I purchased this because the ice maker in my refrigerator was malfunctioning and I did not want to continue to buy ice or pay for the repair. This seemed like a cheaper and easier alternative. Upon receipt of the ice maker, I let the unit sit 24 hours upright prior to plugging it in. I was able to start getting ice right way. After a few uses, I realized that ice would continue to be made even without the basket in place and unit would hold much more ice this way. This is a great alternative if you want more ice for an event than fits in the small basket. Within just a few hours, you can have several pounds of ice if you don't want to purchase it at the store. $2.50 for 10 pounds of frozen water seems kind of high. While the machine is noisy as most machines are, I do not think it is overly loud or distracting.

I waited a while to do this review, because usually if you have issues with something, it's not right away. This was a gift for the wife so it had to match the kitchen. The only thing that is a down side is that does make noise when dropping the ice cubes, but that's pretty normal.

Only had the unit for several months. Simple setup. Started making ice with no hikes. Found that the medium size cubes works best for my family. We were looking for the color red. Finding red in the type of system we were looking for was not easy. The family is very happy with this unit.

Works great, ice in just a short while. LED indicator lights help to maintain the unit and keep it going.

We've had several built-in ice makers quit on us. Rather than invest another repair we got this item. Works easily, quickly and quietly. Won't take us long to break even. The best thing is that we can take it to parties, or a friend's house or even camping. We're really happy with it!

I bought this ice maker for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. I went to Best Buy in Greece NY and they helped me order it there weren't any in stock at the store. It was delivered in about 4 days. It was simple to start up and we've been using it ever since. We really love it thank you Best Buy!

It makes I've really quickly and I was surprised how far the water goes. We use it at our church and store the cubes in the freezer until needed. Haven't had to buy bagged ice since we got it!

I am very pleased with this product. Plug and go, just have to keep up with the water but as long as you do this, you will have ice flowing 24/7

I am not that thrilled with this ice machine because the tray is so small, it stops ice production when full. I have a hard time believing it will make 25# in 24hrs because you would have to keep getting up in the middle of the nite to dump the ice into a cooler in order for the machine to keep going..even during the day, you need to tend to the dang thing too much to get the ice out of it that it says it makes. Kinda so so to okay if you are doing stuff around the house and can hassle with it.

I really enjoy this ice maker. It works really well!

it is quiet, but doesn't make ice quickly like it promises.
