This game is really fun when you just need to explore and forget about reality for a little bit. The LE is packaged with nice comic and artbook.

I was like a lot of people, extremely excited for this game. The game itself is fun to play, the different planets and systems are fun to travel to and explore. However, after awhile you learn that you will be doing a lot of the same things over and over again. The game can be fun, but once you get further along, the game boils down to an endless cycle of resource collection and inventory management. The game is vast and beautiful, I just wish there was more to do. Hopefully in the future they will add some of the features they originally envisioned for the game. I don't regret my purchase and I would recommend it, but I would wait until more features are implemented.

It isn't 100% the game that was marketed leading up to launch. But there's still a lot to like and hopefully with future updates we will finally see the game it should have been.

This game has been fraught with mixed reviews, and my own will in fact be somewhat mixed, but I feel that the overall game experience is entirely enjoyable. The problems: the space battle mechanics are not the easiest to grasp (even the targeting triangle did not always show up for me), and the similarity between some of the "different" species of plants (especially those that give elements) makes renaming them on every plants somewhat tedious. Additionally problems arrive with more advancement into the game, the language stones mean nothing after you have learned all of the available words, and the drop pods (for suit upgrades) also do nothing after you are fully upgraded. They don't even convert to small stores or give random tech drops. I would have liked to see some reason to have those things in the game after their initial use. The pros: the exploration is genuinely enjoyable, and it is nearly infinite, taking the time to name things is optional, but enjoyable if you like taxonomic organization. Personally, I have themed planets and just name everything according to that theme. The color pallet, plant atmospheres, and solar system make up ensure that the game will always be visually appealing. I love the score, the music is both enjoyable and "explory," which is a feeling more than it is a word.
Overall I enjoy the game. I would not mind if there were more consideration paid to max level concerns (what things do when their primary function is fulfilled) and I wouldn't say no to more random things being introduced into the planetary features. If you are looking for intense dogfights in space and a complex economy, this game does not quite deliver in its current form, but if you are looking for exploration: for the experience of being alone in an undiscovered universe with the ability to go out and see it, this game is it.

I have played for maybe 10 hours and have only traveled to a few systems so I don't really know much about the story or lack thereof. If you let your imagination run wild the game has a lot to offer. The game itself is very basic and you will encounter a lot of the same or similar things as you play. Also note that this is more of a survival space exploration game rather than a space exploration game. You have to gather resources to continue to progress. The developers are said to be adding a lot to the game in the future too so that could really improve the game.

If you like exploring and discovering, then this game delivers. If you're looking for an in-depth space combat and trading game, skip it.

Don't buy into all the negativity surrounding this this game. It's what was advertised. An endless universe for exploration. Buy it if you want to spend countless hours traveling a universe no other player has seen. Discovering new species, planets, etc. interact with aliens and get into space battles. Upgrade your spaceship, trade and mine. This game has it all.

Beautiful scenery and graphics. Disappointed about the story plot and the need to grind so long for materials.

The game is fun but has a ton of potential to be much better, after 2 days I was bored because it turned out to be very repetitive... I still feel like there is no game better than Microsoft's 2003 PC game Freelancer.
The extras on the limited edition are nice but for the price I was expecting more in-game content... If I knew more about the game and the extras I would have bought the standard.

Great ideal but should not be a full release, full price game. This should have been marketed as an indie title as there is not enough content to warrent a 60.00 dollar game. The planets are all the same and multiplayer is non existent. Very disappointed in Sony for allowing this to release in its current condition.

This game is exactly what I thought it was going to be. If your not into games where you have to invest time to search and gather to build your self into the ultimate explorer then you would enjoy the game.
It has both amazing moments and frustrating ones but I am satisfied with what it is.

Based on the value of the contents, this is a very good deal for the price. It is not groundbreaking, but the game is playable. Out of the box, it is not polished, but has gotten numerous patches to improve on gameplay, so there is continued support by the development team, which is positive. Worth checking out to form your own opinion.
