I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for smart devices of almost any type. But when I saw that NutriBullet Balance had produced a Bluetooth connected blender, I was dubious. The description they gave made it seem like the blender was essentially only serving to replace the equals sign on an app-based calculator. But, being a smart device sucker, I decided to try it anyway. The first thing I discovered is that the product description does not do nearly a good enough job of selling this thing’s strengths. The best feature of the system is most definitely not the nutrition tracking (which I do find to be very dubious – more on that later) but rather the fact that they’ve built a highly precise digital scale into the thing. Which means that when you go to assemble a recipe, you can skip the measuring cups and simply add each ingredient to the cup until it tells you that you’ve reached the right amount. I know it doesn’t seem like much, but the effects of this are huge. The Nutribullet parts, designed as they are for frequent use and small batches, are engineered for easy cleaning. When you don’t need to use two or three different measuring devices, the total time to clean everything up drops to just a couple of minutes. For someone like myself who isn’t always the greatest at staying on top of these things this alone makes me far more likely to use the Balance, which hopefully will translate to me eating healthier in the long run. Speaking of, I also must give this thing serious points for build quality. In addition to being easy to clean (most of the parts are dishwasher safe) every single part has a satisfying heft and has been engineered to surprisingly tight tolerances. They’ve also thought of a lot of things that I’ll admit I wouldn’t have. For instance, the threaded tops of the cups can be covered over with a smooth plastic lip to make for easier drinking and easier cleanup, as the threads are protected from most things that might gum them up. I only wish that I could say the same for the app that comes with it. This, sadly, is ultimately the downfall of the Balance. Smart devices live and die on the quality of the app their paired with, and this one is only barely usable. It’s slow to run (even on my modern flagship smartphone) quick to crash and only marginally reliable when it comes to tracking your nutrition. The first day I had it, I used it for all three meals to test it out for this review. For two of them I used the built-in recipes (which are okay, but nothing too special) and for the third I created my own concoction out of the leftovers from earlier in the day. The next day, all of that was gone. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but the app managed to delete everything I’d stored in it. I can’t say I was too surprised though, given that it had frequently failed to respond to basic button presses, aggressively demanded that I log back in multiple times even though I never logged out, and froze up at least half a dozen separate times when I attempted to search for recipes. Oh, and if you want to add some simple granulated sugar to your recipes without anyone knowing, the Balance has your back. Despite having an encyclopedic collection of ingredients that I’ve never even heard of in its database, “sugar” is apparently not one of them. I understand that this is intended primarily for healthy living, but I’d rather have an accurate accounting of my dietary sins all the same. This leaves me in somewhat of a frustrating position. Overall, I like the Balance. And when they worked, I could see there was some real potential in the smart features which I feel could end up being more widely adopted to make cooking as well as blending easier. But with the app in the state that it is, you’re not getting all the features that you’re paying a premium for. In the state that it is now I could only recommend getting this over a regular non-smart version of the NutriBullet if you’re willing to play the early adopter game and wait however many months or years it takes for them to sort out the problems with the app.

This is an amazing NutriBullet. It is a powerful upgrade to the 600 with added technology. It has a built in sensor that can weigh your ingredients precisely and it comes with Bluetooth to connect to your smartphone app to keep track of your calories and measure your servings. The blender itself is not too big, but the body is very well made and feels sturdy. The blades are very sharp and the motor power is doubled compared to the previous NutriBullet. It blends frozen food very smoothly. The blender cups are large in size and you can easily make two servings at once. You can use to app to control the blender with customized blending options. The app also provides with recipes with pre-measured calories. If you do your own mix, you can still enter the ingredients in the app manually to track it. And cleaning is very easy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their smoothie making machine with an added personal nutrition tracking thing.

