Most gorgeous 50mm I’ve ever seen and if this is any indication of the 1.2 prime I can’t wait, I hear my billfold screaming now.

Razor sharp S lens from Nikon. Although a 1.8, don't think this is the "nifty fifty" cheaper lens in the nikon line, the image quality of this lens is superb and the metal build quality makes the lens feel like it's punching far above it's low price tag. Anyone who owns a nikkon Z body needs this in their kit.

This lens was my first for the Nikon Z8, and it’s been such a reliable companion. The sharpness is outstanding even wide open at f/1.8, and the bokeh is soft and clean, perfect for portraits and lifestyle shots. It’s incredibly lightweight, which makes it ideal for handheld work or when you’re on the move. While I’m now considering upgrading to the 50mm f/1.2 for an even creamier depth, this 1.8 still holds up beautifully. It captures detail without being clinical, and the autofocus is quiet and fast — great for both photo and video. If you’re looking to build your Z-series kit or want a versatile, high-quality lens without breaking the bank, this is a solid choice that punches above its weight. Definitely recommend.

After watching several reviews on YouTube, I decided to try the 50mm 1.8S lens. At one time I had the nikon 50 1.8G & the Sigma Art 1.4 and I enjoy this lens much better than either of those other two lenses. The older Nikon seemed a little cheap to me and I always felt like I needed to work on my fine focus adjustments on my D810. The Sigma lens was beautiful but just rediculously heavy. Based on the reviews I expected this lens to be heavy but I feel like it matches the z6/z7 bodies nicely and doesn't feel like the Sigma whatsoever. I've taken several photos and have been very impressed with how detailed the photos are. If you find a review where they are actually measuring resolution this lens beats all prior Nikon 50mm lenses in almost every measurement. If you own a z6 or z7 and you need to buy a 50mm lens this should really be on your short list of options. If you have a z6 and you can't ever see yourself getting a higher megapixel camera than you have options. The G series lenses would work and the Tamron 50mm lens would be nice (assuming it's compatible... Some are not) However, if you have a Z7 I think you'd be disappointed to put an older Nikon G lens on it. The cameras of tomorrow are only getting higher in resolution and I seriously doubt the Nikon G 1.8 or 1.4 will be able to give you the extra detail that you are paying for. This lens is highly recommended.

Amazing. Using this with the z6iii is like the most perfect thing I could imagine. It’s super fast, the bokeh is gorgeous, the very shallow depth of field feels dream like. In pictures and video, it’s my favorite lens I’ve ever used, and I’ve been a Nikon photographer for over 14 years.

This is the best Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens that I have used so far. It is relatively light weight, very very sharp (corner to corner) even at wide open aperture with a great bokeh. I am using this lens as my all purpose lens.

Probably the best picture quality for the price and weight you can get in a prime lense right now without spending 3-4x the amount for a different camera brand. It punches far beyond it’s weight!

Great lens. May not be a 'prime' lens, but who really can afford a prime lens when it cost more than the camera? Anyway, I got some great pictures for a contest and my photo was selected as a semi-finalist. Awesome results from this little 50mm. Using a Nikon Z6 really adds to the quality of the photos. Great lens for landscape!

Great lens. Very very sharp (Ziess Otus sharp). Very quiet focus for video...compliments that Z6 very well as a top notch photo/video all rounder. Love or hate the new direction on the industrial design (Sony is going the same place) but feels good in hand. Enough metal to feel substantial (better than the F-mount G lenses). The S-series lenses are game changers.

The 50 mm is probably my favorite focal length. I think I have 4 or 5 different 50's. So far, this has been awesome. I have only had my Z 6 for a couple of months and have mostly been using the 24-70 f4s. But, this lens is beautiful. Sharp. Fast focus. Fast aperture. It will get used very often.

This is the most sharp Nikon S-line lens period. And 50mm is very useful for portrait, street photography, and landscape if you know how to frame the images right.

50mm @1.8 sharp corners to corner. Sharpness is not the only thing stands out. Color, contrast, quiet focus, and no focus breathing, those are big pluses for photo/videography
