great indoor grill/griddle that everyone can use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t tell you how many Ninja products I’ve rated. I just know it’s been a lot! But the best part is that they are all STILL functioning pieces of equipment in my kitchen. This sizzle-smokeless indoor grill/griddle is no different. It’s very simple, but in a good way. Has one dial that can heat to 500 degrees F. Comes with 2 different cooking surfaces that you can swap out with one hand (and only when cooled down duh). The lid has a handle that you tilt up and it stays up, but can be removed completely from the machine if you lift it straight up. You can also do this with one hand, and effortlessly. Everything here seems designed towards convenience and ease of use. The 2 cooking surfaces they provide are the flat top griddle, and the grill (ribbed). Conveniently, has a little cheat graph on the front, showing you cooking temps and varying times for different foods. The lid is designed with little holes all over the top, I watched as I cooked my porkchops for the first time. The smoke & steam traveled all along the holes before releasing upwards out of the lid. Hard to see in the pic, but it’s visible above the grill if you look close enough. I believe that’s the whole technology and how they can call it smokeless. By the time it travels it dissipates so much, there’s not much left of it to fill the kitchen air with. Listen to the directions they provide, using avocado oil and grapeseed oil (oils with higher flash points) will def help your grill/griddle to remain smokeless. That’s important for indoor use. No one wants to set off the smoke alarm every night while cooking. Porkchops using the grill turned out good, pancakes and eggs cooked on the griddle perfectly, and didn’t stick. Last thing we made had a sticky chicken marinade of orange juice, and other sugars in the marinadfe. These got dark and worried me when done cooking. We let it cool completely down , and opened the lid. It was completely full of black burnt up seasonings/marinade. I touched it with my finger and it slid off effortlessly (see pictures). I literally cleaned it with one dry paper towel. Ninja magic my friends! I feel like everyone’s grandma would buy this if some forgotten celebrity did an infomercial on a Sunday, cooking and showing off features with a weird foreign sounding chef with ADHD, running around the screen performing wonders with the grill. Things of importance: This machine gets HOT….really hot… idk if you saw above or the pic, but 500 degrees is toasty. Do not run it near anything on your counter too close. I’m fortunate to have an island to use this on. It gets hot, but it takes a considerable amount of time. The front of the machine even tells you, let it warm up for at least…7 minutes. Every time I’ve used it, it takes longer than 7 minute. Be patient. Takes just as long to cool down, so be patient on the clean up also. A lot of metal on this machine, and if you touch anything in the wrong spot too soon, you’re going to get a little reminder not to do it again. All in all, this little indoor cooking machine seems like a fantastic buy for the price point and I would recommend it to anyone I know.

Love my Ninja Sizzle appliance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love, love, love this griddle/grill. In the couple weeks I've owned it, I've used it at least eight times. Never disappointed in the outcome of my dinner. Great for pancakes, bacon, sausage, burgers, hot dogs, eggs, hashbrowns, crapes, and grills vegetables beautifully. When I use smoked salt crystals, the burgers taste like they are charcoal grilled. I have not grilled steaks but hope to soon. I have my grill placed on my stove top so it's handy to use . I use it more than the stove. It is easy clean up...very easy!

It heats up quickly and cooks evenly, with minimal smoke, making indoor grilling a pleasure. Cleanup is a breeze thanks to the nonstick surfaces. Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love the Ninja products I have. This is a great addition. I like the size for the 2 of us but good for 2+ people too. I made my husband and I pork chops using the grill plate. Pork chops cooked evenly and food was really good. I made breakfast for 6 people using only the griddle. I cooked hash browns on one side and sausage on the other. When those were done, made the scrambled eggs. Excited to try making chicken fried rice on the griddle and trying asparagus on the grill plate. The non-stick is awesome! I don’t really consider this 100% smokeless. If you can set your fire alarm using the stove, you can set it using this too. But I would still buy this again. Ping noise every once in a while, not only during preheating. It’s a loud ping! Scared me at first but now I’m used to it, so not a big deal.

