Good movie but had to return. Certain 4k disks wont play on the Xbox One S.

Interesting story and good visuals make this a decent movie to watch.

Not to say that this director's previous effort, Tron Legacy, was a bad movie but I do specifically remember not liking, empathizing with or caring about any of the characters in that movie which, by the end, made it uninteresting and forgettable for me. Director, Joseph Kosinski was immediately celebrated for his strong visual style but I feel that his attention to character development and story telling, before Oblivion, were a little weak. Having viewed Oblivion nearing a dozen times now, it's difficult for me to believe that this is the same director. This time out, Kosinski has meticulously yet organically constructed a beautifully told story with tremendous emotional resonance. He has undoubtedly proven that the success of Tron Legacy, though disproportionate in my opinion, was certainly not groundless. A GREAT effort and a pleasure to watch repeatedly!

I had never seen this movie when I bought it. I did like it. Good effects. Made u think ability cloning humans and the implications. 4k is really good. This is a movie that u could watch a few times .i don’t buy movies in 4k if I don’t think I will watch it more than a few times .

Oblivion suffers from too many competing elements, an overcrowded screenplay, and underdeveloped ideas. To swipe a line, "we are not an effective team." And yet the film and its young director have high aspirations, many of which pay off. The production design is outstanding. The world, its invaders and some of the paths the story follows are absorbing. And the cast gives their all, even when the script is lacking. Still, by movie's end, I found myself pining for the film Oblivion should have been rather than mulling over the film that was. With a more seasoned director and a few targeted rewrites, it could have been one of the finest sci-fi masterpieces in recent memory. Fortunately, Universal's Blu-ray release treats Oblivion as if it were just that. With a jaw-dropping top tier video transfer, an equally magnificent DTS-HD Master Audio surround track, and a solid selection of supplemental material (including an excellent 50-minute production documentary and an audio commentary with Kosinski and Cruise), the Blu-ray edition of Oblivion brushes shoulders with the best Blu-ray releases of the year thus far. It may not be a must-own release, but it's certainly a must-see.

Looks great in 4k, very happy with the purchase. Would recommend.

The movie Oblivion looks great in 4k. It's a lot better movie than it gets credit for.

Good movie with good acting and a surprise ending with hope.

I wouldn't tell anyone this movie is bad. But I won't tell you it's amazing either. It delivers an enjoyable story, likable characters, enough flash to provide suspension of disbelief, and even a few slight plot twists. I say slight because they are forseeable, yet they still deliver satisfaction becasue of the quality of actors. I'd like to say that the concept is thought-provoking, fresh, or in some way new and exciting. But it's not. It stays within the realm of the tried and true model of a movie looking to teach a lesson. That lesson? Never assume you know the truth. I personally believe that's a great lesson! And I believe this is an entertaining way to reinforce that lesson. I would definitely recommend you watch this movie. It's a good movie. Would I recommend that everyone buy it? No. But if you haven't seen it, I'd tell you to do so. I love my movies. It's definitely one I'll watch enough to make it worth buying for me!

If you love watching sci-fi then you'll probably love this film. Is it completely original and without weaknesses? No, but it is entertaining and highly conceptualized. The story has some flaws but that can be overlooked because of the sheer "coolness" of the entire piece. Beautiful set design and not all CGI. There is plenty of practical work, they actually built the bubble ship Tom Cruise sits it. They used actual footage of clouds and sky for the scenes in the base/home in the clouds that was projected on screens all around the actors- that right there is grounds for giving this film a chance. Plus the digital cinematography is breathtaking. And hands down the best part is that M83 created the soundtrack. It's lovely and fitting. So if you want to have a good time and you can look past the many plot holes then I highly recommend this film! The blu-ray transfer is great and the extras are highly educational and entertaining.

Movie is crazy, the story is amazing, qacting is on point, dont regret it one bit!
