Another fantastic product from Nintendo and a worthy upgrade from anyone who owns an old 3DS. The 2DS XL contains the same hardware as the New 3DS XL except $40 cheaper AND it even comes with a free charger which costs about $15. You're getting a really awesome value here. The only thing you lose out on is the 3D feature which doesn't even work with most 3DS games. You also don't have to screw open the backplate to remove the SD card anymore. It is conveniently located next to the cartridge slot and protected by a cover that flips open. Now as far as the design of the Pikachu edition, it is absolutely beautiful. The matte finish also feels very natural and premium compared to the glossy cheap finish on the New 3DS XL. The color schemes make it easier to see buttons in low light and the rearranged button layout on the 2DS XL is also more ergonomic and your thumbs wont hurt as much on extended gaming sessions. Besides, who doesn't love Pikachu? I'm a grown man who grew up watching Pokemon in Japanese, and even I think Pikachu is super cute and squishy. Overall, I highly recommend this version over the blue and orange ones. Better buy one quick before they sell out!

The New 2DS XL is the must have handheld for kids or 3D-haters. Like the new 3DS series it has more power than the older models, can read Amiibo and can play SNES virtual console games. The screen is way bigger than the old 2DS. This special Pikachu edition looks gorgeous. Its not a print, its a 3D mould. An amazing edition of an amazing console. Sure, the Switch IS the future but this little bad boy built up quite the software library, let me tell you, and it ain't over yet.

Contrary to the title, I find myself playing this thing at home on my couch or in bed. I love the fact that this device supports (most of) the older ds games as well as the 3ds games (obviously not in 3d which is fine with me). The software on the system performs well and the battery life is very good. On average, I play anywhere from 3-8 hours a week, and I end up charging the system about once a week. This thing is fairly durable for plastic, and has survived a couple drops (folded). The hinges for the top screen dont seem to be very sturdy though, because the top screen will flop fairly easily. That is the only thing that feels "cheap" on this $249 device.

This was my first DS purchase and I am very impressed. Compared to other older models I've held this one is much lighter. The screen is great, easy to see, and there is texture on the front face of the DS. The nose protrudes as well as the cheeks. Overall it's a beauty.

Very nice design. Nice to hold for people with bigger hands and I really enjoyed the screen size increase from the regular 3ds. Also the little nose and cheeks on pikachu pop out a bit and just adds to the detail

Super Cute console. Won't fit in standard cases because of the contoured top. Great design. Lighter than 3DS.

This 2ds is really cute and I love it! I have both this and the pokeball one! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because when I got my Pikachu 2ds the game and SD cover was very loose and kept popping out while I was using it. I had to exchange it, the second one was fine!

I already had the 2ds xl but couldn't help but get this pikachu version. It's absolutely adorable. The nose feels different from the rest of the outside casing. I love how the different features of the face are raised. I love how unique they made this ds. Definitely worth the buy for a Pokemon fan. I would advise buying a case to keep the casing from getting marks in travel.

Bought this for my daughter to play ds games on. She loves how cute it is. I was worried the raised nose would be troublesome for cases. But it’s fine. Good luck finding one ya this point however, it’s pretty much a collectors version at this point.

my son loves pokemon and needed a new 3ds xl but he doesnt use the 3d so this is a no brainer! Huge 3ds and DS game library at our disposal and happy to still have 3ds vames coming out!

The design is adorable! I'm a huge Pikachu fan! I chose this not only for the cute look, but because 3D hurts my eyes, so I had to shop for a 2Ds.

Nothing says Pokémon like pikachu! We’ve all grown up loving the game so why not play it on a system that shows your dedication and loyalty to the Pokémon brand!

Super CUTE!!! my son wanted an updated version to his 3DS and opted for this 2DS XL because of the nice design. He LOVES PIKACHU.

This is like every other new 2ds XL. It had a great screen and plays all 3ds games. But it's styled like Pikachu and looks amazing!!!

I already have a 3DS but I could not resist from purchasing this cute 2DS!. To be honest, I like this more than my old 3DS.
