Awesome sound, was everything i was hoping it would be.

This is the perfect wireless speaker for that beach trip with family or friends. This speaker is water, dust, shock and dust resistance. It has a built in charging connection to charge your phone, MP3, also it has a built in mic so you can answer your calls wireless through this speaker. The sound is cristal clear , but don't expect a big bass sound unless you adjust your device music settings. The speaker last about 10-12 hours charged and it comes with different plugs in case you travel to another country with your speaker. The Bluetooth range of 100 feet it's helpful to walk far and still connected to the speaker. One of the good things about this speaker is that you can connect other speakers with the AUX cable included inside the box. There's a button on the back of the speaker that let you check the level of charge on the speaker. This speaker is like the new wireless boom box.

WOW! This is an excellent speaker. Absolutely top notch. Great sound. Durable build. Great functionality. Solid battery life. Highly recommended. Design: Looks great. In black, it looks like something from Batman's toolkit. This will look great poolside, on the deck, anywhere. This is definitely a head-turner/"where'd you get that?". The overall look combines rugged qualities with stylish look. I've dropped it, thrown water on, no problems here! Hopefully that does not change over time. The speaker has an integrated and hidden carrying handle. This was well-designed and helps you get an excellent grip on the speaker. The level of quality is seen throughout this speaker. Perfect for indoor and outdoor parties. Function: Lots of functionality. Pairing is very simple and quick. I had music playing within 30 seconds of taking out of the box. Super flexible connection options. It has Aux in and out (to connect to more speakers, a feature rarely seen on speakers). Has call function with mic to answer calls. Easy to control volume. Includes USB charge port for your device, very useful when you’re on the go. It’s awesome that it has a charge level indicator. Buttons on top to control volume, power, track, and pairing. They are lighted too! Easy to see day or night! Has a proprietary charger, meaning wall plug with round end, not USB. Battery-life did not have and issue playing for 5 hours at max volume, with charge still remaining. I would agree this has a good battery life and has charge indicator lights. I cannot fully confirm the 10hour battery life specs. Sound: WOW WOW WOW! I don't get excited like this very often! The sound quality is top-notch! It has two level volume control meaning you can control output level from your device and then a separate control on the speaker itself. For example, the turning the volume to max on your phone is not necessarily the max output on the speaker, use its own volume control to max or lower (very important to note). There are volume buttons on the speaker, with mute function. The sound quality is truly phenomenal. Vocals are clear, crisp, and with perfectly matched bass! The bass comes through very well even outdoors! That is hard to find. No sound quality loss at max volume, thumbs up! The sound from this speaker is so great and makes this speaker an top purchase. It powered over the sounds of a medium-sized gathering outdoors, covering at least 1000 sq.ft without issue. Very impressive. Overall, I highly recommend this speaker. From sound to design to functionality, it hits all the high points and then some. Everything so far has been great quality. At the end of the day, it probably can't rock a large indoor or outdoor party with 100+ people. However, for most small to medium gatherings or even casual listening over a large area, this speaker is perfect.

I've used lots of different Bluetooth speakers, and this one certainly stands out for a few reasons -- it's portable for its size and durable. It's LOUD! Really easy to set up and use. I'm optimistic about battery life, but I haven't burned through a charge yet! It's awesome that you can use it as a phone charger, too. This is great for outdoors parties, so it will be very busy entertaining me and my friends this summer! And the price for this is really reasonable. Good value. A couple of drawbacks -- for its size, I'm surprised at how light it is, and I think that's why the bass is not as kicking as I'd expect for a speaker this size. I was really expecting some thump or pound to support heavy EDM, but it's just not there. I have a Bluetooth speaker about the size of a tennis ball can, and that speaker has a very very similar range as this one. A couple of technical drawbacks -- the navigation buttons don't control Pandora on my phone. I hooked up a speaker to the aux out, but there was a delay in the sound from the second speaker. I don't know if it was my speaker, I'll have to do more testing, but it's just not cool with the supplied cord. If they were like 50 feet apart it wouldn't be as much as an issue. Anyway -- if you're going to the beach, the lake, bonfires, etc, and you want to bring the sound, this would do it for you.

