I wanted a New 3DS but the XL screen was too big and made the picture look bad. This smaller screen was perfect for my new games and was half the price of the XL. If you can find this item ID highly recommend it.

I haven't owned a handheld console since the gameboy color (yes I'm old school) and thought I'd get something to entertain me during my work lunch breaks. I was originally looking into an older GBA until I stumbled across this special edition 3DS. I wasn't sure about it at first, since I've never used one but I thought it was just $100 (awesome deal) and if I didn't like I could always return it. Got it in the mail, took it out of the packaging and loved it. Great size all around, nice Mario theme cover, and tons of fun to play with. Lots to do and plenty to download. Haven't tested out playing online and connecting with a WiiU, but will get there eventually. Would highly recommend!

We bought this for our 4 year old along w some educational games to help with his hand eye coordination and help teach him various things. It's easy for him to handle and small fingers to reach the controls. The 3D is neat and this is something he can continue to use as he gets older and no longer wants the educational games

I got this item during their black friday sale (which happened on a thursday, so really black thursday). I owned the 3DS XL before this and the size was a downgrade BUT it really isnt an issue for me. The original 3ds is smaller than this product so its still an upgrade. Its good for younger kids because of the size but also great for the older crowd because it can fit anywhere and barely takes up space in a jacket pocket or purse. !! My friend's console was damaged when he first got it and if you have any issues, go to nintendo support to get a repair order started, depending on what the issue is, they will fix it for free !!

This is an awesome system! We ordered the new 3DS for our son for Christmas and he loves it. It is compact and easy for kids to hold and there are tons of fun games to play!!

Great handheld console. I prefer this over the XL as it is more portable. There is also a great library of games. Would have been great if it had an IPS screen.

I got mine the moment they went live online. Its a cheap 3DS with a cool Mario cover. Honestly I prefer the XL over this one, but for the price you cant really complain.

I held out on the 3DS until this deal came out on Black Friday '16. It's the perfect size, great price and tons of great games. If you can find this edition, jump on it.

Good value for on sale price of $99.99 Doesn't require online pay to play like you have to on the PS4 and Xbox one. New games coming out and has classics as well.

Bought this device on thanksgiving day. It's a great product and the screen size is decent enough for 3D gaming. For $100 I found it well worth it.

$99 for a New 3DS is a great deal! I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't pack a power adapter with the "New" line but the games are great!

Use to have a 3DS XL and I like this size, not too small or big. Faster than the old model and the cover plates are nice to personalize.

this thing is nice and small to fit in ur pocket not like the xl. Also its black so that's a plus on my side. Ps u need to buy a charging cable and bigger memory(comes with 4gb) don't know why they don't say that on the box that's why I knocked 1 star off.

I initially was going to buy an XL and I am not convinced that I won't still. The unit can be a bit cramped if you have large hands. But for $99 dollars, this is a great little system. The 3d works amazing with the new facial targeting. The battery life is also very good. The speakers could be louder but I usually play with headphones anyway. Definitely worth it especially when you consider than an XL is double the price! I gave it 5 stars because its really an excellent system for the price despite some of its flaws.

So much lighter than my 3ds xl. But battery dies faster. Was hoping that my hands wouldn't cramp like with the 3ds xl but they still do. One is too small and the other too big. Best thing to do is buy a grip whatever system you have. Games looks better than the xl but of course the screen is smaller. Love the matte faceplates. The fact that they're replaceable means no bulky cases to protect the system. Would definitely recommend the smaller size. Lots of trade offs but still a great system.

I love my New Nintendo 3DS! it looks great the 3d is very good and it is just the right size and for $100 a great deal! :)

The New 3DS is fun to play on and easy to use. Works great. The only down side was having to buy the charger separately.

Ever since the release of the New 3DS other regions had multiple colours available for the XL and standard 3DS, while the US had the XL and eventually limited released of the white New NIntendo 3DS. The new 3DS plays most games much better and with slightly lower load times, the black colour blends into the background while playing games and I feel helps them be more immersive. The option to customize it with changeable faceplates is one of my favourite features for it.

Bought this as an upgrade from my original 3DS and fits the bill nicely. Battery life is much better compared to the original, was able to play for about four hours without needing to recharge and with 3D at about mid setting. Only downside is the faceplates (at least that come with this console) are a bit too smooth and can almost make you feel like the console will slip out your hands when carrying it. A minor gripe though and still a good upgrade if you have the original.