NOT Smokeless, but Cooks Food Nicely!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First thing I want to clarify, This is NOT smokeless as advertised. I made burgers the other day at the recommended setting and the smoke was pluming to my ceiling. I had to put it under my stove exhaust and turn on my exhaust fan to mitigate the smoke. If you can get past the misleading advertising, then read on because it gets better… I have used both the griddle plate and the grill plate(with the lines) and by far the griddle plate is my favorite and easiest to clean up. I have made shrimp and vegetables, burgers, bacon, rice, and corned beef hash! And everything I have cooked has cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. The flavor of the food is perfect. And the grease pit on the front of the plate is awesome too. As you’re cooking you can push the grease to the front and it falls down to the grease pit. Cooking on this indoor grill is also fun, we have enjoyed making eggs and veggies on this and you almost feel like a grill person that you might find in a deli. The heat distribution is also very even throughout the grill/griddle plate which is important because that means you get more usable cooking surface for your food. The coating on the grill/griddle plates is very nice, so far nothing has stuck to it and both clean up easily. The grill takes about 5-7 minutes to pre-heat and then you’re ready to go. We do find ourselves trying to use it more than our pans because the cooking surface it large and square and the food always seems to cook way better than anything else we have in the kitchen. The other negative that we have to mention, is that the grill plate stays hot for a long time, so after you cook you will have to let it sit for about an hour before you can pick up the plate to wash it. This is one of those things that you don’t think is a big deal until you go to clean the kitchen and can’t fully clean up because the unit stays so hot for so long you have to come back when it’s cool in order to finish. Now this is most likely why the plate cooks food so well and evenly, but I had to mention it as a con. Once cooked, the plate is very easy to clean just a sponge with some warm soapy water and it cleans right up. No issues there. All in all it’s not perfect, but it does cook food better than any pan or wok in my kitchen. As long as you can manage the smoke from making burgers or steaks you will like how it cooks food.

Sizzle=Awesome, Counter Space Premium
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a long time I’ve had admiration for Ninja products. In their categories there is not usually a big difference between features, but as a trusted brand they find the right balance between usefulness and pleasant aesthetics. My wife loves the look on our dark granite countertop, owning a Ninja Coffee machine, blender, knife set, and more. We also appreciate the durability and the fact that the Ninja team stands behind their products. We had a coffee machine fail after a couple of years long ago. A call to support asking if there was some way to reset or if it had expired during a reasonable lifespan. I wasn’t even asking, but the CSR was quick to offer a generous discount on their newer model. SOLD!! Customer for life. My wife was very excited when i decided to bring this Sizzle smokeless indoor grill home for review. One look at the delicious looking packaging was all it took. ‘Setup is super simple, unpackaged, wash before use, find a surface away from the animals (yes, she lets the cats on the counter, but this thing gets HOT, like SUPER HOT!!), plug it in and grill away. Using our traditional outdoor propane grill is an exercise in patience and balance. Even just simple burgers, we do our prep work inside, cutting tomatoes, fresh jalapeños, onions, pickles, lettuce, cheese, and lay it out with the condiments, and then have to shuttle food thru the animals, out of the kitchen to the back deck grill, and back. The Sizzle being indoor and smokeless is wasn’t sure if it was truly smokeless. It is, however one thing i didn’t count for was you don’t have the aroma for the neighbors to inquire who’s cooking out, and pre-salivate the glands in anticipation. On the contrary though, i enjoy the rewarding sizzle sound and ability to quick peek inside. The first set of burgers i presumed I’d cook as long as i do on the outdoor grill. This was a mistake as i overcooked them, not realizing the additional and consistent heat, and proximity to the heat source would shave off 2-3 minutes per side. While physically able to squeeze on 6 burgers it’s not ideal. The heat is evenly balanced and consistent (so there’s no need to know the hot zones in outdoor grill ) and cooks fast so it’s not a problem. The griddle size is more than adequate to make two large grilled cheese sandwiches, or two large quesadillas. I will say that this is not 100% smokeless, nearly every meal that I made my wife asked me to turn on the kitchen stove exhaust fan. It never triggered the air filter though which does happen sometimes depending what i cook. Pros + Convenient and lightweight + Precise temperature dial + Consistent and even heat + Perfect burgers every time + Love the nice char marks + Quick 6 minute heating + Grill and Griddle plates + Grease catch plates + Adequate cooking surface size + No Flies nor mosquitoes + Propane not needed + Grill Guide showing temps + NinjaKitchen web recipes + 500 degree F in minutes Cons -Takes up counter space -gets very very hot, DON’T TOUCH! -cleaning is cumbersome -odd pre-heat pinging sounds Conclusion My review tendency is to not jump the gun and prematurely write a review based on the novelty and newness that i later realize real world usage doesn’t match. My preliminary review was 5-star across the board, however i deduct one star from that for the following reason that may or may not affect your specific situation. The positives most definitely outweigh the negatives on the Ninja Sizzle Smokeless Grill & Griddle. While not a deal breaker, our kitchen is particularly small. The Sizzle footprint is not overly large, but unfortunately it does take up a lot of our limited counter space. Instead of a 100% on the counter appliance, we keep it under the counter now, and only get it out for burgers, steaks, and chicken, as it’s just easier to grab a pan for grilled cheese or eggs. Overall we really do love this product, and rate this as Recommended BUY.