I wanted this speaker to be used outside for our BBQs and other outdoor gatherings. Its size is very convenient and makes it extremely portable. Battery life is very good. Fully charged it lasted more than 7 hours (rated for 8 hours). It took only a quick minute to connect and performed admirably. Vocals are crisp. The bass is a little lacking but after making a few adjustment to the sound profile, it was acceptable. It can be LOUD which is a plus if you are outdoors in a noisy environment. I was very pleased that it came with all of the connections that would be useful (USB/Bluetooth/AUX). Looking forward to the next outdoor movie night. Would recommend.

Setup: A world-wide assortment of power adapters comes with the charger. While the unit is certainly transportable, it is not something that you will want to take with you while traveling. One country-specific adapter would have been sufficient. The instructions were multilingual to the extreme. A complete set of instructions in each language would have been preferable to having each step was presented in every language. The unit is so simple that setup instructions could be printed on a credit card. Bluetooth pairing was very easy, just hold down the power button for a few seconds and find the speaker on your music source. Controls on the speaker work with my Bluetooth music source (iPhone). Build Quality: The unit seems to be solidly built. I have not tested the “waterproof” claim, but it’s nice to know if I ever use it outdoors. The door to the connection panel has a silicone gasket so “waterproof” may only apply when using the unit with the door closed. The integrated handle makes the unit easy to pick up and carry. Sound Quality: The Nyne has a well-rounded sound signature tilted slightly toward the base. Female vocals are forward enough to be easily heard on well-mastered recordings. There is enough treble to add detail, but the low mids seem lacking. The sound seems somewhat congested, partly due to the compact design that does not allow for effective stereo separation and perhaps due to the materials needed to make the speaker cones waterproof. What it lacks in separation and sound stage, this system makes up for in volume. This speaker will generate all the dB that one could safely listen to (and perhaps a bit more). The auxiliary input is not intended for typical line-out voltage. Using the line-out on my hand-held digital audio player, the lowest volume on the Nyne was much too loud to use. I had to resort to the headphone-out port to use the auxiliary input port. The sound quality using wired input is notably better than with Bluetooth. As with most audio applications, the sound quality is only as good as the weakest link in the signal path.

The Nyne Rock X is an excellent bluetooth speaker. When I say excellent, I mean that it specifically doesn't try to do anything weird with your music. It's is the first and ONLY bluetooth speaker I've owned that provides a nice flat sound profile. It can do that because it has the guts behind it to really push great sound out. In fact when I first turned it on, I thought something was wrong. I'm so used to hearing muddy bass heavy sound from every BT speaker, hearing a clean clear sound from a speaker was jolting. But don't worry this speaker has plenty of bass chops! Every other BT speaker tends to over emphasize the bass at low volumes. This leaves a muddy feeling sound at all but the highest volumes, and most tend to lose their muster at that point. The Nyne is different. It might sound weak to some because it doesn't have an overemphasized sound profile, but trust me, it has the power to really hit notes. If you want an overemphasized sound profile (which can be beneficial when listening at lower volumes), most phones/tablets have an equalizer available (iPhone does in settings FYI). The Nyne has some interesting features, but the beauty of the device is really its simplicity. There is no app, there is no fancy equalizer built in. However there is a panel on the back with a door, when opened reveals a 5 LED battery gauge, a USB port w/ 1AMP output (charging only), and both line-in and line-out (which would allow you to daisy chain these bad boys together). The top has buttons for common functions that are pretty self-explanatory. However one downside is there are no audio tuning capabilities on board. Bluetooth range is excellent line of sight. I had some choppiness when I had to walk on the other side of a metal door around 20ft away for instance. Otherwise audio fidelity was great. The Nyne speak is a really great speaker for groups and outdoor usage. My biggest criticism is no built in equalizer for audio tuning (or really any tuning at all). It has a wonderfully clean sound profile with a flat response with audiophiles will appreciate. At lower volumes, you'll want to use an equalizer on your device, but if you have a party or large event this is a surprisingly capable speaker.

