was connected in the end. Game play it self was fun, tho I wish there was a harder setting, I got the premium addition which comes with some extra DLC, I don't even know if I got that, I paid like 20$ more then the regular game by itself, Next thing I know best buy is now selling it for 20$ Ugh -_-. Anyway I was overall sad and displeased with the game, 40% of the game was like a mobile app "farmville" experience where you collect citizens and wait while they learn different things or farm for things or wait while you accumulate money. It did get addicting but for a "real" game I expected more. I think I spent more game play expanding the kingdom rather then play the game (if you expand the kingdom you progress better in the game)

Visuals are stunning and exactly what was expected being a huge fan of the original. Although I was extremely let down with the jumbled story and new combat mechanics, Still many hours worth of game play here, but may not be exactly what you want if returning to the franchise.

The first game was the reason I bought a PS3, and this sequel doesn't disappoint. It changes up the combat system quite a bit and adds in both a city-building aspect and a troop/army battle system and both, while slightly on the simplistic side, still are great additions to an already great game.

This games was extremely fun to play. The combat system is smooth, easy to learn but it can be hard to master. The kingdom management is pretty easy, you can spend about 10 it so minutes starting research, building and collecting your items then leave it for a few hours.

The paper craft diorama is tricky to put together. The rest of the extras aren't worth it. Sadly the game itself is a step back compared to the first one.

It’s not as good as the first one but it definitely retains the charm. If you like city building/management you’ll probably like this. I got it to play in such a rich beautiful artsy anime world.

The art is so beautiful that I sometimes got distracted looking at the scenery. Battle is a little wonky at times but it is not a huge issue as the game is really fun.

I didn't have the chance to play the first one and everybody says that it's better than this, but I really like this one, so it seems that both are worth it!

Good game. THis comes with a steelbook and a miniature 3D looking frame made of cardboard that you build. Nice little additions to collect.

The Enamor of Ghibli has Worn Off

Suffering from sequelitis, Ni No Kuni II is more. . .well NNK than Pokemon this time around and the once charming Ghibli feel has started to wear off a bit. I'm still working through the game myself, but I'm not feeling the same draw of the previous game. The game seems to have whimpered out as well, drawing very little attention in the media which is stark contrast to the first outing. Overall, if you're a fan of the first, you will enjoy this one but set expectations a little lower before diving in.
