A sci-fi movie starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. I thought this movie was pretty solid although I am a total sucker for science fiction movies. That being said the acting and special effects are both on par with what you would expect from a big budget sci-fi movie. This version comes with an UltraViolet copy that can be redeemed through CinemaNow, Vudu, and others.

There's something about this film that is just pure top-notch sci-fi. The story, the art direction, the cinematography, everything about this film just feels like a love letter to science fiction. The biggest complaint I have is that the way the plot actually plays out is just okay, but there's still so much to like outside of that.

Great Action/Sci-Fi piece from Director Joseph Kosinski. Tom Cruise stars as a drone repairman assigned to future Earth. The surface of the Earth was destroyed by alien war, so he lives up on the clouds. He discovers a crashed spaceship which has evidence that makes him question what really happened. Tremendous Ultra-HD picture and sound. Future proof your collection and get this edition, which also has the regular Blu-ray.

I enjoyed the movie. Despite all the criticism that he gets, I like Tom Cruz as an actor as well. Although he's showing his age, he was I think, the right choice for this movie. The storyline/plot was far more interesting than portrayed, since obviously most of the $$ seem to have gone to pyrotechnics. Although truth be told, the non-pyro special effects were quite good.

Tom Cruise. Morgan Freeman. What more do you want? This is one beautifully photographed film. It's visually stunning, in a Kubrickian kind of way. And on a visual level alone well worth watching. The post-apocalyptic story echoes others of the genre. Set that aside and enjoy the ride. It's a good story well told. Image and sound quality is demonstration quality. And the disc has enough extras to keep you busy. Highly enjoyable.

In the year 2077, Jack Harper (Tom Cruise) works as a security repairman on an Earth left empty and devastated after a war with aliens. Jack has two weeks left before his mission ends and he joins his fellow survivors on a faraway colony.

Tom Cruise was really quite good in this movie. If you check the details of this flick out on Google search, it helps the movie make more sense. It's a very Dark Movie but the final meaning of the plot really comes to a complete understanding toward the very end. Once that has been explained, you'll want to watch it again and again. Each time it makes more sense. The music in this movie is exquisite. Very pretty.

I am a Tom Cruise fan, regardless of what any headlines read. And I like everything he does. I especially liked the fact that Morgan Freeman was in another futuristic film with Tom...reminiscent of The War of the Worlds. That is my all time favorite! I highly recommend Oblivion for a nice escape from current reality. It is worth your time.

I wasn't as happy with this UHD disc as I was with LONE SURVIVOR. I didn't feel that it offered much of an upgrade from the regular Blu ray copy that comes with it, but since you get both you might as well buy this one because the UHD has Atmos sound that I really liked as well since my husband has those speakers.

No doubt this is one of my favorites with Morgan Freeman in it. If you like SciFi you will love this movie. It also does not hurt that the special effects are unbelieveable. This is definately a movie that you need to watch at least two times if not more. You will see things you didnt notice when watching it the first time.

There are certain names that have become legendarily associated with sci-fi/fantasy classics: Charlton Heston, Arnold, Bruce Willis and you can add Tom Cruise to that list. Oblivion is classic sci-fi that harkens from the Heston era (Soylent Green, Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man) Beautifully shot and superbly acted.

Oblivion was a fantastic movie that captured the genres of science fiction, psychological thriller, and good old fashioned action flick into a single package for me. I really enjoyed the story and the amazing score and beautiful cinematography made it even better. Glad to get the blue ray for my current player and have the 4K for the future.

This title does a great job with HDR and wide color gamut usage. The 1080p blu ray was one of the sharpest I've ever seen. Because of digital noise reduction, the overall sharpness of the 4k image is down compared to the 1080p blu ray. That's disappointing, but the HDR and WCG more than make up for it.

I'm not usually a big fan of science fiction or always a fan of Tom Cruise, but this is one of the movies he stars in that I like. Add Morgan Freeman to the movie actors. Who doesn't like Morgan Freeman? It isn't filmed as darkly lit as some science fiction movies and that may be part of why I like it better than a lot of other movies that are science fiction.

Having seen the previews for this movie, I was expecting more action and actually found myself a bit bored at first. I stuck with it though and ultimately enjoyed it. I think they could have compressed some of the introductory information and fleshed-out the reveal portions more. Overall though, I thought it was a good movie.

A lot of folks let this movie go unnoticed but it is a great sci-fi movie! It has a solid story without trying to explain or over explain the un-explainable (which to me is a big problem with many sci-fi movies and books). If you like science fiction futuristic stories then this is one you should add to your viewing!

I watched this movie a couple weeks ago, so it's not quite as fresh in my mind. The cast is great, with Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. Lots of action, some moments that make you think, but at the same time, the plot is kind of a rehash of other movies, and slightly predictable. I'd watch it again, but only because I already own it.

4K visuals of this movie were really beautiful. The CG effects were well rendered in the Bluray but played on a 4K player into a Samsung 4K TV the visuals were stunning. I had previously enjoyed this film, as I do much of Cruises work. I would rank this film second to Live, Die and Repeat but ahead of Minority Report in terms of plot, pacing and dramatic tension.

This movie is truly great until you get to the end.

Great movie. Already have a DVD copy. Purchased because bought 4KTV and 4KBlu-ray and wanted to see difference between the 4k and a DVD on the new set-up. Since the new set-up enhances regular DVDs I saw no biig differences in the 2 copies. Therefore not necessary to update movie library! Very entertaining. A movie you can enjoy more than once.