This is definitely not your typical bluetooth speaker. This is a bluetooth speaker on steroids! It's definitely the size of something like an old school boombox...and puts out just about as much sound. I have to say I was shocked at just how loud this thing actually got...and I never even had it at its full volume! This would definitely be the perfect summer companion. It would easily fill your outdoor parties with lots of sound. Since its splash / dust / shock resistant it would even be great to take out on the lake with you on your boat and you wouldn't have to worry about it getting a little wet or knocked around. The build quality is pretty solid. Feels like its mostly plastic with that rubberized coating so you can get a good grip on it. I definitely wouldn't worry about it being banged around a little bit, im sure it can take it. The controls are very easy and straightforward. Power button, phone button, play/pause, back and next track. Everything you find on 99% of the bluetooth speakers out today. On the back you have charging, and audio input jacks as well as a button that shows your battery life. No major bells and whistles, but it works very well for what it is. The sound quality is very decent. Not audiophile quality, a little lacking on the bass end, but it will do the trick for your outdoor parties or any large spaces that you want some music playing. It's also great that its rechargeable and the battery lasted about what they said it will...so it will easily get you through 6-8 hours of normal playback on a full charge. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a portable audio solution where you need some good volume. Like I said, it would be great for outdoor parties, around the campfire, out on the boat, or even indoors too as your everyday bluetooth speaker, although it might be a little big for that.

I have used this speaker extensively and can say this is probably one of the best backyard/campsite bluetooth speaker on the market. I especially like the ability to charge phones with the USB. The battery life is very long especially when you heard the sound that this speaker produces. It is quite large but after you hear it and look at the options including being waterproof I think you will be very happy with your purchase. I am looking to get another one as they can work together.

I used the Bluetooth speaker twice and it stopped working. I still had the box considering it broke the same week I used it. I couldn't return it and I am upset considering I only used twice. Had trouble connecting to it which was another issue.

It is great for the most part. But you have to be fairly close to it. We keep it by the pool and it just isn’t as loud or clear as I thought it should be. Besides that it seems well made.

I purchased both the 16 inch Rebel and the 21 inch Rock. One thing that was confusing to me is that the Rebel is listed as a 2.1. This means it sends different sound to 3 total channels (right, left and bass). BUT, it has 5 drivers. Yes, they both have 5 drivers. The Rock is a 4.1, means different sound to each 5 drivers (front left / right, rear left / right and bass). At least in the stereo receiver world it is like this. I took a flashlight to the grill to see that they BOTH in fact have 5 drivers (or cones). Not really confident that the Rock is really 4.1, or why you would need this on one speaker, but that is what they listed it as. Ok, now to the sound. I found that the sound is pretty similar. The Rock is louder but it is the type of loud that is a little distorted. So if you want the clean sound from the Rock, you would turn it down a notch or two. By that time you are at the Rebels max volume and it peaks out well. I would say that 95% of the population would be content and size / price happy, with the REBEL. In the rare case that you are using this in a large open space all the time you may consider the Rock. But remember that peak out volume distortion. Both units sound about the same at ALL other volume levels. Side Notes. 1) They will NOT both play from the same BT Connection. Not sure if you purchased two of the same Model if they would or not. 2) If you unpaired, to say take a call, the speaker will time out in about 10 minutes. This is a good thing so you don't forget about it and it drains the battery. 3) I have 4 other 10 inch and smaller BlueTooth speakers. The biggest benefit you will have with the NYNE speakers is bass, second volume. 4) can't speak about battery play time, but I would think they have the same size battery, so Rebel would last longer or the same at same volume? . In conclusion, 95% of you should go with the smaller and cheaper REBEL.

For the price it should have been a lot louder. And it was very big and bulky for having very little sound

This thing is a tank! It is built solid, sounds great, and has plenty of nice features! Sound quality is among the best I've heard for a portable speaker. The sheer size of it allows for a full bodied bass but still nice highs for vocal show watching or podcast listening. One of my favorite things is the battery life. I leave this thing on my back porch for days at a time before charging and I watch multiple shows several nights a week. Yes this is a bit pricey, but for the size and sound quality it is an impressive speaker and I'm very happy with it. It is perfect for outdoor entertaining, whether that be with plenty of friends enjoying music or just yourself watching some shows on the iPad.
