I have not had any problems with this speaker. I like the sound. Too bulky but still great sound. Battery life is good as well.

This Bluetooth speaker has great sound, easy set up, and holds a charge that makes it last for hours! We love it and use it every time we are outside!

When I first turned on the system in my office, I was not impressed (due to my inexperience with the speaker). Then I read the instructions (important). Please read instructions. The speaker sounded great. I would recommend this speaker for tailgating and any other outdoor gathering. It worked great in the gym for all activities. Takes a few minutes to sync with your device. Then you are ready to rock. Excellent product that is well worth the price.

Speaker is durable and sound is good, wish the charging plug was a universal usb type.

Overall this is a good larger sized portable BT speaker. Setup was easy through BT or NFC. It comes with adapters for multiple countries, and a male to male 3.5mm cable. It can charge your USB devices from its internal battery, and it comes with aux in and line out 3.5mm receptors, so you can daisy chain the speaker with other speakers. It has a built-in handle, and it’s not too heavy making it easy to carry around. The main buttons all light up to see in the dark, and it controls volume, next/last song, pause/play, and has a mic for a phone call. It’s water resistant, so you can take it about anywhere. All of the external connectors are on the back behind a closable door. Inside the door around the various plug in holes is a piece of rubber to seal out anything foreign. But, the main thing is the sound. It’s good. I played various songs from several sources and it sounds good. The bass isn’t booming, but it’s there. In order to get the bass, you have to turn it up to the higher volumes, then it seems to kick in. I also had it play music for a while and it seemed to loosen up. The bass seems better now after a few hours of playing, but even using an equalizer, the speakers can’t get low. For get togethers, this should be great. The sound is good, it can play loud, and you have a variety of ways to connect devices. For a BT connected somewhat ruggedized speaker it’s a good deal for taking music places and you want/need a bigger speaker.

The Nyne X-Series Rock puts out some great sound and deep base. Connecting via bluetooth is a snap and you are up and running. One note, my son's I-phone was quirky with volume adjustment, never could figure out why but my Android worked flawlessly. Bluetooth connections were successful up to 100 feet away with no obstructions which is nice so you can connect to bluetooth things inside you home if you are on the deck if needed. You also have the option of daisy chaining multiple speakers together. Indoors the base seems to almost overwhelm but it is very rich deep sound. Outdoors by the pool is where this thing really shines. It won't cause your neighbors to call the police but it will fill your backyard patio with great sound. This thing is big, but not heavy. You won't be stuffing this in your average backpack and heading to the beach, unless your backpack is a body bag but when you get there prepare to be impressed with the sound quality. At over 50% sound level I and about half of the time near highest output I got 5 full hours of play time. Not the 12 hours as advertised but I'm sure that wasn't pushing it as hard as we were. All in all at this price point the Nyne X-Series Rock is worth a look and one of the best speakers in its class.

The sound on the NYNE portable speaker is very nice. Good base, clear highs. For a portable speaker, the sound is pretty good. It was easy to connect my iPhone to it, and the signal was strong for at least 30 feet through a wall, and 50 feet line-of-sight. The iPhone reconnects to the unit when it is powered back on. I did notice some slight noise if the source is muted. Noticeable but not annoying. Calling this a portable speaker is a bit of a stretch, however. Yes, it can run off batteries, for apparently quite awhile, as I have been running gong batteries for several hours, and the battery still shows almost full. It is quite large and awkward to carry. The handle is more like a ledge to grab ahold of. It looks like it should come with a strap that could attach to the two small bars on the lower front of the device. This isn't really much of a concern for me, as I plan on having it plugged in all the time.

