The game has many similarities to both Dark Souls in the way that every encounter with an enemy counts and every fight can end your run. It's what makes Dark Souls so rewarding and stressful all at the same time. It also has a GREAT loot system like Diablo where you're always getting new equipment and weapons and switching those out for the one that has the best stats. But Nioh has it's own style and it's fighting system is so much more complex and detailed.
