    A Crazy Idea That Works

Only an established brand like Ninja could develop and launch such a niche item like this one and get everything so right. For any other brand, the risk would outweigh the potential success. As for a review, I need to clarify a few things upfront. The 7-in-1 description is potentially misleading - this is a cooking device designed to be used outside as (1) a grill, (2) a smoker, (3) an air fryer, & (4-7) an oven. It can cook with heat from below, with heat from above, with air circulation, and, most notably, with smoke. The base unit that I have includes a grill and an air frying crisper basket. Ninja offers a griddle plate, a cover, and a (short) collapsible grill stand as accessories. But what makes this item unique is the integration of pellet smoking. Ninja is betting on people purchasing bags of their tiny smoking pellets (and I think it's a good bet). Unlike traditional large pellet smokers that utilize compressed wood pellets for fire (heat) and for smoke, this Ninja controls heat electronically and delivers smoke for flavor using only a small heated pellet chamber. Ninja includes a brief, but helpful, recipe book that serves as an introduction and quick start guide. And while I don't think you can fit a 9 lb. brisket point in this hefty unit, I was easily able to smoke a 5 1/2 lb. pork half boneless Boston butt roast for pulled pork (see photos). Package includes enough smoking pellets to support about six smoking sessions. The wood smoke produced is incredible and amazingly strong for the amount of pellets used (just over a half cup each time). The grilling tray and air frying basket are solid and non-stick and both clean easily with hot water and a soapy rag. The unit, itself, retains a smoky smell and will need to be stored in a garage or porch/patio between uses. This is a great portable electric grill and mini smoker. It can't replace a large-chambered smoker for quantity but it can more than keep up in quality for smaller tasks. On the road, this would serve as a crowd-pleasing air fryer and mini oven. Enthusiastically recommended. Thanks to Ninja for trying-out a crazy idea like this that actually works.

I will start by saying this is a great option for those looking for an all in one outdoor appliance. It is easy to tote around so we plan to take it with us camping. It is also easy to clean. All I had to do was remove the grill tray, woodchip box, and drip pan and clean them with mild soap and water. Using the grill feature was a little different than using a regular grill. We decided to cook 4 steaks that were about 1" thick. The woodchips were a nice addition to the flavor. We could definitely taste the smokey flavor. The timing on the grill was a little off. We had to cook them longer than the instructions. The booklet that came with it said that we could cook 4 steaks at the same time. While it was possible to fit them on the grill top, I would recommend 2 or 3 maximum at one time. We noticed that the steaks cooked a little unevenly. It is still a good purchase. I am excited to try a lot of the other functions when the weather is nicer. Unfortunately I got this grill right when we were getting rain and 30 degree days. There are 6 other features that I am excited for, mostly the air fryer and baking options. Overall great product.

So far we’ve made steaks, ribs, smoked pork for tacos, salmon, and chicken on this grill. Everything has been perfect. perfectly done, perfect smoky flavor, and super easy. Just use the Settings from the recipe book and the grill tells you everything you need to do and when to do it. It made the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life. Our only gripe has been the smoking feature. Sometimes you just want to add a little smoke while somethings grilling and that’s not really what it is set up to do outside the smoker setting. It also burns through a lot of pellets while preheating the smoker. These are minor gripes though. The ability to wash the grate 100% clean and not have food falling through a grill rack has been really nice. It puts a better sear on the food than my gas grill ever did. Its also a lot easier to store because it heats up and cools down quickly (our gas grills were always rusting from being forgotten while waiting to cool down to store them).

The Ninja 7 in 1 grill is a nice cooking gadget for those that want the versatility to be able to cook several different ways with the same appliance or one who is tight on space. Note, any smoking must be done outdoors! I decided to test the smoker first and a hunk of pork was the chosen dish. I set the Grill up outdoors on our patio table. I was concerned for the glass table top, but there was very little radiated heat on the bottom. After seasoning up the pork, it got placed on the smoker to cook. One included scoop full of the pellets filled the smoker basket perfectly and off it went. Honestly, this is my first time attempting to smoke anything. I was a little worried how it would come out. Near the end of the cook time, tossed some green beans in with it to see how they turned out. The pork was very moist, tender and tasty. The bark was textured well and had a nice smokey taste to it. Clean up went quickly, quick sponge and hot water got it looking new. Empty out the grease trap and ready for the next meal. The following day, time for some chicken wings in the air fryer setting. Got some bagged non-frozen wings from the store, already seasoned. Put them in for 30 minutes per the directions and was very happy with the results. Like the pork, the chicken was very tender and moist. I look forward to preparing more meals using all of the settings.

