Surprisingly better than I thought it would be. Oblivion is well crafted and gives us an interesting look into a not so perfect world. Unlike many of the films in this category Oblivion held my interest throughout. Well not a major Cruise follower I thought he did well in playing an all too familiar roll in science fiction films. I liked the storyline and the relationships both within his 'home' base and the outside world where is works. The special effects were really well done and the environments where we discovered each step along the main characters journey with him were wonderful and kept my interest. Morgan Freeman is of course Morgan which is fine but his character's story was short and too predictable for me. There were a few unforeseen left turns in the story which worked but the ending was pretty much a Hollywood ending. I liked it and recommend it to anyone who loves science fiction whether your a Tom Cruise fan or not.

Total mind twister with this take on futuristic life on earth or non earth?!?!

This is a great movie and is a must for your collection. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite movies, I really like the story and the 4K quality.

If you are one of those people whom is extremely turned-off by Tom Cruise then the story here is not good enough to get you past that. Tom is on the screen between 80-85% of the time. Plot points take me out of the story in a hugely dissappointing way but what can you expect from hollywood. Sets and their design are excellent as is the choice of filming location. CG effects and landscapes are very good. Personally I think the story of the desctruction of earth by aliens should be told with mature R-rated material not PG-13. I don't need more gratitous nudity or violence, but a little blood and guts makes you feel bad about what humanity lost. Instead the earth looks gorgeous and peaceful without piles of skulls or remnants of the battle that had taken place, it's like I can't wait for them to come and clean this place up.

An action packed romp with a twist. This guy does not disappoint yet again.

Amazing solid SciFi movie, and with Tom you can't go wrong!!

I absolutely love this movie. While it received mediocre reviews from the critics, they were way too harsh and judgmental because of the baggage carried by it being a "Tom Cruise" flick. I felt it's a superior sci fi epic following the traditions of all the best dystopian sci-fi plots with a nice twist in the middle. It had great performances, effects and one of the best scores I've heard in years. What sucks, really sucks is that the Ultra HD 4K is not a big improvement over the regular 1080p blu-ray. Did they not scan it at 4k? And, if so, why not? Anyways, buy it if you don't have the blu-ray, but you'll be double dipping in a couple years when they release the remaster.
