The vented top (remove lid) lets the steam out and provides crisp popcorn. Hot and fresh. Not only does it work great but the color and design look good too. This is a BEST BUY for the money.

A bit disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After reading the 5.0 stars reviews on here, I was excited to buy this popcorn maker. I have to say it looks good and definitely makes my apartment smell great. However, over the multiple times I have used it, most of my kernels end up getting burnt, because it is unable to continuously stir the kernels around, once some have popped. Moreover, the metal rod (which stirs), ends up coming off eventually during the process. I have followed the instructions to the letter, so I am not really sure why this continuously happens. Also, I tried making popcorn without oil. It does NOT work! Oil is definitely needed, otherwise the kernels just end up turning black. I am pretty disappointed with this purchase and would return it if I could.
