Having never had good experiences with third party accessories; I've become somewhat of a brand snob over the years. For me, it's always worth the few extra dollars for an on brand peripheral if it means not having the added stress of wondering about compatibility and the dreaded "when will it stop working"? This battery works exactly the same as the standard stock battery included with your camera body, charges relatively quickly, lasts beyond most shoots and holds its charge well. I highly recommend this.

Why wouldn't anyone desire to have an extra battery? If you frequently use you rear display and/or video capturing features you will certainly need extra or stand-by power. Would I buy off-brand batteries? Not me, nope-nope! I like having a clean warranty protection plan with my gear. Doesn't make sense to purchase a high priced race car and put cheap 'no name' tires on it hoping for the best results ... to me anyhow. Battery life is fully dependent on your camera use, camera settings, your choices of file saving options for processing, video recording habits, display use, and so on. I use much battery power when learning new techniques and camera options as I am always making reference to settings or results until I am satisfied with what I am doing. The battery lasts very well under my constant use. It's made for the camera, meant for the camera, designed by those who made the camera ... So I bought it for the camera and very satisfied with the purchase. Sure, I wish it were cheaper but hey, ya get what ya pay for ;)

Bought this not knowing I wouldn't need it (most info online says 1,000 to 1,500 pictures), I shot over 5000 photos on one battery - however most of those will probably be chucked, once things started moving I was shooting high speed action with the shutter on continuous low. I will add that my camera settings may also have helped the battery life as well as using manual focus, I also use the viewfinder instead of the LCD (unless the shot means I can't get my eye to the viewfinder - very rare occurrence).

Just like every other Nikon battery I have ever used, the Nikon - EN-EL15 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery delivers and never prematurely drains or runs out of power. I can throw a few of these batteries in my camera bag in the morning and be confident I will have enough juice to get through the day and get the job done. I use genuine Nikon batteries so I can concentrate on the task at hand and not worry about my gear failing on me when I need it most.

Works perfectly with my Nikon D7000 and D71000 camera‘s. Learned a long time ago to use the original manufacturers brand batteries for your camera, not only will you get the best battery life but will help protect your camera’s warranty as well. I have been using Nikons (long before digital) for many years and never had any problems with Nikon batteries. From my D100 and D200, and now with my D7000 and D7100.

Charges quickly, lasts a long time, built sturdy. I'll never have a dead camera again!

longer lasting than secondery market batteries can't beat the price

I used this battery on a cruise I recently took. Dusting this cruise I took approximately 400 photos and about half of them I used the flash. At the end of the trip I still had over 50% of charge left on the battery. This has plenty of power when you will be away from your charger for a while. I highly recommend this product.

Have purchased less expensive 3rd party versions of this battery in the past, but always go back to the Nikons. They charge more quickly and hold the charge a bit longer, though rated about 200 mAh less. The price isn't great, but you get what you pay for.

You should always have a spare battery and why not buy an original product from Nikon. Bestbuy associates were very helpful in helping me make the correct decision on all the Nikon equipment I now own.

I have had 4 Nikon batteries for old D200 camera -- they all worked very well for years. I took over 250,000 photos with them! Now that I have moved to to the newer bodies that use the even better EN-EL 15 batteries I will continue to use only Nilkon.

Everyone needs a second battery for their camera. I tried the off brand batteries but they didn't hold the charge as long as the Nikon battery. Best to stick with the OEM stuff.

I bought this battery as a second battery to go with a Nikon D7100 that I recently purchased. I didn't want to get caught without necessary power to complete a photo shoot.

Was undecided if I needed it for a six hour shoot. Decided to get it and sure enough, I needed it after 4 hours. Popped this one in to my d7000 and was able to finish the day. Will take a back up battery every time I shoot.

Purchased this product for a great price as a backup battery for my Nikon D7100. Very good to have as it keeps my camera running longer when placed in my battery pack.

Either as a replacement battery or in my case a second battery, the original Nikon battery is the only one to buy. Others may be much cheaper but you will never get the performance of the Nikon built battery.

This battery performs flawlessly. I feel it is well worth paying a bit more for Nikon quality over after market brands. After spending over $1000.00 on a camera, I want a battery that I have confidence in.

I like to get a second battery for all of my camera's, just in case. This was a nice OEM replacement battery and with the Best Buy price match to a major online seller I got it for a very good price.

It's all but required to have a second battery, and I finally got one for my (relatively) new D7200. Although there are generics, the Nikon batteries will give a more accurate status level on camera.

When I bought my D750 I thought I need an extra battery since I don't like running out of charge in a day. I should have not bought an extra because this kind of battery last longer than you can expect.
