Very loud speaker with good base. Only negative is the handle to carry it, is very small and awkward. It can be an annoyance to carry

Bought for outside pool party. On my used this and sound quality excellent. Returned two speaker alternate as this worked great.

This speaker has an awesome sound and heavy duty look. The only negative I find is the fact that the Bluetooth range is very poor. It's just matter of 3.5 meters or more when its starts to loose signal, or the musics starts having pauses. However you can go longer distances, just there needs to be no body getting on the way to stop the streaming. Other than that, it is a very good speaker. Sound is excellent and the rechargeable battery makes it even better.

I was skeptical at first , looking at the price , however most of them were thrown out the window when i started playing my music towards it. I didn't have any trouble carrying it from point a to point b because of it's size ( though i wouldn't say portability is it's primary use ) . All in all it's a good purchase . Now i got to see how it will stand against my other speakers

Upon pulling this speaker out of the box, I was transported right back to 6th grade and my favorite "Jam Box" that went everywhere with me. Think the ones you carried on a shoulder, not the behemoth ones that contained an entire rack system. The Nyne X-Series Rock is indeed portable. It is NOT small. It has a handle molded right into the well-constructed, uniquely shaped, soft-touch body which allows you to take it where you go, but it needs space, and you wouldn't want to carry it long. The LED lit controls are bold and simple. The splash proof ports are well executed--this one takes DC charger, no USB charging this beast. The battery lasts a good 7-8 hours. But the SOUND! I was absolutely blown back by the sound this thing puts out. I felt like the Maxell guy in the chair in same year of that old Jam Box. Kids, look it up. Anyway, the bass is amazing--clear and wall shaking. To say this portable fills a room is an understatement. Of course you won't get home theater level sound from a portable, but the Rock puts out great sound for a party around the pool, or a car campout, or just music to clean by on a random Saturday. You won't tuck this in a bag or hide it on shelf, but it's certainly worth the $$ for that level of sound.
