Bought this as a surprise gift for my 8-year-old and he loves it. He has never had any of these handheld type games, but he picked up the operation very quickly. We are still learning about all the things it can do, but general set up was very easy and was able to start playing right away.

Easy to use, bright colors and simply a lot of fun. We like that you can turn on or off the 3D feature and enjoy the device both ways. Even my five year old navigates it's use easily.

Bought this game console for my 5 year old boy, he loves to play with sister/brother that have a 2DS and with his Dad that has another 3DS. Loved the color and the option to control the 3D feature. I have a 2 year old daughter and a 3 year old son that also play with it and love it.

Old standard DS had been quite durable and survived many drops, so I surprised my sons with new 3 DS's this year. They have been played for hours and said how much better the graphics are that the old models. Kudos to Nintendo too for making new products that support the old games!!!

I picked up the 3DS XL because I knew I wanted a Nintendo product eventually to play the big first party games Nintendo offers only to be floored by the experiences this device brings. The graphics are above or equal to the GameCube and when you throw in 3d into the mix it makes the graphics pop even more. I carry it around with me everywhere I go and it replaced my smart phone as far as portable gaming. I highly recommend this product to anyone!

Love playing the games with the larger screen. The three d feature is fun. Sometimes gives me a headache. It is harder to carry around because of the larger size. Can be heavy.

The system itself is a nice piece of equipment, absolutely LOVE the larger screens compared to my DSLite. A tad on the heavy side after a couple of hours... leaves a groove across your palm. The 3D effect seems kinda pointless to me, but I was informed of that prior to my purchase. No major complaints about the actual system though. I bought this almost exclusively to play "Zelda: A Link Between Worlds". I bought it during a sale at Target for $150.00, thank you price match. I had a DSLite going into this purchase and I already knew the majority of the DS game library was literally for little girls. So it easily plays my existing handful of DS games, but I miss having the ability to play the GBA game library as the games were better, if not just geared more towards more mature gamers of both genders. The Street Pass application/game is pretty cool and I've enjoyed that aspect of owning this portable. Another plus was the ability to access Club Nintendo for Virtual Arcade games, even if they are a bit on the pricey side ($5 each) for 30 year old ported games. Donkey Kong 3 is a blast and I look forward to purchasing a couple more once I save up a bit of "disposable" income.

The 3ds xl is a pretty nice piece of kit. For its size, it is very light without sacrificing durability or feeling cheap. The battery life is much better than its smaller counterpart. The 3d works much better than i was anticipating. Some people, myself included, are going to take a while to get used to the very limited viewing field where the 3d actually works. Could use a second circle pad on the right side or a circle pad pro in the box. All in all, good product with a fantastic lineup of games.

Love the new 3DS XL versus the original, worth the upgrade. Please note that the red shown in the picture is a bit brighter than the actual unit, it's close to a burgundy color, but I would say it's dark red. Either way, she loved it! This unit does not disappoint.

This is my first 3DS system and it's really fun to use along with a wide selection of games. The blue is a moderate hue and metallic, thus looking sophisticated rather than like glossy plastic. The large screen size compliments the 3D gimmick very well, and the option to adjust the intensity of the 3D is useful for those times when I'd rather enjoy a game the classic way. While the size is a great advantage, it also has a flaw in that I've personally found it a little bit heavy and difficult to grip while using the stylus simultaneously. However, this is still a great system that I would definitely recommend to anybody.

I skipped the 3ds launch knowing Nintendo would eventually release an upgraded version and boy, am I glad I did. The 3d is really neat, the screen is a whole lot bigger and better, the games out for the system are good and diverse (Mario land, Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem, Zelda, Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong Country Returms, etc), the eShop is always growing (Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons just released!), and of course it is fun for kids and adults. The battery life isn't the best when you're using the 3d so that's a bummer but don't let it deter you from enjoying another great Nintendo product.

I have to say I didn't expect it to be that much better then a regular 3Ds but it does have a more complete feel if you know what I'm mean. The extra many is worth it although I got a deal on mine. But if you don't see a desire for the bigger screen, the regular one has all the same features so whatever fits your needs and budget. I say buy, it's a Nintendo handheld device and you won't be disappointed.

In short, I love my 3DS. As someone who owns a DS and a Wii, the 3DS falls somewhere in between the two. It does everything the DS did, including playing DS games and has a better more fleshed out Nintendo Shop store. Battery life is surprisingly good, though I rarely use the 3D or keep it turned way down if I do. That said the 3D is done REALLY well on some games and does look cool, it just hurts my eyes after a short time and if you don't hold it just right you'll see the two separate images and it's aggravating. Overall I really love my 3DS, it has a solid library, good online shop and cool features.

    Best System Going

Lets face it, a gaming system is only as good as its games, and right now the 3DS has some amazingly fun games going for it. The 3D works, but can be problematic if you get outside the viewing angle. I don't really use the 3D function anymore, but it is a neat function if your head or hands aren't moving around. The controls work well and I typically get 4-5 hours of play out of the battery. I own pretty much every current gen. gaming system with the exception of the Wii U, and I play the 3DS more than any of the others. Mario is fun, Fire Emblem has me enthralled, and my wife loves Animal Crossing.

I like this product, although I would have loved to buy the newest 3DSXXL with a bigger screen and better features. Best buy was SOLD OUT at my local store and online with no definitive answer as to when more would be in stock for purchase. Overall my 6 year old loves it, and I can't complain because it was cheaper... So as the saying goes .. "You get what you pay for"

I wasn't going to purchase this at first-- but once a couple of games I wanted game out, I gave in and ran out to Best Buy to pick one up. The larger screen makes all the difference! I'm still trying to get used to the 3D, but it works great most of the time. There are those occasional moments where things are moving too quickly on the screen that the 3D has to come off for me to be able to focus, but those times are becoming fewer as time goes by. I love this little guy!

Going from the DS to 3DS XL was a huge difference on view pleasures for either game play, YouTube, NetFlix, etc. Having the option to increase or decrease the 3D viewing also is a plus! Traveling in your pocket also keeps track of your steps as well.

Keeps kids occupied on long trips or at wrestling meets. Larger screen doesn't hurt the eyes and the ability to turn off the 3D portion a good idea. I dint want my children having messed up vision later in life. Liked so much, we bought 2systems.
