No subscription, better pic than the last one I had only bad thing it’s that the box it’s not wifi you have to connect the box directly to the internet box

My first home security system was the Q-See system and it was impossible to connect to my internet wireless system. Even IT folks left comments in Amazon at how difficult it was and customer service was pointless and I am still waiting for a reply on a message that I sent them, a week before I bought this system. I saw this system at Bestbuy and immediately bought it. I had it set up and connected to my internet within ONE HOUR. Because my Q-See cameras still work, I am using3 of them but I replaced the backdoor cam with a new Night Owl cam that has the spot light. The spot light is very bright and adds to my backdoor security light when both are lit. One more positive point about this system is that it continually overwrites the HD, so I do not have to do a "clean up" of the HD every few weeks as with my old system. This system is definitely worth every penny, and their customer service is top notch. They've answered EVERY message that I have sent within a reasonable time-frame.

I purchased a home that already had Night Owl cameras installed. Naturally, the previous owners took their DVR so I began looking to purchase a compatible standalone DVR. When I came across this bundle, it was about a $40 difference from a standalone DVR vs this DVR with 4 cameras...and considering this one is a 16-Channel option...I went with this. Upon installation (which was pretty straight forward), I realized that the previous cameras, which were about 3 years old, had not aged well (720p and it looked like the outdoors had gotten the best of them). So I wound up switching all the old ones for these. Obviously, 1080p isn't 4k so don't expect SUPER CRISP images when you view on your app (which you have to make sure you get the right one on your phone...there are several) or monitor (which you can have or not but the kit includes a small mouse). The LED light on the cameras is similar to the one on an iPhone so they aren't extremely bright if installed on a second story like I have...however, to serve as a deterrent...this was all I was expecting. All in all, I'd say this system is good to meet basic needs and it's nice that you have the surveillance in your own hands as opposed to in the cloud somewhere.

Gear inexpensive set of cameras with motion detectors. Easy to set up and easy to use

Set up was simple. Cameras and alerts are great. Wish it had a user manual with it. All help is online.

We hired someone to set these cameras up. Now that they're set up the picture is really clear and the app along with it is awesome. I'm able to see when there was movement on any camera and it's pretty accurate when it says "human" or otherwise. We also really like the the little spotlights. This is a really good deal compared to the higher-tech brands or monthly service companies. FIVE STARS.
