The best gun accessory for the Wii

This is the best gun accessory for the Wii I have seen yet. It's nicely balanced and fits well in your hand or hands, depending on your shooting preference. The Wii-mote is held securely in place so you don't have to worry about it flying off if you swing the gun around like with some other Wii-mote accessories. It's less than fifteen bucks so it's a good value for what you're getting. My only wish is that they would release it in other colors. Of course it's nothing that can't be fixed with a little spray paint and masking tape though :)

Sorry, Nintendo- You Missed Out On This One!

This is the peripheral Nintendo should have made but didn't! While I love the Wii Zapper, games like House of the Dead and Ghost Squad are MUCH easier to play with the Perfect Shot! The crossbow/submachine gun feel of the Wii Zapper is perfectly suited for Link's Crossbow Training (duh) and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, but as for good old fashioned pistol whipping goes, the Perfect Shot can't be beat! The best part is, you can still attatch accessories such as the nunchuck from the bottom if you need to thanks to the a pass-through connector! The only (small) flaw I find with the Perfect Shot is that the unit feels a little top heavy when you have a Wiimote inserted. Its not enough to be bothersome so I won't dock a star or anything, but it is worth noting.

    worth the price

This is probably the best deal for any light gun for the Wii. The only problem I came across was actually attaching the remote. You have to be careful and align it perfectly. I use regular AA batteries so the rechargeable battery issues did not concern me. The grip is a little bit wide but I didn't mind it at all. The weight distribution isn't the greatest but once again I didn't notice it much. This is a great price and the gun works great. Much better than the zapper.

I'm not really into shooting for games but this accessories gave me a new perspective. It was light and easy to handle even my 4 year old loves to shoot chickens now. The Perfect Shot made my shooting experience a lot more fun now as if you are really holding a gun and pulling a trigger instead of just pressing a button. Price value is just right for the purpose. The orange material on top seems like it would broke off everytime I install the wii remote so easy on the installation when buying this one. GREAT accessory for game shooting!!!

    Great gun.

I have been using this gun for Call of Duty 3. I have found that it is easy to aim, and I also like the fact that the Nunchuk plugs into the bottom of the grip out of the way. I also like that it doesn't look like the Wii Zapper, I think that it would be very uncomfortable to hold my hands in line that way. Not to mention you only have to use one hand to aim, instead of like the Zapper, where you have to move both hands together. It is a little top heavy, they could have weighted the grip to even it out more. The grip is rather large, and I have large hands, so it does get uncomfortable after playing for a while.

A light gun shell that does its job

Well, considering the other light gun shell alternative in mainstream retail is the Wii Zapper, (which isn't a bad shell either) the Perfect Shot is a great addition to your arsenal of plastic-laden, light guns. If you're debating between this and the Zapper, however, know that both have strong points in certain types of games, depending on gameplay controls. The Perfect Shot is well suited for games where the trigger (B), the start button (+) is all you need for gameplay controls (i.e. House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return). While for other games, such as Ghost Squad, which require an additional button(s), (A, 1, 2, etc) you can compromise by just holding the light gun (top part, where the remotes buttons are) with another hand (this takes away from that novelty of one-handed shooting though) or maybe by configuring buttons to the nunchuck through the game's settings. If you already have a Zapper then buying this will give that added convenience of 2 players simultaneously using light guns in games (a la arcade) instead of the usual "Its my turn to use the Zapper!" The only downside that I've seen so far is the boxy-like grip. While a little chunky, its not terrible unless you're playing games for hours that demand the need for a more comfortable grip that is actually somewhat molded to the shape of a hand. The "ergonomic" part applies to the gun itself, not the actual grip (your hand will start hurting after a while, if playing light gun/rail shooters for extended periods of time). Another problem, while smaller, can be seen with the process of attaching/detaching the Wii remote to the light gun shell. While attaching it, it feels as if you're forcing the Wii remote on, (the slots have to be aligned/positioned correctly) unlike just clipping it into place (Zapper). I've actually had the Perfect Shot since about early July and so far good, (besides the aforementioned problems) nothing has broken off or been damaged. OVERALL, its a good light gun shell that does its job and is perfect for completing that 2 player, arcade-style feel, especially if you already have the Wii Zapper.

