So this is actually something that Apple makes us do. Basically they would rather our cables break then the phones be damaged if there is too much tension on the cable. They want the cable to come out of the phone so we have to put in a breaking point into the lighting connection, (so does every other MFI approved phone cable).

The cord was never abused and only used to charge phone at night. Didn’t get the use out of it for what I paid.

Ive had 3 phones now and all have had the same issue so it must be the cable.

Very disappointing! Although, it seems most similar products do the same, sadly.
