Very good product but needs some improvements.
Graphics is not as good as tethered VR headset.
Can’t connect Bluetooth headphone to headset.
Casting to TV is limited to chromecast , it would be nice to have airplay 2 or any casting through fire stick.
Overall Product great step in Right direction but still far from perfection

Every other week it glitches out, can't turn it off, and screen is black through the lenses. Both lights come on, and it's completely functionless. It is nice when it works, portable which is awesome, but because it has it's own processor, the rendering to the outside is a bit jagged. There's also not enough games for this system, but in time that should be solved. Speakers are ok, not loud enough, but you can use headphones. If the glitch would be resolved I would rate it a 4, but as it is, there's no patch nor no mentioning of it on their site. Just have to wait for the battery to die, and then reboot it after charge is the only way I know how to get out of it.

I love VR and the idea of playing wirelessly was amazing. Unfortunately the hardware of this device leaves a lot to be desired. After owning it for a short time, the left controllers tracking ring cracked from bumping it into the headset while playing.
A lot of people have been having this issue (Google it). I would be wary of spending so much on a faulty product.

I remember my fascination with VR going way back to the time of the Sega Master System when it had the 3D glasses. It was clunky but cool at the same time. Well it wasn't really VR but to have a more interactive "realistic" experience where you are part of the game was how I pictured the future.
Then came the 90s when Sega announced that they were coming out with a VR platform and I was just super excited and waited month after month reading EGM, GamePro, and Sega Visions magazines to see if there was any news or development on the VR. Unfortunately, it faded into vaporware. Let's ignore the Virtual Boy and the Stuntmaster because they were both garbage...
Fast forward a decade (or two) later when VR went mainstream with the Vive, Rift, and PSVR. I was on and off in the PC Master Race so I grabbed the PSVR on launch day and was just amazed out how well executed and easy to setup it was. Plus the PSVR was also more affordable than the Vive and Rift a few years ago. The games were engaging, the experience just draws you in and I was able to do it all CONNECTED to my PS4. I will admit I was scared playing Resident Evil and playing one of my favorite racing games, Wipe Out is a whole different experience in VR. Problem was that:
I had limited space in my game room
It had to be tethered to the PS4 which takes the realism away in terms of movement
Playstation Move controllers, although effective were a bit awkward to use
Now here we are with the introduction of the Oculus Quest which is a standalone VR unit with all the hardware build in. No console, no phone, no PC or any device that it had to be tethered to. A device where I can dive into VR anywhere! It actually sounded to good to be true. Let me tell you this... after using this for a month, I can confidently say that the future is here.
I picked up the 128GB version at a local Best Buy on launch day. I'm sure it was a little overkill and I would have been fine with the 64GB but I didn't want to think about storage running out. Anyway, I took it out of the box, downloaded the app and some games while it was charging, did the initial setup and had some fun playing around with the tutorial.
Speakers are kinda weak but not THAT bad. The headset is very responsive but it does get uncomfortable after using it for long periods of time. However, it was no more uncomfortable as the PSVR and the fact that I can play this without yanking my PS4 or being connected to another device is just amazing. Sure it doesn't have the latest hardware being powered by a Snapdragon 835 (yeah the same CPU as the Samsung Galaxy S8) but it is just so well executed.
Finally loaded up Vader Immortal and then got a low battery warning because over an hour had gone by without me realizing it.
I also purchased and bought Beat Saber. To this day, I use it as part of my morning work outs to get the blood running when I start my day. I've been hooked on the game and it brought me back to the old Dance Dance Revolution days except this is so much better. I just hope that continue to come out with more songs.
Other game that I really enjoy playing is Robo Recall. It reminds of of those arcade shooters like Virtua Cop except you are actually in the game and you grab robots, rip them limb from limb and throw them around. This is definitely a must buy.
A non-game app that I tried was Virtual Desktop. Virtual Desktop wghich is sort of like LogMeIn or other remote desktop apps, but in VR. I even fired out some YouTube videos through Chrome on my desktop but it was a little laggy. You are better off using the browser on the Oculus. Opened up Microsoft Outlook and was able to read through my emails. There a handful of instances where you can play some Steam VR games on a desktop using this, but I personally haven't tried it. I'm sure this application will be a lot better as the continue to develop this.
I wanted to make sure I just wasn't going through a honeymoon phase because I remember being wowed and amazed right when I got the PSVR and now it's just collecting dust, and that's just mainly because it was sort of a hassle getting it setup.
It's been a month and I have been using this every day. Like I mentioned, it doesn't have the best graphics due to hardware limitations but the games are well ported where it doesn't take away from the experience. Games do run smoothly and it's just so easy to just pick up and start playing.
I can go on and on in this review but I can only describe the VR experience in so many words. You have to try it for yourself to fully understand how great the Oculus Quest is. The Quest is not perfect but it has taken me to a future that I dreamed of as a child. What a wonderful time to be alive.

