Amazing piece of glass.
I was shocked to find this lens briefly available, here at Best Buy online, as it seems to be out of stock indefinitely anywhere you can buy photography equipment. Also was nice to get the full rewards points for the purchase.
This lens is living up to the hype. Super sharp, beautiful bokeh. I don't find it too heavy but I am use to carrying around big glass. I could see where some could find it on the heavier side but it has to be expected with a large aperture lens. It feels well built and solid. I also like the minimalist look of the Z lenses.
The image stabilization is stunning with a native "Z" lens on my Z6 body. Handheld, through the viewfinder, it looks as if the camera is sitting on a tripod. I can't wait to see if this rings true with their much longer focal reach lenses the have on the lens roadmap.
The autofocus seems a LOT more snappier, on point and dead silent. This is unbelievably perfect for recording video. I notice there is a hesitation with the lenses I use with the FTZ adapter. This seems to not be the issue with a Z mount lens on the Z body. Again, I am awaiting some longer "Z" zoom lenses to hope this is the case, across the board, as I'm sure it will be.
The additional programable buttons and dial, near the mount, are really handy. It's perfect to program the dial to your EV +/- and quickly change it at any moment without having to use a combination of button pressing.
I really wish Nikon would start making arca-swiss style lens feet so I don't need to buy a 3rd party one. The foot it comes with is adequate, but not very handy, and just typical for pretty much all their lenses. I just have it removed and out of the way until I can get one I don't need to attach a plate.
The lens shows no quality degradation with the 1.4x teleconverter. I only have this tele, so unable to test with the 2x.
If you are buying into the Nikon Z camera system and this lens is available, get it. You will not be sorry.

Probably the best 70-200 lens I've used from any manufacturer. It's autofocus is fast and accurate. It's not too heavy for daily use. Sharpness is absolutely incredible and the design build is flawless. I would buy this again and again.

I just received this lens and gave it a go in my yard. It is paired with a Nikon Z8 and the combo is excellent. It is fast and produces high quality images. Attached are several images. One of them is the original image with a bird on a house and the second is a cropped image with the bird. So far, this is a great lens. It is feels heavier than I expected but was able to take these shots without a tripod.

I cannot rave enough about the Nikon 70-200mm lens. I initially purchased this lens specifically for wedding photography, hoping to take advantage of its focal range for capturing candid moments and those intimate, dreamy portraits during ceremonies. Little did I know this lens would become my all-purpose, go-to lens for almost every type of photography.
Build Quality & Portability
First, the build quality is absolutely top-notch. It feels sturdy and professional, as you’d expect from a high-end Nikon lens. But what blew me away was how unexpectedly lightweight it is. I’ve used other lenses in this range that feel like you’re carrying a brick all day. This one, however, is surprisingly easy to handle—even during long, demanding shoots like weddings or outdoor events. The thoughtful design makes it feel perfectly balanced on my camera, even for handheld shots

It's such a beautiful and well constructed lens. It's one of my favorite in my collection. I tried it out several times before I bought it. The weight is as expected for a lens of this focal length and aperture. It works just as beautifully with the z6ii as it does with the z30. The sharpness is awesome and the bokeh is fantastic.

This lens is outstanding. I have it paired to a Z7 Mark 1 and it’s amazing. It feels so well made. The oled info screen is incredibly useful. The autofocus is fast and smooth, especially with eye detection. Images are razor sharp and dreamy looking all at the same time. Cranked all the way open the bokeh is stunning and subjects shot on a high F-stop look surreal and etched out. I use it mainly for fashion product photography and the level of detail and depth is unmatched. Don’t hesitate to buy this lens.

I am thrilled with my purchase of the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, which has quickly become the best lens in my collection. Though I’m not new to the 70-200mm range, this version exceeds expectations with its incredible speed, sharpness, and reliable weather sealing. Its exceptional performance, especially in low-light conditions, makes it perfect for wedding photography, where versatility and image quality are crucial. Nikon’s new design earns a solid 10+ in my book, showcasing why it’s an essential piece of equipment for any serious photographers!

Love how fast the lens auto-focus and crisp the photos come out of it. Bit on the heavier side but well balanced while using with my Z6.
Overall, it is beast of a lens. :)

This the zoom lens I've been waiting for! Super fast focus and eye detection with both Nikon Z6ii and Z7ii.
I have used the Nikkor Z 70-200mm for Senior portraits, large product shots and even moon shots.
Switch from FX Mode to DX Mode and the lens works similar to 100-280mm for that little extra reach.
You will love this lens and the extra capability it gives you as a photographer.

I was weary of spending this amount of money on this lens but I am glad I did. The lens is fast and the quality is great. I also tried the 2.0 teleconverter on it and they work great together. I added a pic that I took with this lense

Super sensitive focus point, still getting use to it. I just leveled up so much in my photos with this lens that I can’t even write technically about it yet but I do can say that it’s worth the money invested to make a difference in the results.