As a kid growing up in the 80s boomboxes were really popular and i definitely owned my share of boomboxes. I was excited to receive the Nyne X-Series seeing as how it was a wireless boombox containing one bass speaker, two mid drivers and two side tweaters. However my excitement fell short as i dove in to the sound quality and functionality of the speaker. Lets dive in and talk about the good, the bad, and if this speaker is the right fit for you. Right out of the box the first thing i noticed was the weight. The Xseries weighs 10lbs but it feels like it weighs more. I actually found this to be a good thing because it gave it a more rugged and sturdy design. I wasn't worried too much about being gentle with the speakers or them getting damaged due to the sturdy frame and water tight seal. That's right, this speaker is designed to be water/ dust proof and able to resist light scratches. I wouldn't go dunking this in a water tank but pool side and beach parties, this speaker should handle the light splash and sand with no problem. The speakers are paired via Bluetooth or NFC and has a range of roughly 35 feet. The speaker never once lost connection while within range and sound quality never picked up on any wifi noise. One intresting feature i found with the speaker is that it allowed for a mic to be hooked up via the 3.5 mm input, karaoke here we come. Also there is a built in mic so that you can receive and make calls all hands free. The sound quality of the call was actually surprisingly clear and good however i found this feature to be impractical due to the fact that your conversation was being blasted through the speakers for everyone to hear. Nyne claims a 10 hour battery life but for me when i put this to the test at 75% volume level i managed to only get about 8 hours of battery life. Now lets talk about the sound, after all thats what makes a good speaker worth it all. I'm very critical about my sound quality and when i listen to my music i want to be able to hear my music for all that it was meant to be. Right off the bat with the volume at 50% sound quality was surprisingly decent. Not the best sound around but not terrible by any means whatsoever. The music was crisp and clear with a good balance of my mids and tweaters not being muffled out by the bass. The lyrical sound quality was clean and free of background noise and was clearly heard throughout my whole back yard which is about a quarter acre. Now if your a big bass fan the speaker does the job but dont expect to max it out. When i started to tune in my equalizer i tried to max my bass out and the speaker struggled to handle it. The quality got more distorted and just sounded terrible. Also when turned the volume past 75% the music quality gave out. There was alot more distortion and sound quality had noticeably dropped off. I tried adjusting the sound via my equalizer but to my dismay this proved unsuccessful as the sound quality did not improve. Also these speakers are meant to be placed against a wall or backdrop. There is no 360 sound, so while the sound quality is loud enough to be heard no matter where you stand, there is a slight noticeable difference if you are behind the speaker. At the end of the day i feel as though Nyne geared this speaker towards a set group. This is a perfect speaker for those that are in a more rugged environment. If you do alot of camping or work out in the field via construction, mechanics, painting or any manual labor job then this rugged design may be right for you. However if you are looking to entertain guest and you are very critical of your sound quality as i am then you may want to pass. The average person who is looking just to provide some sound for there bbq or backyard pool party may find this is suitable for them and may not notice all the short comings, as long as you don't have a critical ear then this may be perfect for you. As for me this speaker just did not fit the bill and came up a little short. Pros: -water and shock resistance -decent battery life -built mic for hands free calling -4.1 sound quality Cons: -lack of a 360 sound -sound quality that drops of as volume increases -bass that falls flat on the higher end

First off this thing is big weighing in at 12 lbs and 21 inches wide. It does have a hidden built in handle to make it easier to transport around. The sound quality is excellent. Even at louder volumes the sound does not get noticeably distorted and still sounds real clear. Terrific bass. IPX-3 rated for dust, water and shock resistance which is great for outdoor usage like by the pool or beach. Rechargeable battery which is rated for 10-12 hours playtime. Built in phone charging is a major plus and the integrated microphone is nice for hands free chatting. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless and is good for 100 ft. range. Overall it sounds great, feels durable and is easy to use. Should last for years to come and is worth the money at this price point.

This speaker is loud, slight distortion at top volume but if using outdoors you don't really notice. Even the lowest setting is on the louder side. Not for relaxied listening unless you are a room or 2 away.

Connecting bluetooth does not always work. It takes a long time to connect. If multiple devices have this speaker saved...the delay is longer. Sound quality is very very good.

Solid sound quality, a line-out comes in handy as well. Our family uses it outdoors regularly, including movie nights in the backyard.