Best thing to happen to room scale VR.

It's the first room scale 6DOF VR console and it works extremely well. After having all the PC tethered dev kits and CV1 I wasn't sold on inside out tracking until I played this thing...and it really fills a void. To me it's half workout gear and half entertainment. The nice thing is the workout stuff is entertaining. Finally getting to play tether free/cordless with full hand tracking has been amazing. The portability with simple setup to make a play space makes it my ideal item to take with me while working on the road. Hotel living for work is no longer just flipping channels when stuck inside. It's been too much fun taking it over to share with friends as well letting new people I've met try it out. The graphics are off course mobile based but are amazingly good for what's powering it all. So no it's not traditional eye candy based 4k console/gaming but it's so much more fun being active and IN the immersion of game worlds instead of watching on a screen. Does it replace the HD desktop based power of a gaming computer?..of course not, but it does a great job with the titles available now. The nice thing is content cost ranges are far lower than the $60 USD that most new games on console and even PC generally are. Content is only going to grow and get even better too.

More comfortable to wear than the HTC Vive or the PSVR. I'm not sure if its because of the fit or because of the lens resolution, but the graphics seem crisper than either of those as well, despite the Vive being connected to a PC and having much more processing and GPU power. The battery in the headset only lasts for a few hours but it charges quickly and can still be used while charging. But the thing that sets this one apart is the freedom to move! With the cameras built into the headset and full 6 degrees of freedom (tracking movement in every direction) I can grab the headset, take it anywhere, and start playing. In addition to all the amazing games, I can just lay in bed and watch Netflix on a screen any size and at any position, I can connect to my computer through the virtual desktop app and work on spreadsheets, or play my pc games, or watch saved movies, I can use the built in oculus browser or TV or galleries to surf the web or stream videos, or join virtual chat rooms with friends. There are already several multiplayer games for those who arent content playing alone. This thing is going to lead to mainstream VR.

It took a while for it to become available, but once I purchased it Best Buy made it easy to pick up curbside. There was a line of vehicles but the staff outside was prompt, and super efficient. A+ for that service and keeping us all safe during COVID-19!
I’m not a gamer so this is a new experience for me. The goggles were easy to set up, and pair with the oculus app. The graphics are amazing, and the free games that you can download to it give you a good starting game point to learn how to use the controllers. Do try out the tutorials, First Steps and First Contact are super fun!
The headset is heavy, though -they could design an accessory to counter balance the weight (I’ve tried some that are available on Amazon but haven’t found one that I liked yet). The battery life Supposedly lasts about 2 hours or so, but I haven’t played longer than an hour to test that.
Overall, a great experience so far!