Oh my goodness, where to start with the Ninja - Woodfire 7-in-1 Outdoor Grill...etc. I say etc because this is more than just a grill. If you're on the product page you know what this thing does. It's a grill, a smoker and air fryer. It has a dehydrate, roast and broil setting as well. For this review I used 2 pounds of pork tenderloin, marinated in pepper/garlic. I fired up this badboy and within minutes was able to just put the meat on the grill then close the lid. Before firing up said badboy, you'll also want to add wood pellets to the pellet drop. This will allow the smoker to give your food a kind of smokey robust kind of flavor. I myself am not a smoked meats expert. I've never smoked any meat. This being my first time grilling this way, it's flipping awesome. I only needed to flip the meat once. I set this at 250 degrees, timer at 2 hours and it was done. This is "easily pull the meat apart" pork that I wouldn't have been able to replicate on my full size Weber. I cannot praise this product enough and fully look forward to many more meats to be smoked in the future. I'll update this review once I've tried a few other foods on it. The best part of this also the cleanup, it took me 5 minutes to clean this up and put it away. Go buy one, you won't regret it!

I only gave this 3 stars for a couple design issues, and functionality. I’m a backyard cooking fanatic. Currently I have a full size electric smoker, a 22” & 26” charcoal grill, and a Flat top grill on my deck. My wife plead her case that I have a small problem. Funny enough, when she’s enjoying the food, there’s no complaints. What I’m getting at, is that I’m always in the market for a new cooking device, or something to supplement or compliments my other equipment. Had the opportunity to cook only a few things so far. I used the air fryer capability to cook chicken breasts. That took way longer than it should have. I used the recipe book that came with the product, but the grill had to be restarted numerous times to finish cooking the chicken thoroughly. I used the grill function to cook some burgers, and I used the smoker to smoke a beef eye of round. Best result was the eye of round. Nice little portable smoker. That said, an eye of round is a very lean cut, and does not take long to cook. I need to get a big pork butt on this to see how long. I will go into detail as to why I’m only giving this 3 stars, but first the Pros. PROS: Portable and not too heavy. Would be great for tailgating. Lots of different functions as the name attests to. Great side grill to help if you are lacking real estate on your charcoal or gas grills. Clean up is relatively easy. Super easy to use, all functions well explained, and works well. (not a surprise to me, CONS: Size, not much room when it comes to cooking surface Handles were not too bad to install, but a couple screws cracked the plastic when tightening with very little torque on the screwdriver used. Handles are just too darn big, cumbersome, and make handling the 7-in-1 frustrating to wrangle. Related to the handles, BIG WARNING here, the top of the grill is VERY top heavy. Be extremely careful when transporting or picking up. If you’re not careful, the top will flip open when you pick it up, and could cause you to drop the product, hurting yourself in the process, or whatever it lands on. Ninja is awesome, I have no doubt they will fix this issue. They really missed the boat on this one though. Definitely something that should be re-designed. Only able to use Ninja brand wood pellets to smoke with. What kind of garbage is that?? If I smoke anything that takes significant time, scared to think of how many of the Ninja brand wood chips ,this thing would burn through, literally. Used to own a lean mean grilling machine. It had a lid like this cooker, and the same grates on the cooker surface as this Ninja 7-in-1. Missed opportunity here is the need for a small handled plastic scraper like the mean green grill had. This grill didn’t come with one. It was simply a small plastic -paint scraper looking tool, except there was grooves on the end that fit down into the grill grooves. Google it Ninja, sometimes it’s the little things. There should be one of those plastic scraper tools in every 7-in-1 product box. I would not recommend this product in it’s current state.

Super easy process smoking the ribs. Treated it like a normal smoker but in much less time. Ribs came out juicy and tender. No smoke ring but who cares. They were super flavorful and a hit to those thst were able to snag some. As an avid ninja foodi user this definitely completed the collection for me.

This this is awesome! I rent and you know charcoal grills are off limits most of the time. This does an amazing job and the smoke cage adds greatly to the experience... not just the smell but the flavor. I prefer the more robust chips... I have cooked everything from marinated chicken breast, carne asada (given the enthusiastic seal of approval by my Mexican relatives), and I've roasted vegetables. Everything turned out amazing... Just last week, I cooked hashbrowns for weekend breakfast and they were crispy, brown and excellent. It is so easy to clean as well. No, don't put the surface or crisper grates in the dishwasher but the ceramic non-stick coating cleans up super easy. Two accessories I definitely recommend are the half-size crisper pan and the griddle. With the half-sie crisper you can cook something in there in the contained area then have the grill on the other side for something else... all cooking at the same time. As with most Ninja appliances, I highly recommend this for sure!

