Gary Ross’s “Ocean’s 8” follows Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), the sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney), who’s revealed to have died sometime since the events of “Ocean’s Thirteen.” The cast further includes Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Richard Armitage, and James Corden. In a connection to the previous trilogy of films, Elliott Gould and Qin Shaobo reprise their roles as Reuben Tishkoff and The Amazing Yen. At one point, Bonham Carter claims the Eskimo put their elders out on an ice floe in a callback to “Ocean’s Twelve.” The film moves from the glitz and glam of Las Vegas to the equally glamorous world of art, history, and fashion in New York City, where the 8 plan to steal the diamonds from a famous necklace from Cartier at the Met Gala. The new cast are all fantastic additions to the franchise, with Blanchett, Rihanna, and Carter standing out as the most interesting in this narrative. The others are certainly fun and Ross shows the audience their motivation, but they don’t have quite the same consistent development through the film, which is okay as this is an ensemble heist film. In their respective roles as the mark and the insurance investigator, Hathaway and Corden are equally interesting and offer a nice change from the usual casino bosses in the earlier films. “Ocean’s 8” is a worthy addition to the franchise and, perhaps most important for a spin-off, it successfully stands alone as its own heist film. Think of the standalone Marvel films that may include some references to others in the franchise, but can be enjoyed on their own merits. The story is smart, original, and updates the heist to reflect the technology of today. Hopefully the studio supports more so that the franchise can continue.

I loved the original Ocean movies (George Clooney), and when I heard that a new movie was coming out with an all female cast, I was on board. Besides the heist, part of what makes this movie enjoyable is the cast. The Ocean movies, even the original movie have always been great with combining Hollywood's A-listers, B-listers, and upcoming stars, and Ocean's 8 is no exception. Personally, one of the issues I have with the movie one of the plot twist. It's fairly obvious if you paid attention, and when revealed it almost comes off as a deus ex machina. Overall, Ocean's 8 is enjoyable, and I would not mind seeing a sequel.

I really enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed the others in the series, too. This time they added a relation to the Ocean family, Sandra Bullocks character. The plot, while over the top, was fun. I enjoyed the few twists, though much was predictable. It was the incredible cast of great actors who had fantastic chemistry that pulled off this movie & the heist. I don’t watch movies over often, but thee was enough going on that I think I would watch this again. I particularly loved Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Sarah Paulson’s characters and their acting. Fun, Sassy. Smart. Worth watching!

One of those rare movies where there is no down time. Many will say that’s the sign of a bad plot structure, but why? This movie is pure fun in Ocean’s tradition but unlike the male counterparts, this film doesn’t have a bunch of cooly dressed men sitting around and pouting. For that reason, this almost tv show episode paced movie will be loved by me for ages. We all know the best part of the Mission Impossibles are the heists.

I would watch anything Sandra Bullock is in, she’s an excellent actress. The movie was decent, but not as sharply written as the Ocean’s Trilogy, but still the acting was excellent and I enjoy the steelbook packaging and excellent quality of the 4K. I got this for $10 and you cannot beat that!

Saw all the versions of this movies with George Clooney. This was a fun turn with the all female cast! I purchased the 4k Steelbook and it was an exciting collector edition! Nobody's does steelbook's better than Best Buy! However, I wish they added the 3d versions to these movie packages instead of making it available later for purchase.

When I first heard that this movie was going to be made, I thought of it as just a quick money grab that wouldn't keep up with the rest of the Ocean's movies last decade. Although not as good as those movies, this movie holds its own very well and was very well-cast. As for the physical product, can't get much better than 4k!

I recommend these movies. Sandra Bullock is my favorite in Oceans 8. Mama Mia-Here We Go Again is very nice continuation of the first movie, Mama Mia. Will there be a 3? There are several unanswered questions in this second movie! If you love music, dancing this is a fun movie. It just might get you up out of the chair or off the couch!!1

Even though the main cast & crew is primarily female in this one, it's a great story with interesting characters & a great heist. Only thing that may have made it better would be a little more tie-in background between Sandra Bullocks character as (Danny's Sister) & what transpired between last Ocean's movie & now.

The movie follows in the Ocean's 11 - 13 film footsteps, although it revolves around Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean. Set in NYC instead of Las Veges and features an all female cast pulling off a robbery heist at the Met Gala. The movie is a lot of fun and very enjoyable to watch - good popcorn flick.

I'm not sure what it is about all female reboots that make people lose their minds. Really though all Hollywood does is recycle ideas these days anyway. Nothing is an "original idea." I found This Oceans film to be quite enjoyable and entertaining. So definitely keep an open minds and give it a shot!

I was shocked with all the twist and all the action. At first , I thought it was going to be a girly movie because my girlfriend picked it. But after watching bits and pieces of it with her. I decided to watch the whole movie. I must say, I definitely enjoy a good action movie.

The blu ray I recieved from Best Buy was great...no complaints there and I would always recommend buying movies from Best Buy. BUT I didn't really like this movie, just didn't live up to the Ocean's 11 trilogy that came before it. Otherwise, buy movies at Best Buy!

This re-boot of the wonderful Ocean's 8 movies is very good - not as good as the first two, but re-boots never are - so you must go into these movies with lower expectations. There is a good plot, good twists and turns and an nice twist to the ending! Done well BUY IT!

Pretty good movie! It was nice to see the women doing what you only ever see men doing in the movies, nice change. And I didn't see the end till it was right in front of me. I can see many ending before the final, but I should have caught this one, but I didn't!