Really Great Smokeless Indoor Grill
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ninja appliances are ALWAYS great and this new Ninja Sizzle is no exception. It's well made and it cooks fantastically well. It comes nicely packaged and includes everything you need, including the Smokeless Indoor Grill & Griddle, (14’’ Nonstick Grill Plate, 14’’ Nonstick Griddle Plate), and a Quick Start Guide with 10 Recipes. It's attractive and couldn't be easier to use either. Heat distribution is even, so you can use every inch of the grill surface and everything will cook at the same temperature! The Sizzle reaches a maximum temperature up to 500 degrees F. Since they say its smokeless, I imagined it must have a built-in fan to draw any smoke away. It doesn't, but there must be some magic built in as it really is smokeless while cooking. I've thus far grilled a steak and burgers on the grill and they cooked to perfection and with appetizing grill marks just like cooking on an outdoor grill. The nonstick grill plate is finished in a super finish, which is super easy to clean after grilling. In fact, even if you cook with the perforated lid closed, the lid removes easily and cleans up easily too. I haven't used the griddle plate but plan to make pancakes next! With all this praise, is there anything I'd change? From design to using it, no. The little manual they provide could be much better. It's somewhat confusing and it suggests you cook a steak (1.25") for example at 375 degrees for 14 - 22 minutes. It would be more helpful to provide cooking times for the level of doneness one prefers, such as rare, medium rare, well done. I cooked my bone in Ribeye steak for about 7 minutes per side, and it was overdone, as I prefer steak more rare. OK, I now know I need to cook a steak less. But providing more detail for meats, such as doneness would help. Otherwise, this Sizzle is simple to use, well made, looks great, cooks great and is a great new addition to my kitchen. I've honestly never been disappointed in anything I've gotten from Ninja!

Easy, Smokefree Grilling in Your Kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have been luckier with our outside temperatures than most of the U.S. Still this Ninja - Sizzle Smokeless Countertop Indoor Grill & Griddle already has come in handy, since the last few days have have been in the 90's and humid. There is nothing like grilling on a holiday weekend, and when the outside temperatures are uncomfortable (either too hot or too cold), it is really nice to be able to grill inside on your countertop. Especially since you don't have to put up with the smoke that your outdoor grill would produce. The Ninja Sizzle GR100 Series Grill and Griddle is another thoughtfully-designed, well-built product in the Shark / Ninja product family. It is an attractive, sturdily built, easy to use and simple to clean grill and griddle combination that has a relatively small footprint that fits well on our countertop. It comes with a brief owner's guide that gives you important details about using the grill that you need to know, such as: making sure to wash the grill and griddle plates before using them; making sure to use non-abrasives when cleaning; making sure to never submerse the base unit in water; making sure to run the unit at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes before cooking food for the first time; making sure to use the recommended temperature settings for the type of food you are cooking; and making sure to use a smoke free oil such as avocado, grapeseed, canola or refined coconut if oil is required. (Note that butter, olive oil, margarine and aerosol cooking sprays are not recommended because they will burn and create smoke.) I highly suggest reading this user's pamphlet thoroughly before starting; it will keep you from having unforeseen problems. The Ninja Sizzle also comes with a Quick Start Guide that contains cooking charts and 10 various recipes that will have your mouth watering. This guide presents cooking times and temps for a wide variety of food from steaks to veggies and fruits. Depending on the thicknesses of your foods, your cooking times may vary. Our first foray into using the Ninja Sizzle, we kept it simple and grilled a couple of hamburgers. We pre-heated the Sizzle grill at 325 degrees F for 7 minutes as suggested. We flattened the 1/4 lb. patties out rather thinly and, as we thought, they really shrank down to bun size as they cooked. We didn't experience any smoke, just steam and some grease splatter. We cooked the patties for 5 minutes on a side for 10 minutes total. They came out juicy, but well done when we took them off the grill. After eating and allowing the Sizzle to cool, we unplugged the unit and then we wiped off the grill and grease catcher with a wet paper towel. Then we removed both the grill and the removeable splatter lid and soaked them in warm, soapy water for a few minutes, sponged them clean, then let them air dry. This process is so much easier than cleaning the outdoor grill. All in all, it was easy using the Ninja - Sizzle Smokeless Countertop Indoor Grill & Griddle. The results were quick cooking and tasty burgers. I would suggest this to a friend.

