Price is good. Product works well without any monthly services by saving to optional sd card. Quality imaging day and night. Access to camera via phone app is easy and works well from anywhere. Instructional info and support needs to mature and go beyond the assumption that everything works from the get-go and provide more instructions to manage the recorded events. With all support based online, it should be easy to build and enhance a great support library. I highly recommend this as an alternative to competitors' that are more expensive and require a subscription to cloud storage services. (You can subscribe with this product, but as an option)

I can't recommend this as a video doorbell. It is passable as a cheap security camera. I have not been able to get it to work properly with a mechanical doorbell or a new electronic chime. I have replaced the transformer as well. The mechanical doorbell would buzz and randomly ding making myself and my dog insane. The new electronic chime rings constantly when connected. So, I purchased the digital chime power amp, PN A-WDB2-DCPA from Nightowl to attempt to fix this issue. Now the electronic chime never rings even when the button is pressed. On to the connectivity issues... There is about a 15 to 30 second delay in notifications when I'm on the same WiFi network as the doorbell, minutes of delay when I'm on cell data. When trying to open the app, I'm greeted with somewhere around a minute before it connects to show the video feed. This results in whomever rang the doorbell leaving before I can ever talk to them, especially since the chime inside won't work. Recorded video is decent quality, but two out of three times it says no video exists for the selected day which shows up as 1969 or some other year. Closing and reopening the app will usually get it to work.

The doorbell is wired for power and for chime, so they can walk you through some troubleshooting measures to correct, as each customer's setup is unique. Regarding the delays, have you tested your Internet speed? Delays such as those you describe are typically caused by insufficient Internet speed. Keep in mind, all other devices you have on that LAN that are connected and drawing from the upload and download speeds you have. Please ensure you are meeting the product's recommended minimum upload and download speeds and that that speed is dedicated and not being scooped up by other networked devices. Tough to rate this so low, but getting doorbell to connect to iPhone was very difficult. Many days spent with their tech support still did not work. Thank you Geek Squad it works.

I recently installed this DBW2 doorbell and it's working great, but there were two things I found unnecessarily difficult in the setup: 1. When trying to initially add the doorbell to the app, I couldn't get past the WiFi warning message because the "proceed" button is below the view of my phone's screen. (The same with my wife's phone.) I miraculously figured out that if I go into my phone's display settings and decrease the "zoom", the "proceed" button will appear at the bottom of the screen. 2. It took me an hour to figure out how to get the doorbell to ring my existing chimes. You have to go into "settings" then "Feature Control" then "doorbell" then turn on "Wire Ring Enabled".

initial installation was easy and the device paired readily. Initial function was barely acceptable. I could call up the video feed, but there was no app notification when the doorbell button was pushed. Lots of false human image notifications. After about 3 months I started having issues. The device would lose connection and then reconnect. It also did a half ring of our doorbell at random times. I verified with my phone that I had full strength wifi at the doorbell. I also moved the Nightowl DVR to with in 5 feet of the doorbell. No improvement in connectivity and issues remained with the half ring of the house doorbell. I'm returning to the store to get something that works!
