    Necessary for my home theater system. According to the Best Buy media system installers, the first one did not work properly; therefore, this one is serving as a replacement.

    This was the only solution to be able to connect my patio tv via the pre-installed Cat-5 cables that were set when my house was built. I had ordered some MUCH cheaper ones, that aren't powered, from Amazon and they were duds and didn't work. Save yourself the time and hassle and get this!

    Have not had any sync issues so far Not sure it's as good as an hdmi cable but. If you need a long run it's not a bad option