Overall, a nice addition to your kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ninja Sizzle smokeless indoor griddle is an excellent addition to your kitchen - especially if you want to consolidate multiple countertop appliances. I needed a new griddle/grill as our old one broke after ten years, and the Ninja's features looked like a great replacement. I like that it offers interchangeable griddle and grill plates, and each griddle/grill plate has a built in grease collection that doesn't leak out on the counter when in use. Putting this grill/griddle to the test was a delicious endeavor. The first thing I noticed about this griddle when setting it up is that the grill/griddle plates are not as heavy as I expected - I suspect they are coated aluminum. The surface is perfectly smooth, and as mentioned before, it has a nice, deep grease collection tray built in. It doesn't hold a lot of grease but holds enough for most cooks on an appliance like this. If you did have to empty the grease tray mid-cook, it would be difficult as you must take the whole cooking plate off the heating unit, which will be REALLY hot. The other thing I noticed is that the temperature dial is nowhere representative of the actual temperature of the grill/griddle surface. I had the griddle set at 350ish, and the temperature of the griddle top varied from around 480 at the lowest to over 500 in some spots. I noticed that the griddle's surface was always much hotter than the knob stated when measured with an infrared surface temperature thermometer. As I mentioned, the cooking surface is very smooth - when I added oil to the griddle surface, it all pooled in one spot and did not spread around evenly and flow onto the surface, which made cooking pancakes a challenge - in locations where the oil pooled, I got a nice, crunchy texture. The pancakes had a flatter-softer texture in spots where the oil did not pool. I also tried cooking smash burgers on the griddle - This worked just OK - I think the cold meat lowered the temperature of the griddle surface a bit. The burgers steamed initially rather than getting that pleasant Maillard reaction when you drop the burger balls onto a hot, heavy surface like rolled steel or cast iron that can retain the heat a bit better. Closing the lid while cooking smash burgers did save a giant mess on the counter - and did keep a bit of the odor in. The other side of this coin is that I had to spend a bit of time cleaning the inside and outside of the closable lid from the grease that cooked out of the food, which isn't the most convenient task. However, the bottom of the griddle did not make the granite countertop hot like my old griddle- making me feel much better about cooking on the countertop. Lastly, I didn't realize how small the cooking surface is. I could comfortably cook three burger patties or three pancakes comprised of slightly over 1/4 cup of batter. I could probably squeeze four of each on the griddle top, but it would be very crowded. Overall, if you can live with a smaller cooking surface and have a way to monitor temperatures to ensure you're not cooking too hot - this is an excellent addition to your arsenal of kitchen gadgets. It's much easier than cooking on my larger outdoor grills and griddles - perfect for time-crunched nights or when it's just too cold to cook outside.

Awesome Product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this griddle/ grill. It says smoke free and so far it has been. I even made armadillo eggs and fried bacon. No smoke. I could finally make those without setting off my smoke alarms. Once I learned that the lid does in fact come off I liked it even more. I used to have a George Foreman and really liked it but clean up was very hard and after a while it got to looking pretty gross. This one is by far easier to clean. I cook for one so I can just about put my whole meal on there and only dirty one thing. That is very nice. I haven't found any dislikes about it yet. The one I had about the lid coming off was operator problems. It does come off. It seems well made and sturdy. Heats properly to my knowledge. Shipping was fast. I'm really glad I got it. I highly recommend.

Mixed feelings. Decent product, but hard to clean
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start off, I really like Ninja products. I own 3 other different kitchen appliances that have all been VERY solid for what they perform and do. When I first received the Sizzle, I was very excited! As the product states, it's both a griddle and indoor grill with interchangeable plate depending on what you want to cook. It also comes with a handy cookbook with recommended temps for most types of food. I've already made eggs, steak, chicken breast, and hotdogs all within the first week. THE REVIEW: My experience has been mixed depending on the type of food I make, but I will go into further detail on each of them. For eggs: The recommended settings are kind of hit or miss.. If you want to make sunny side up, I would recommend using a little bit of oil or butter with the lid shut, or else the bottom will fry up like a pancake with half your egg remaining uncooked with recommended temp setting. For scrambled, the recommended setting is okay if you're consistently attentive to the product itself and remove it very quickly from the griddle plate. I will have to experiment with lower temperatures as I continue using the product as time goes on. I just haven't had much of a chance past the first two-three days I tried making eggs. For steak: It generally performs better than I expected.. The product will leave grill marks and generally cook a portion of NY strip within its recommended temp/time frame. For medium rare this takes around 5-6 minutes on each side. Pretty solid taste and experience. For Chicken breast: It's what you would expect. Cooks generally fine within its recommended settings. Can't really complain about it. Great taste. For Hotdogs: I have mixed feeling on the grilling plate. It doesn't cook like an outdoor grill, but more like a hybrid alterative. Skinned hotdogs don't really get dark and only have some slight grill marks...even with lid down, and cooking for longer than recommended temp. An Air fryer generally gets closer to what the grill can do for hotdogs specifically. The biggest caveat? The grilling plate is extremely annoying to clean if you cook with any kind of oil or butter. This is the biggest "problem" I have as you need time to wait for the plate to cool (30+ minutes of it being off), remove it, and then soap and scrub it every time you end up using it...This takes an hour or two depending on your day to day schedule and how you plan to clean the plates and or device itself due to oil splatter. The top cover WILL get dirty too. Overall.. I enjoy it for certain things.. but I may go back to other methods for certain types of food. Might have to experience with alternative temps than what the book states. Cleaning the device properly and time it takes is my biggest gripe, but its the nature of the material and oils used.