This is a great little blender. I only say little because I have a Ninja that is huge by comparison. This thing has plenty of power and has blended everything from frozen fruit to kale for my smoothies. It is much heavier than it looks, but is still manageable for most people. Initially, I didn't know why in the world a blender would need to be paired via Bluetooth to my phone, but after using this for several days now, I have grown to appreciate it for one reason in particular. My wife calls me a by the book cook, which means that if the directions say use 1/4 cup of this or 2/3 cup of that, I'm breaking out the measuring cups to make sure I get it right. That is the reason I love this blender. With the app downloaded and paired to the blender, I began making my favorite smoothie. I set the cup on the "scale" as stated and created my recipe within the app. First, I searched for 1% milk within the app by clicking "Add ingredient", typed the name and added 1 1/2 cups of milk. Instead of breaking out my impressive collection of measuring cups, I poured it directly into the blender cup and the app told me how much milk I had poured. I then broke out the frozen mangoes, repeated step one and kept adding until the app said about two cups. Finally I added a couple scoops of protein powder. I didn't need to measure that. After adding the ingredients, I placed the blender cup on the blender base and the app asked me what texture I preferred. I selected smoothie and the app determined how long the recipe needed blended and voila, 52 seconds later, I had my Mango Protein smoothie. The cups are huge and two are included along with the lips and lids. Clean up was easy and much quicker than cleaning my Ninja blender. I like that the app has recipes, stored in it that I can use or I can make up my own and store them in the app. Overall, this is a fantastic blender and will certainly get plenty of use in my household. I would definitely recommend this product!!

This was my first time using using a NutriBullet and I was very impressed. I had a similar blender from Hamilton beach but there is really no comparison. I wasn’t sure why Bluetooth would be needed for a blender but it was a great addition. Being able to measure your servings and see it live on the app as you’re adding ingredients is great. You can track and find new recipes with the app. I feel like this is a great product for anyone trying to monitor servings, gain or lose weight for anyone really. The cups are large which I appreciate I can save for later instead of having to make 2 like I used to with my Hamilton beach. Great product easy to setup and use.

I like this Bullet. The blender is very heavy and appears to be well made. It comes with two giant blender cups and “to go” lids are included. I downloaded the app and very easily connected to my iPad via Bluetooth. I wanted to try one of the recipes on the app. I’m not really concerned about nutrition but wanted to try the ingredient ‘sensitivity “ of the blender. I had barely heard of some of the ingredients and had to make a special run to the grocery store to try to make a “nutritional” smoothie that we might actually like. I’ll just say it was expensive. I found the instructions a bit confusing but the app recorded the weights very closely. For those who really need to be accurate and precise, I think this Bullet will be a very nice addition. I was surprised that the blades are not sharp like my Ninja. I found that they didn’t need to be. This thing blended chunks of frozen bananas, spinach leaves, clumps of frozen strawberries and it was truly smooth. I t is a great little blender. I’m keeping it on my counter since the “footprint” is small. We’ve made several smoothies but I’m more of a dump stuff in person so the manual option is best for us. I haven’t really used the app to measure the ingredients again. When I’m epready to start my diet this will be great to help me count my calories and watch my nutritional intake. I’m actually very impressed with the power and ease this Bullet turns anything I’ve thrown in it to a very smooth tasty treat.

I have owned a few nutribullets. This one has a lot of new technology. I love the way that the scale inside of the unit helps you make smoothie recipes. And that you can drag nutritional information through the app. But I think that he's a little bit of upgrading. It's not very user-friendly. And not easy to make recipes that you search for. The blender is self Five Star but the app needs attention.

The Nutribullet Balance blender is amazing. It's the perfect blender for making smoothies. The bluetooth feature is really nice too. Now I can get input on my phone about the nutritious properties of my ingredients. Really solid structure, and easy to use. We use it everyday. I would recommend the Nutribullet Balance blender to everyone.

My son loves to make smoothies and this is a great addition to the kitchen. He was using the Ninja and it is very large on the counter... the NutriBullet Balance is much smaller and even better! Great design and love the suction cups on the base of the unit. We first downloaded the App to our phones and connected via Bluetooth. Washed all the components and got started on making our smoothies. In the app there is an option to create your own recipe or use one there. We did both and it was super easy. Love that it weighs your ingredients as they are placed in the blender! Even better was being shown the nutritional information, including calories, protein, carbs, sugar, and fiber. You can also find recipes for soups, desserts, and dips!

