I purchased this in addition to my Nikon D3100 camera to take close up shoots during my daughter's college graduation. The zoom range was perfect for my needs. Easy to use, adjust, and picture quality was fantastic.

I purchased this lens to put on my Nikon D7000. I get great quality photos from it; I've used it for portraits, landscaping pictures, really anything. The larger zoom gives the photographer much more range.

This has a good zoom on it with a Nikon D3200. I have only used it a handful of times so far, but it takes clear pictures at a distance. Most of the time they are sharp and colorful depending on lighting.

I love this lens.... I have recently started taking portraits and this lens has been a great starter investment.

If this lens was a 35-200 I would never take it off my camera. Crisp images & great on auto focus. It's a bit heavy, but not too much to deter me from using it. I love, love this lens

This lens it's great and very versatile. As long as the pictures are taken with a descent distance.

This lens is my favorite lens to shoot with. It captures everything perfectly and zooms up phenomenally on the subject.

It's a really good lens if you are learning photography. I found that if you are taking portrait photos, the 55mm is not suited to take close ups. The real advantage is that it takes really great shots with this lens.

It is a very good lens for it's price, it has a good image quality and a long focal distance, great for shoots outdoor. It came with a sun shade which it's great.

I get excellent pictures from this lens, and would recommend it to anyone. It's so easy to focus, too.

I would suggest anyone looking for a kit - go ahead and purchase the extra lens because you get it a discounted price for the lens and once you use this lens you will be very happy and it also gets you that extended range you will be wanting. Fast focus!

Overall I'm really happy with this lens. Its smooth, balanced, and can take fantastic pics with the right setting. Its not as sharp as the kit lens my camera came with, but its a fair trade considering the price and zoom range it adds. The biggest downside I'd have to say is the shortest focal length is around 3 feet, so not a macro lens by any means. The bokeh is great though and with my D3200, the megapixel count means i can crop out a good enough macro shot. I'm fairly new to DSLRs, so I didn't want to drop mega bucks on an extra lens, but I wouldn't regret this purchase regardless. It gets the job done well and is a great lens to learn with.

This is a great lens! Nikon optics always deliver crystal clear sharpness and this multi-purpose telephoto lens offers terrific clarity. I got a tremendous deal when buying this lens with my new Nikon D3100! For amateur users and budding professionals like myself, this lens is a bargain and definitely worth more than the price tag!

this lens works well for taking shot not so close. have used it to get close ups of plants, flowers and even moving objects