Cool product, because it is easy to use, fun to play with, and great for shooting games. I kept it in good shape, its fragile trigger has stayed on so far, and it hasnt shown any signs of breaking. This is a nice product to have.

Buy this if you get House of the Dead. Your game will improve. I've had no durability complaints whatsoever and I have a 1yr old that will occasionally grab an accessory or two off the shelf to play with. I wouldn't reccomend this for any games that require nunchuck play ( although there is a plug in ) and accessing the top buttons on a regular basis.

    Good Gun for Shooting Games

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this gun to play w/ the House of Dead game and it does its purpose. I got this gun b/c it didn't need the nunchuk to be plugged in. The other gun I've tried had a slot for the nunchuk, but the wire that connected it to the controller kept getting in my way just dangling there... and it felt weird when the nunchuk wasn't in place. I'm happy I found this gun b/c it's so much easier to use and hold without the nunchuk. However, and like the other reviewers of this gun have commented, it does seem fragile and easy to break. But mine is still intact... so knock on wood.

I read all the reveiws about the product before buying and the reveiw from the customer with a little one helped me decide after getting the item home it was gonne be WWIII if my son or daughter didn't get to play as well having a two and three year old I was slightly sceptical but they didn't break the front retainer off and were well anyone who has children knows how kids are I didn't have any problems with the grips and found them similar to a 5 and 7 's grips or any automatic with a double stack magazine that being said if you do have small hands then I guess you would think the grips are to big. All in all better set up than other products I've tried that the hand grips were like those on a toy gun for an eight year old . Already recommended to two different friends and they liked the feel when they came over to try it out

    Good idea, bad product

When I was in the store looking at the Perfect Shot, I thought it looked like a fun and interesting idea. And it is! It has a neat look, easy grip, you can actually plug an attachment into the gun, and overall it's fun to use! Although, I had only had it for few days before one of the pieces snapped. On the front of the gun, there is a rotating, orange arc that holds the wii remote in place (and I believe is also there to show that it is a toy gun). But, after playing a couple of games with it, and little travel, it just snapped. There tiny pegs on each side of the arc to keep it in place that are not made well and are definately weak and easy to break. Although the Perfect Shot is a fun concept, it is easily broken. I feel that it is not neccesarily the price that is bad, rather than the extra trip your going to have to take to return the product, if you purchase it.

    Not worth the money

I was excited to see this come out. Till I tried to use it. The controller is heavy on the front and there is no weight in the handle. Balance is awkward. It needs to be weighted. Also, the pass through port did not work at all. I tested all my controllers and they all worked fine without the gun but none would work using the pass through port. IF YOU HAVE NYCO RECHARGABLE BATTERIES, the controller wont fit in the gun correctly. We had to put regular batteries in the remote to get it to fit. It was returned as defective.

    Perfect Shot

The perfect shot is easy to aim with and fun to use. Also, it's very easy to plug in the nunchuk. However, when the remote is placed in, the gun gets top-heavy. When placing in the wii remote, it feels kind of weird because you have to slide it in and it feels like the connector's about to break (when you're about to take it out and place it in).

THE BEST ATTACHMENT FOR A WII

If you were thinking about getting the Zapper... Consider this! Great for shooting games on the Wii! A must have for games like Resident Evil, House of the Dead... any Shooting GAME!!! It's light and easy to setup... it is a little harder for a nunchuck attachment, but still easier than the zapper!

this is definitely an improvement from the last Nyko gun. On this one, there is no need to remove the battery cover to install controller to gun.

This is one of the best peripherals for the Wii. For shooting games, this is a must. All other Zappers, including the Wii Zapper, are inferior. It works great and should be standard issue with all Wii's. Definitely get this peripheral. Avoid the imitators.

Bought this to play house of the dead...its a great price for the product. It was kind of difficult to get the Wii Remote in the device but once you get it in, its a joy to use. Has a great feel and natural grip for the most part.
