Had read several reviews of this type of item with many of them indicating that the connection between this unit and the camera body was not very stable. My experience has been quite the opposite. Once attached this unit acts and feels as if it were part of the original camera body.

The addition of the grip to the D850 makes the camera easier to hold both in between shots and during shooting. It does add weight, but the balance, extra versatility, and of course the extra battery make it well worth it.

This battery grip is great when your "in" camera battery is low. You can use regular batteries or you can purchase a special battery for it.

Loved the grip right up until it stopped working 10 months after purchase. Feels good on the D850, looks good too. When it worked it was great, but for that kind of money I expected it to last a few years. Don't buy with out purchasing an extended warranty.
