    Nvidia Shield K1 YouTube gameplay

I have gotten this tablet over a month ago and I am absolutely loving it. If you want to see gameplays on the tablet check out my YouTube channel. YouTube and JokerEatsBabies. I've had the nexus 7 2nd gen for 3 years and this one by far beats it in quality and performance. Google voice is so easy to use by just saying "OK google" and asking what ever is in mind. You can easily get out and ask google to play a certain song on YouTube or even open Candy Crush. Nvidia Shield K1 is most likely going to be this years best tablet of the year for the price.

    Nvidia Shield K-1 8" Tablet

Nice Android tablet and the 1920 x 1200 resolution is a plus for this price point. Sound is better than expected. I moved as many apps as possible to a 128GB microSD card to conserve on-board storage space. Given the screen resolution, the battery life isn't great but I expected this. Only negative, after a few weeks of ownership, is a little transitional video lag in Dawn of Titans (Google Play Store game). A 3-4 GB RAM + 32-64 GB storage version would be nice.

For the price you can't get a PURE ANDROID OS Experience from an 8" inch Tablet anywhere like this ONE!! Highly recommended!!!

    Nearly perfect

The one flaw I've found is that there is a sharp edge where the side trim meets the screen and speakers (wraps around the entire device). My solution was to take a flat head screw driver and rub down the edge where it meets the speakers. I'm not going to mess with the edge along the screen until I get a screen protector. Otherwise: This is the smoothest running tablet I've ever used. It's has a clean OS, no bloatware, only a few settings and apps specific to the Shield. I'd compare it to the top of the line iPad except you CAN have multiple user profiles = multiple game accounts. I can't wait to try the stylus in CoC.

    Best tablet for the money

I purchased this tablet for my 7 yr old son and I could not be happier with how it has worked out. My suggestion is to get an apple Ipad charger (10 Watt) and a quality cable. That is the only issue I have had is finding what works well with charging the device in a timely and reliable manner. Speed and responsiveness is impressive. It has the polish of Tablets worth twice the price. All updates went smoothly, no wifi issues here, never even had a hiccup since I bought it 4 months ago. Very happy!

Great tablet if it didn't have so many bugs. Read many reviews before my purchase. My reason for switching to this tablet was to game on. I like the selection of games on the android market much better than Apple, which is what I'm switching from. After installing my games I have had ALOT of problems getting my games to connect to internet although I have great WiFi otherwise. I have no problems streaming movies on Kodi or browsing the internet but have way too many "can't connect to server" errors while trying to play games. I've researched this enough to know that it is a known issue and hasn't been fixed. I'm a long time customer of nvidia products and am quite put out by this product. Yes it has a very fast processor to run games but what's the point of having all that power under the hood if it can't connect to the very thing you bought it for? I would certainly give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the connection issues.

I got this tablet for my birthday, and I love it, literally use it every single day. I use it to browse the internet, read comics, watch Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon videos and movies, and take pictures and video (haven't used it for gaming as I game mostly on consoles and my desktop pc). It's very fast, not laggy at all, everything loads quickly. Amazingly clear and colorful. Literally the best tablet at this price range, without a doubt. I just can't say enough good things about it, and can't think of a single thing that I dislike, no joke. Love it!

I love this tablet! Its got plenty of RAM so i can swap between apps and run multiple apps as much as I want, CPU is really good and the GPU is awesome! I you have a Nvidia powered PC and you want a Tablet this is the one! You can stream games from you PC anywhere in your house over WiFi and even if you don't have a PC you can play PC Quality games for a small subscription fee. (Also works with any Bluetooth controller if you don't want the very nice Nvidia shield controller.)

I wanted a decent tablet I could use for surfing the Internet and to play games and movies on and this fit the bill. Perfect size and I liked the specs. Feels solid and not filled with a bunch of bloatware. Expandable memory is a plus and only drawback is the power button location but it is something you can get used to.

    All but the SCREEN

    Posted .

I bought this tablet as an upgrade to my "Lenovo S8-50" tablet I purchased at Best But two years ago that is also 8". I have had this tablet for several days now and it is overall, a fast tablet with AWESOME sound quality...however. The screen on this tablet is a disappointment that does not match the rest of it's superior specs. The brightness of it is maybe HALF of the Lenovo's even turned all the way up and the screen just has a "yellowish" darker tint to it. Especially the whites. I even tried to change the color to "native" in the display settings which helped but still not as good as the 2 year old Lenovo. Both have the exact same display specs too. Plus the sound wasn't too much louder/clearer than the Lenovo's front facing stereo speakers. What this tablet does have is a faster processor but when comparing the two side by side and browsing the web, opening and closing apps, plus playing several games on both, there just wasn't that much of a performance advantage for the Nvidia to justify keeping it. I am going to return it. For $199 this a no brainer as this tablet is a very nice gaming tablet that can't be beat by the current competition in that price point. It just didn't meet my expectations as an upgrade.

The tablets themselves are awesome i love playing games from my PC on my tablet or on my tv without having to compromise my comfort level. Bought 2 of these one for myself and my GF didn't get points for either one of them on my BB rewards don't quite know why.

    Worst tablet I've ever owned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

And I've owned several. Slow, and unresponsive. The touchscreen it just TERRIBLE, Have to press things multiple times and there's some serious lag. Nougat just made it even worse. Almost every time I unlock it, another app opens automatically, and I have to close it. NEVER happened to me before on phones or tablets. The thing wakes up like an 80 year old drunk, it flashes, then blank, then freezes, and I can't do anything, often requiring me to reboot it. Seriously, I have better things to do with my time than wait for this thing to operate. The HDMI is nice, though the picture on my TV has borders. Sound is ok. REALLY hate all the Nvidia cramware. What useless garbage, and the worst thing is it repeatedly pesters you with notifications to join their reward program. No way to turn it off I can see. Bloatware. Also, the Charging plug is on the wrong side and power/volume buttons are too recessed. Really wish I didn't buy this. Never again from this company.

    No miracast

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Except a huge thickness for a recent tablet (acceptable in the end because of the good design), it could be one of the very best. But they totally screwed up their concept by forcing costumers to use a wifi wireless controller, and not a classic Bluetooth controller like all the other Android devices. So you pay 60 $ for a controller which will inhibit your Wifi speed in hour home, and which disable miracast on your tablet. Basically, you have a gaming tablet, which can't project on a screen without wires, when all the other phones/tablets can...nice. You can still use chromecast, but it will use your home Wifi as well, and slow down the speed. Why did they do that? Insane bad engineering, because all the offer is based on the stream of PC videogames, and I tell, you, the internet speed will never allow you to stream a game + using you wifi controller + casting through your box and the chrome key. I will return mine, sadly, because it remains a good tablet, cheap and powerful.

    Slow and laggy

I don’t why people keep saying this tablet has speedy performance. Even for simple tasks like web browsing or even immediately after turning it on the amount of lag makes the Shield K1 almost unusable in my opinion. Spend the extra $100 and get something with more RAM like the Mediapad M3.