I purchased my Oculus Quest almost a month ago, and I have to say it was well worth it! My biggest complaints are I cannot wear my glasses with it (I have weird frames), and it is a bit expensive, but it is worth the money. The fact that it is so portable and i am not tripping over cords is amazing! The tracking is very accurate and the library of potential games is massive! I get motion sick some times, but this doesn't make me feel very motion sick (depending on the game). Only 1 game made me feel sick, but all of the others I tried were perfectly fine. It is a great product, easy to care for, excellent quality, and perhaps one of the best ways to get back into exercising thanks to games like Beat Saber and Sports Scramble. You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

Is there better units out there? Yes. The Rift 2, steams new machine, and many of the other newcomers, the catch is all of them tether you to a computer. This thing is wireless and so immersive. You truly have 6 degrees of freedom. I love having people try this in a room and get lost in the experience. I've had a family member in the roller coaster video standing in the room yell "Oh F@#$" as they ripped the headset off. It was too funny. This is a great unit, but being portable is makes it the best experience out there. I've used the Rift, Vive, and Gear VR. THIS OUT DOES THEM ALL. Battery life is great, I bought the 128 and its holding every game in the store with 90 gb remaining. Plenty of space for extra movies or music. Only complaint is the lack of a case. Buy a case for this.

No flying cars, no light sabers, no Hoover boards. 2020 has been a huge let down! The Oculus Quest is the first time I actually felt like I was living in the future we were all told we would have. I can put on the headset and feel like I'm being transported to a different place. I often times get lost in the immersion of the many wonderful games that Quest has to offer. I with the ability to hook the system up to a higher powered PC you can get the top graphics as well! It's like having a Nintendo switch that could plug in to an XBOX and run those graphics. I can't wait to see what the next Oculus will be+

5 star rating for being the only True Full Wireless VR Experience. I bought this thinking I couldn't hook it to my PC. But to my surprise, after watching a few youtube videos, I learned you can actually stream your PC to the headset using the 5ghz Wifi and that is one of the greatest features. Being able to do all my PC stuff on a wireless Quest is way better than my wired Rift.
The one and only gripe is the comfort. Its heavy. Not insanely heavy. But it will strain your neck and head faster than the wired Rift CV1. The CV1 is like nothing is on your face. The Quest feels like you have a phone attached to your head. Its not the worst but it is the only negative I can find to this device. It has some trade off though because its wireless I can use it laying down in my bed which adds some extra comfort due to the fact I can be in my bed laying down all comfy....But ya it is heavier and since its doing processing right on top of your face you going to feel it get hotter than a CV1.
But over all I'm pleased. It does exactly what I want it to do....the price isn't over 1,000 like the other headsets which aren't even wireless...So for that I really enjoy it and will deal with the slight discomfort of it being heavier.
I really wish they made the processing/harddrive etc like an extra phone you could just put in your pocket. That way the heat wouldn't be right on your face and the weight would be in your pocket rather than the headset. Maybe in the future we will see the wireless headsets powered by a brick you keep in your pocket...but for now they glued the thing right to the headset so you are going to feel that weight and heat right on your head...which is the only negative to this unit. So you'll get less time in it....My sessions are generally 2hours....Where as my Rift I would stay in it all day long....
But hey you are getting complete wireless freedom and basically at the price of the Wireless Rift Adapter made by some third party so this is a much better solution if you want a totally wireless VR experience.
If you never tried a CV1 Rift you probably will just be so blown away by the experience you won't care about the weight.
But for me someone who has both.....I will say that the weight is the only negative...
Positives include
- Completely Wireless
- Better Screen (Easier to read text, colors brighter, pictures sharper)
- Use without a PC or with PC (its up to you)
- No sensors to buy for tracking...they all come in the headset.
Oh and one more negative is that the sensors are not infra red so they cannot see in the dark. So you can only use the headset with the light on. Thats kind of one more negative but its not really a big one...just leave the light on when you're using it so you can be tracked...
So ya....far more positives than negatives.....but those are the 2 negatives...Weight...and Can't use it in the dark....
Other then that for the price of 399-499 (i got it for 450 from best buy with a 10% off coupon they e-mailed me)...I got the 128gb incase I want to put huge 3d movie files directly on the headset for traveling etc.
Ya decent price...great experience....have to remember its a first of its kind so these will get better with time....But I have no problem being a first generation user to Wireless VR...one of the greatest leaps in technology for computers in a long, long time.