This system comes with 2 large cups. Love it. The cups have 2 ways to drink from. Either a ring and drink like a normal cup or it has a nice lid piece that makes it like one of those shaker cups. Works great so far. I like to just get frozen fruit and juice and blend. Takes a minute or so at most. Simple to use. With a blender you have to blend first then pour into cup. This is already in a cup once you blend it. I also like that you can manually turn it on and off or use the app and connect and it will do it for you. The app helps keep track for you as to what you eat. And had a lot of recipes as well as you can add your own.

Wife seamlessly hooked up via Bluetooth and to phone. The app shows the nutrition value of food items you put into cup based on weight of items from the internal scale. However, we were making margaritas and it did not have margarita mix on app! My wife and I were able to get past that but no where in the directions or anywhere does it tell you how to start blending. After, too much time we finally got it to start by pressing down on cup but come on! The app tells you time to hold down and you just hold down or you do not we still do not know. Items blended and we enjoyed margaritas. It is a little noisy and it appeared to be scary for my wife as she was the one holding it down.

If it werent for the bluetooth integration, this "bullet" would not be much different than others out there on the market. The machine is well built and the device does an excellent job of blending. The real difference comes when you connect it to your mobile device and use the application to manage what you mix in the machine. There are pre-prepared recipies you can use to make shakes. You can also mix your own and input the ingredients to be tracked by the application. It's easy to use and setup and being able to track your various recipies is an excellent touch. I would recommend this device.

Pros: - Strong, durable, build with very easy to clean parts - Very easy to use and reliable operation Con - App is basically worthless. When it is not force closing it runs at a deathly slow pace. It can possibly helpful as it can give recipes with percise measurements relateable to the container, but it's just not there yet. I would recommend the blender based on it's physical function alone, but don't have high hopes for the software.

This little blender makes a great smoothie. It has managed to fully crush all of the ice I have thrown at it and blends up fruits very well. The connectivity to the app on my phone is a really cool feature and the ability to "measure" ingredients is really cool and saves me from having to use a measuring cup/spoon. If I had to say anything negative about this, it would be in the cups themselves. 1) They are quite large in diameter and do not fit in the cupholders of any of my three vehicles. 2) While the lids to seal well to form a leakproof seal, they don't instill much confidence that they won't come open (for instance when I carry them in my bag. 3) The lack of measurement marks on the sides make manually measuring ingredients or the amount of intake impossible with the cup alone. 4) The lack of any double wall insulation causes them to sweat profusely...I have to add ice to my smoothies to keep them cold for the drive to work, and they sweat all over my bag by the time I get there. Also, the app lacks many ingredients. Overall, this is a fantastic little blender with modern connectivity and a cool app, but does have a few shortcomings that hinder it from being the perfect smoothie blender.

The added functionality of this smart blender is incredibly useful. It allows you to measure out the perfect portions for each ingredient, blends everything the perfect amount, and keeps track of your calorie intake all within the app. While the app could use some work, its still a new app and I'm sure it'll receive plenty of updates over time.

I really like the Nutribullet and this new feature of being able to weigh what you put in with the scale is pretty awesome. Its a little time consuming at first but if you plan to use it often and the same ingredients, it wont be as time consuming as the first time and I'm sure once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty quick even if you add new recipes and ingredients. Being able to sync it to your phone is nice too. I love that feature. I actually used the recipes they offer on the app. Your also able to send the ingredients to your shopping list on the app so if you plan to make several different smoothies the ingredients will all be there. Just be careful to save the name because it doesn't separate them for you. The ingredients are all clustered together. I would def. recommend purchasing this. I own another blender too and this one I like because it saves counter space and its so much more convenient with the app.
