Great movie!!!!! Good one liners and lord help us if there’s ever a zombie apocalypse

Grandaddy of all modern zombie movies, though George Romero has stated his inspiration for this was Richard Matheson's novella "I Am Legend" , which was made into a movie in 1964..."Last Man On Earth", starring Vincent Price...Romero said this movie was an"homage" to "I Am Legend"...Matheson quipped he didn't realize that homage meant his work was going to be used but he wasn't going to get paid for it...originally in black and white, this is a colorized version...while not a huge fan of colorizing movies, this one doesn't suffer too much under the technology...doesn't make it a better film, but it doesn't detract from it terribly either....the storyline is familiar to almost anyone who has seen a zombie movie...strangers thrown together in a strange building...do they make a run for it, or sit tight and wait for rescue that may never come? Usual conflicts of characters, bickering, and lots of flesh eating ghouls...pretty graphic stuff for 1968...truly a classic, and a genre defining movie...

Such an underrated film compared to the classic! This film is a great remake that really no one talks about!

It is now close to 50 years since The Night of the Living Dead was first released. This low budget horror flick caused a stir then and still holds up well today. I appreciate it because instead of focusing just on the creatures, the film places focus on the dynamics of the people trapped inside. It is great to have this available in a blu-ray edition. I was disappointed, however, that there are absolutely no special features provided with the disc. This would have been an opportunity for some background on the film and on Romero, interviews of how it affected people at the time, and a discussion of how this film inspired and shaped subsequent films of the genre.

I mean, it’s a classic. It started the zombie craze way back when. The fact that it’s in black & white kind of adds to the nostalgia. Tame by today’s standards, but still gory enough to keep the kids away.

This landmark 1968 horror-shocker is a great example of what can be done with a limited budget, a simple idea, and some dedicated and talented participants. Very nicely shot, mostly well acted, NOTLD grabs your attention from the very beginning to the very end - and what a classic end it is.

Thankfully there's such a good copy of this horror classic available, and for a great price. Absolutely worth the $5.99 it cost, especially if you don't want to pay for the more expensive collector's editions.

I enjoyed this classic Zombie horror movies. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating was because of the Bug from the production company logo that was in color while the movie is in black/white. The bug kept popping up in the bottom right of the screen throughout the movie. This is a DVD movie that I purchased why in the world is that bug down there like what happens on TV shows. The bug was very distracting. Overall I liked the movie, classic horror.

This is where it all began. I love this movie. I have been on a zombie movie kick again, what I didn’t realize I didn’t have this on blu ray. So I just purchased again to add to the collection

Absolute cult classic. Didn’t need special effects to deliver a creepy bone chilling tale of dead bodies coming back to life. Black and white enhances the effect with great camera angles. Classic horror!

The Original Zombie movie and George A.Romero knew what he was doing! the Black and White film is by far a piece of movie history and a classic

Great movie! Made by a Great Man. Great detail wit make and Camera shots. Great acting by lead actors. This movie paved the way for so many other Great movies. Also Digital code worked

Got it at a great price , you cant beat it but the digital version I would be skeptical of, I didn't use it because my PC and tab kept warning about the site and that there may be trouble ahead ? never got this before and said possibly because my clock or date may be off but it wasn't !

Where it all started! Classic George A Romero in blu ray format. Wanted to add more zombie movies to my collection and couldn’t beat the price!

Awesome Movie! If you don't own it you should get it. Be careful which release you get for some do not have great picture quality. This one is a must have!

You really can’t go wrong with this old school classic zombie film. It is in black and white but the storyline and cast really make this a very solid film. Worth seeing if you are a true zombie movie fan.
