I was excited to see that it came out on Blu-ray and couldn't wait to buy it. I had heard that Nina Simone's daughter didn't want this movie to made, and after watching it, I can kinda of see why. I am a huge Nina fan and this movie could have been so great, and fell flat in my eyes. I do love that there is interest in Nina Simone and I loved the documentary that came out on Netflix (What Happened Miss Simone?) and was much better then this movie... I only own it because the music is great and was impressed with Zoe Saldana's ability to sing the songs herself.. I would only recommend this movie to people who love her music or who want to see what kind of person she was..

The film was a great representation of the life of Nina Simone. Great acting. The vocal performances were exceptional. The make up for the female lead was very convincing.

The storyline is a birdseye view of Nina's life. Her songs were powerful because of her troubled life. Zoe did her justice.

I brought this flim for my mother I haven't personally watched it my self but it should be good

I brought this movie as a gift I haven't seen it to give description about it.

This one is a must for any fan of her music or any fans of true story movies.

My wife saw this movie on the TV and wanted me to add it to our BluRae collection and I was happy we were able to purchase it at a good price from BestBuy and we are looking forward to watching it as often as we want.

I had my thoughts about this before I bought it but I am so glad that I did. It really brings the story of Nina Simone to light. However, always get more information about her versus the movie. I promise you you will not be disappointed.

I felt this was a nice biopic for the late Nina Simone, despite some of the backlash over it. Nice acting by all who were involved and great scenes.

Uneven film of the life of Nina Simone. Go to the documentary WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? for a better telling.
