Great movie for the Period fan

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the movie. It's fantastic, but the DVD itself seems to be defective. I cannot run it the way I do every other DVD on my player. It won't respond in the same way.

beautiful movie!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when i saw this movie for the first time i quickly fell in love with Richard Armitage's character John Thornton he has a serious intensity about him that is just so amazing and mysterious ,he reminded me of matthew mcfadyen's character Mr. Darcy on pride and prejudice which might i add is my all time favorite movie,and now north and south is right at the top of my list with it also! i also loved Daniela Denby-Ashe as strong-willed and stubborn margaret hale. i would recommend this movie to any jane austen/romance movie lover!

Oh My!

My favorite is the lengthy Pride & Prej. (1996) with Colin Firth. BUT after seeing this movie...I can honestly say it is now my most favorite! The last 15 minutes is the most romantic scene I have ever seen in any movie ever! I cried! Now I have to go and watch it! If you are a romantic...you must see this movie!

He could get across a feeling with just a look. I've seen him in Robin Hood and never liked him because he was the villan. I think that marks a truly gifted actor when you despise him when he plays the villan but love him when he plays the romantic lead. I feel the same of Daniela Denby-Ashe. She played a strong willed woman very well.

Wonderful Mini Series

The story is well written and well acted, and the themes are meaningful (class differences, worker rights, poor first impressions that improve with understanding, and of course, romance). Package arrived quickly/within the allotted delivery period.