I got the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill after having very positive experiences with multiple Ninja branded appliances, from my dual basket air fryer, a blender/smoothie maker, and even the Ninja Foodi NeverStick cookware. Ninja products may cost a little more than competing products, but in my experience, they are of higher quality and will last much longer than other brands. I feel the same way about the Woodfire Outdoor Grill. It feels substantial and inspires confidence that it will last. The combined feature list is such that there really isn’t a competitor to this product; it does so many things: Grill, Smoke, Roast, Bake, Dehydrate, Air Crisp, and Broil. It has both a grill grate for your burgers and steaks, as well as a basket for air frying chicken wings, which was the first thing I did with this little miracle worker after unboxing it. The grill comes with two 2-pound pouches of pellets created exclusively for this grill by Bear Mountain Pellets. Now, you don’t *have* to use pellets when you cook on this grill, it works just fine without them. However, this is after all the Woodfire grill, so why wouldn’t ya? My only grumble here is that the pellets, made by Bear Mountain, only come in 2 pound packages that cost more than the 20 pound bags of Bear Mountain pellets I use in my Recteq RT-700 Bull. The pellets for the Woodfire are smaller, but aside from the size of the pellets, I don’t see a difference. I wish these pellets were priced more in line with other pellets from the same company. You are basically paying over 10 times the price per pound than you would for Bear Mountain pellets for every other pellet grill on the market Back to the chicken wings, they were absolutely fantastic! Crispy skin, you could taste the smoke flavor, cooking was even across the entire basket, and they were done in 30 minutes. My next cook was a hamburger and a jalapeno/pineapple brat from our local butcher, which I used the grill grates with on the Grill setting, and again using the wood pellets. 10 minutes after the preheat, they were done and absolutely delicious. As a single guy, I can see myself using the Woodfire often for quickly cooking burgers, brats, and chicken. It does an awesome job, and I enjoy cooking outside. As previously stated, I wish the pellets were less expensive. The other thing missing to me is Wi-Fi; this is the perfect product for having an app so you can see what stage it is in (Ignition if you’re using the pellets, Pre-heat, or Cooking), along with time remaining. If they had Wi-Fi and an app, they could then include a temperature probe so the app could report the temperature inside the grill, as well as the internal food temperature. I think that would be a huge selling point, especially with many pellet grills already having this feature as standard. In conclusion, this is a revolutionary, first-of-its-kind product that is well built, feature packed, and cooks and smokes amazingly well. I highly recommend the Ninja Woodfire Grill; I just hope they re-visit the price point of the pellets and consider adding Wi-Fi to future models. Well done, Ninja!

This is a great electric portable grill with smoke infusion. I am amazed how good the food tastes; juicy, smoky, crispy cooked very quickly. I own 4 pellet grills and 2 Weber kettles. The smoke flavor is comparable to the pellet grills cooking foods in just over half the time. I don’t get smoke rings but the food is juicy and well crusted. The cleanup could not be faster and easier. When using Woodfire feature, it is definitely an outdoor grill. This is great for one to two people cooks or traveling to a destination with outdoor electric outlets like a timeshare. Need to use non metal utensils as it is a ceramic non stick coated cooking surfaces. This device also allows for experimentation for new types of food by using smoke and air fryer options simultaneously like air fried smoked chicken or smoky French fries. Of course it’s also a great outdoor air fryer without the smoke feature as well, especially for those smelly foods you don't want lingering in the house. I using this 3-4 times a week. I even have my 12 year old daughter learning to cook on it. It is very easy to produce great tasting food.

I used to cook on an electric grill and then I went to gas and charcoal. Going back to an eletric I was worried about the same flavor being on nonexistent , but the woodpellet ninja smoker all food becoems rich, flavorful, and delicious. Cooking on an electric grill I would argue is even better when smoking. My favorite thing to make is brisket. I also live in a place we’re having a grill outside all the time is inoperable so having this grill being portable makes it really easy to not just take out to use in the backyard but also travel to places in case I want to spice up any barbecue with a nice suprise brisket or smoked meat. There is also a dehydrating function, but I haven’t had a chance to use that but I am super excited to try that portion out as well. Overall, I would say I am very happy with my purchase.

So far I’ve only used it twice and both times I have been quite pleased. First time was just some simple shrimp skewers and they turned out fine. The second time I grilled a couple of steaks and they really good. Had a nice smoky flavor from using the pellets and were cooked to perfection. The appliance basically walks you through everything. It lets you know when the smoker is pre heating whether using the pellets or not; it tells you when to put the food on it, when to turn the food over and when it’s done. No complaints about the grill/smoker at all, just wish the stand had been available at the time that I bought the grill
