I use this to stream sling, Netflix and Hulu. Does the job to the T. I haven’t played any games on it. But it’s pretty cool that it has that option. I’m not a gamer myself.

Still the best streamer around. Also great if you like old school gaming as the Shield is great for emulators. I wouldn't say it can compete as a gaming console against the xbox one or ps4, but it is a very capable machine. I play high end games on my xbox, and old school games on my Shield.

Best box that I have used for media playback. Extensive payable media formats and there is a great list if games. Have yet to experiment with game streaming from my desktop, but have heard only good things from friends that donit all the time. Thinking of buying a second one for the bedroom.

I purchased the Nvidia Shield TV with the sole intent of using it as a streamer as I transition away from cable TV. I ended up using it as a living room gaming console as well. The processing power is way better than other streaming boxes. I have it hooked up with an ethernet cable to stream games from my gaming pc (i7-4670k and GTX 1070). Now my family can also enjoy playing NES, SNES games through emulators. If you are a gamer/cable cutter, I highly recommend the Nvidia Shield TV.

If you are looking for an Android TV but don't want to deal with the slow performance that comes with the typical device, (Amazon fire stick) this is for you. I use my Shield mainly for Kodi, streaming games from my 1080ti PC, and to run emulators. The Shield performs all of these tasks flawlessly. My favorite feature by far is the various emulators that run on Android. The included controller works for the emulated games perfectly. So far I have emulators for the Super Nintendo, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, N64, PlayStation, and PSP. Feels amazing playing all the games from my childhood right in one place. I love this thing, well worth the price tag in my opinion.

This streaming device is awesome. It has a good selection of games and TV apps at a high rate of speed. Way faster than my OLED processor with fantastic picture.

Even though I ended up returning this purchase to Best Buy, I highly recommend it. I actually found a better deal elsewhere... Anyway, think of the NVIDIA Shield as a super tablet, except with no screen. It has several USB ports to plug media drives to look at your photos or downloaded videos using apps like VLC player. It comes with a controller so you can play the latest and greatest titles or you can download emulators and roms to play your older titles that way. There are emulator apps that can easily be downloaded for free from the Play Store. I highly recommend this product in all respects.

The Shield is the best streaming box out there currently. Fast, smooth, easy to use. The gaming is amazing too. All my TV, video, gaming & streaming apps in one place.

i have had this for over 2 months now and let me say i have wasted money on all the streaming boxes ive tried, i should have bought this from the start. Ive done roku, fire stick, firebox, 2 i cant even remember all to save a few bucks. BUY SHIELD!!!! Its the fastest it has free games, its even pretty lol. If you are like me you are saying "ya but its so expensive" ok if your not into apks ,kodi or gaming you may get by with something else. but if you do stream alot of movies and tv shows there is only one choice this one. if you buy the cheaper ones you will end up here eventually (took a year but here i am).

I am really enjoying this. Does a great job streaming 4K HD. I added a hard drive and am also using it as a Plex media server. I added my music collection to Plex and my Amazon Echo has access to it through a skill so I can listen to any song, album, or collection anywhere in my house.

Great buy for cord cutters. Upgraded to the Nvidia Shield TV from a cheap android tv box. Best purchase so far. Super fast and easy to program and use. Highly recommend. Love it!

The best of the best is right here. Did my research online and it doesn't get any better than this for an android box. More powerful than any other streaming box out there. Steams and games excellent. Google assistant built in, Nvidia Tegra X1 Processor with a 256 core GPU and 3 GB Ram, 7.0 Nougat, Supports 4K and 1080 at 60 FPS, Gigabit Ethernet, 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 / BLE, Two 3.0 USB [Type A]. I would suggest you get a mini keyboard to type and navigate easier. If you need more memory, the Nvidia website will inform you on the best compatible flash drives for the device. Very happy with this beast of a machine!

The nvidia shield is a work horse and has up to date software, hardware, and a solid interface. I bought it bc it was on sale and I was in the market for a android TV. It is very responsive and on the upside you are buying the flag ship of android boxes. So you will get the updates first. My downside is that I use it only for streaming and Dont get use of the gaming side. For the price you better use the gaming side if you really wanna feel like you got the most out it.

I have streamed video from Hulu, Netflix, HBO and several other services on the Shield, a Roku Premium +, Apple TV and my iPad. The Shield is the best of what I've tried. Hulu app needs to be updated to support multiple profiles but I'm sure that is coming with the Hulu Live update soon. The Shield rocks and is very powerful and fast, fast, fast. I even hooked up a USB HDTV tuner and a 500GIG USB drive and use Plex DVR and Live TV. I am running wireless instead of ethernet so game streaming was not usable for me. My 1 issue with this device is that the small remote control has terrible range, especially once I connected devices to the units USB3. I believe the USB devices put off radio interference that affects the bluetooth remote. I deducted 1 star for this issue. The game controller remote works fine but is too clunky for watching videos for my taste although it does make a nice game controller. I ended up connecting my Harmony Hub via blue tooth which works much better than the little remote that came with the device. I liked this so much that I purchased a second one for my other TV.

This is one of the best all around boxes for video streaming. I have not found anything that that I want a streaming box to do that it doesn't. The only minor annoyance is since I have it connected through a surround sound unit, when watching Netflix shows that have 5.1 audio, when unpausing the show, audio does not come back in for about 5 seconds. I have learned to deal with this by just hitting the button to jump back 10 seconds, then pause. Overall I love it. It is even easy enough for my 5 year old to navigate and use.

I love the Nvidia shield tablet. I use it for games and koi. It also has all the other great streaming subscriptions on it. I would buy as a gift and I would recommend this to anyone .

I primarily use to stream media. It is way better than the firetv that I also own. It as plenty of power. I really haven't used it for gaming. I use my high end pc and ps4 for that.

This is simply the best streaming box you can buy. I've got all the major players on here, including retro gaming emulation, and the powerhouse Kodi. It's changed my cordcutting life!
