Awesome card but beware that the rest of your computer needs to be strong enough to support it. I have an FX-4100 cpu and it's severely bottlenecking the performance I could be getting with this card. I thought the card alone would get me great FPS on PUBG but alas, I was incorrect. Gonna need to spend $500-600 to upgrade my mobo/cpu to a Ryzen or I7 processor to really make this card worth it. My fault, not the card's.

Totally unnecessary for 1080p monitors. I have an r9 290 with which I get the same frame rates (well, 80%) of what I get with the GTX 1080. I notice no difference in my experience of the game. My gpu is a i5 3570k and it holds back the 1080. I really don't notice any difference with the new GPU. I should have purchased the i7 7700k instead. Even though it's like $650 with memory and all, the CPU difference is as much in terms of frame rates as the GPU increase, I am simply not getting the benefit of the GTX 1080 in my system.

I needed a blower style cooler for my small form factor gaming rig (mATX). This fit my needs. It is totally overkill if you are running 1080p, unless you are obsessed with a 144hz refresh or something really specific. I moved to 1440p, which finally retired my trusty gtx780. Now I am running gSync, which has ruined me forever - I can never go back to fixed refresh rates. Games are buttery smooth with my i7-6700k and Asus Maximus VIII gene motherboard. The price drop with the Ti release makes it much more appealing. Love it!

I upgraded my gaming system from a GTX 970 to a GTX 1080. All my favorite games now run flawlessly, on highest settings, when paired with a fast SSD. Might be incidental, but I seem to also notice less disk activity when transitioning between dissimilar areas in games. I'm guessing it's due to the additional VRAM. The reference/founders wind-tunnel cooler design runs a bit hotter than the multiple-fan designs by other manufacturers, but the multi-fan designs also require good case circulation. The wind tunnel design ejects the hot air out the back, rather than dispersing it inside the case and relying on case fans to remove the heat. Highly recommended. Would also like to commend Best Buy for selling these at a reasonable price during the GPU shortage.

I bought an RX 470 last year and was waiting on Vega. Then some of the Vega stuff started to leak out and it didn't look too great for the year long wait. So I decided to upgrade to this. A 1080 FE. GTA 5 runs like a champ on this card. Everything maxed out and the GPU is spitting out over 100fps at 1080. That may not sound impressive but it really is compared to my 470. If you can afford it a 1080 may not be king of the hill any longer since the Titan xp and the 1080ti came out but it's still one heck of a card.

I purchased two of the Founders Edition cards to replace two GTX 980TI cards. These cards handle very well. Already having a system that could enable me to game in the 4k resolution smoothly, what these cards have given me is the same performance range with less power consumption. I've gamed on my LG EF9500 OLED. I've game on my Acer X34 Predator. I've not run into any displeasure with the card. Having tested single and SLI configuration. I highly recommend this for those that are both casual and enthusiast.

This video card is about as good as 1080 gaming gets. Ultra settings on everything at over 60FPS without any issues.

There is nothing special about this version of the card except that it was available and wasn't recalled for faulty cooling. The card itself rocks coming from a 780Ti. I'm not a gamer and use it for video editing and rendering. The missing star is for NVIDIA's business model on these cards.

Honestly, the only reason I bought it was because I had good sized best buy gift card. If not for that, I would have bought an aftermarket card with better cooling. That said, the card works and is a significant upgrade from my 980ti in some games I play, including oculus rift.

You can find factory overclocked versions of the GTX 1080 chipset with the same amount and type of on-board memory from other manufacturers (e.g. EVGA), and for the same price or less. Apparently NVIDIA only markets their retail cards through a limited set of retail channels, perhaps to avoid competing with A) their direct-to-consumer sales and / or B) their licensees in all of the same venues they sell. This card seems to have good quality, is reasonably-sized, and was easy to install - like any other PCI E card would be. I used this to replace a pair of GTX 970s (running in SLI) and so far I do see a slight upgrade in performance compared to that SLI solution. The retail packaging is nearly decadent. The chipset name (GEFORCE GTX) lights up in green LEDs so you can see it through the window of your rig. Too bad all my other LEDs inside the case are red... wonder if I can change the color of the LEDs on the card.

i bought the card about a week or so after relase...plays all my games on max settings 1080p...so decided to buy a 4k tv to try it out with that...plays most games 4k on high/ultra settings..40-60fps....only a few games gave me some problems...great card when it came out...didn't get a free game bundled with it but o well...paid 699.99 plus tax for it...kind of upset that 1080ti is same price but about 30% better in performance...but technology is always changing

This is one of the best consumer cards you can get. Will be replace the reference heat sink though. Even with the limitations of over locking on this card it’s impossible to come even close to maxing out. Throwing a water cooler on this bad boy.
