Got this flash for weddings a few months ago and so far so good. The only drawbacks are recycle time during a lengthy strech of frames and the amount of batteries it uses up during a 4-5 hour shoot.

I really like this flash, and had coveted it for some time. It is the least expensive Nikon flash that allows you to get a ceiling bounce when holding the camera in portrait orientation. However, to be honest, it's a bit overkill for the average user. If they were to just include the swivel head feature on the SB-400, I would probably have gotten that instead for much less.

I wanted a name brand flash from Nikon as my main go to speedlight / flash. I chose this one as I'm a bit of a photography noob and couldn't tell you the difference between this and the SB-900 other than a large price difference. I have not run into any limitations as of yet with this flash, and it has performed great so far. I would buy again.

I use this flash with my Nikon D7000, it works great. I really like the flashes ability to bounce off of the ceiling. The built in bounce card is very useful. The flash has incredible power and has really improved my low light picture taking capabilities. The flash has enough power to take multiple pictures without stopping (the most I have taken is 4 in a row).

I'm a dedicate amateur and I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before I bought the SB-700. It is flexible (function and form) and it worked as expected from the very first time I used it. In retrospect I should have bought this flash long time ago as I can see the difference between images taken with the built-in flash of my camera and the images taken since I started using the SB-700.

The D500 like alot of pro level DSLR's doesn't have an internal flash and you will obviously come across a situation where its needed. Its worth the investment to spend a little extra money and get the Speedlight 700 because its something that could grow with your photography. Sure there is cheaper flashes which offer less control and far less features but its a phenominal mid level flash without breaking the bank.

I rented a couple different flashes to try out for a shoot I was going to be doing with dancers, and although this isn't the fanciest flash out there, I liked it best out of the ones I tried, especially for the price!

This is a great flash for a modern Nikon cameras. Works with the Nikon CLS to provide superior metering and exposure control. Comes with filters for fluorescent and incandescent lighting, to stop the super white flash that seems to ruin so many indoor night shots. Would like to see it come with the $11.00 SG-31iR, that would provide more creative control. Up to 4 SB-700s can be controlled by most cameras allowing for a super flexible studio lighting schema, with out all the fuss. Buy it and try it, best but has a great price on this.

I like the versatility of this flash, from full to partial power, the flash delivers great lighting.

I purchased this flash as a supplement to my DSLR small flash. I enjoy ease of the program capability of it. There are many features that I haven't used as of yet, but if you are looking for a flash that you don't have to think about how to use with your Nikon DSLR, this is a great entry flash.

I got this flash on the advice of a professional photographer friend, and his advice as spot on. This has opened up my photography, just the ability to bounce the flash and get rid of the dreaded red eye has helped me a lot, and the ability to slave other flashes will help me as progress

Flash works as advertised, very simple to use with my Nikon D750. Very fast and flexible.

This was a replacement for a previous speedlight that finally stopped working. This speedlight offers Master and Remote capabilities, good power, relatively fast recharge, and quick access to most functions. I pair this with Yongnuo flashes and Yongnuo triggers to allow for multiple off-flash setups. I consider this the least expensive Nikon branded full-featured speedlight for their DSLRs with a hotshoe.
