He's only 4, but he'll learn how to play throughout time. He got the hang of it real quick. I love that it comes with super mario bros with it!

Also, very easy to carry even though it does not fold. Would prefer better battery life, but overall great value at $80.

At its price point I'm sure it is a great product for a younger child. But to catch up on all the latest things Mario I would opt for the new 2DS XL.