I have been following Oculus VR since their first kickstarter in 2012. Without a gaming PC, I've been on the sidelines, watching YouTube videos of the progress. The release of this untethered headset is the PERFECT entry point for anyone interested in VR. The content list grows weekly and becomes more impressive with every game release.
This headset is comfortable, portable, and surprisingly powerful considering its Snapdragon processor. One round of the demos for Beat Saber or Space Pirate Trainer was enough to warrant the purchase.
Don't hesitate on this one. It truly is the next big gaming tech.

My Oculus Quest: Where do I even start? I am just flabbergasted when it comes to this piece of technology. Every now and then you run across someone who makes a product and they're always so good that they just have the industry on lock with it. Well that is Oculus. Believe me when I say, they got it on lock. I have had other VR sets in the past, one of which I still have and while they were good. Oculus is GREAT! Actually, far beyond that. From the graphics, the music selection, the comfortability of the headset, the sound, the demos (very easy learning), the easy to use controllers, the large variety of games, informational videos, all the way to if you really want to be extravagant and watch Netflix through VR, among other things, you can. Oculus Quest is pure delight. I love the whole worry-free aspect of the Quest. No cords getting tangled, to keep you stationary unless you want to be, no cell phone to use that burns up way too quick, or battery life to contend with. It is everything advertised and more. New material constantly added. The great deals they offer for the games. There is truly never a dull or boring moment. It's something you can use to build a new network of friends, or use with family members. It is definitely something that is all age friendly, of course depending on your parents and what games you choose, and man do you have options. Also, me being a huge fan of VR tech, I knew I would be getting a great deal of use from mine. So when I purchased it from Best Buy, I took a route that would save me time in the future. I went with the Quest that offered more storage. Yes, of course you pay a wee bit more. But it is worth it. All I can say now is, if you don't own one, you're doing yourself an injustice. GO GET ONE TODAY, and ENJOY!!

What makes this VR headset great is that there are no wires to get tangled up in or trip over. Initial set up was a breeze which took about 30 minutes.
Pros:
No costly gaming computer needed.
No wires to get tangled up in or trip over.
Guardian software is plus since you have freedom to move around and prevents you from tripping or running into things.
Can use when charger is plugged in but not recommended.
New games are frequently added to the Oculus store.
Cons:
Graphics aren't as great compared to a VR wired set, although acceptable.
Eye mask on the Oculus Quest VR can't be cleaned properly and can get filthy easily.
Not as many apps to choose from compared to the other wired VR's.
Battery life is fairly good depending on the apps you are using, gaming apps seem to use up much more energy shortening the VR's battery life, with beat saber I get close to 2 1/2 hours of continuous play before needing to plug in the unit.
Hand controller battery life is also decent, using the Oculus Quest at least 4 hours a day for a month, I had to change my batteries 4 times.
Mirroring the device from your smart phone may be a problem for some users, read instructions carefully.
If you are considering of purchasing the oculus quest I recommend that you consider purchasing the following items:
VR disposable cover pads (hygiene purposes and keeping the original eye mask clean)
A silicone eye mask for the Oculus Quest (for comfort and hygiene, optional, I enjoy these so much I have two)
A magnetic usb-c charging cord,
External portable power bank
I originally purchased the quest as a fitness tool (meditation and exercise) , which is working out great for me.

VR use to be a gimmick, and ill be honest watching videos doesn't do this experience any justice. I kind of looked at it as the VR version of the Wii when it came out. This is one of those things you have to wear to get the full impact. It's pretty amazing for what it is and I'm blown away with where they have gone.
PRO's:
*Tracking, response is awesome, watching movies and 360 VR videos is crazy.
*Gaming is immersive and makes you want to get up and move.
*Ability to setup a virtual play area is awesome, and works. just make sure the grid setup isn't to close to things for when you swing punches lol .
*Ability to use with PC, Steam VR etc using Link, and running a hardline connected to the PC.
*Do not always need an internet connection (Oculus games). You literally can break this out on the beach and play the games stored.
*Portability, and ability if needed to run off a usb power bank in your pocket if you wanted too.
*IOS, Android, PC app's
*Has built in audio and microphone. *Voice dictation works great.
Cons:
*Lot of the games feel over priced in the Oculus store and some very short. Add-ons feel nickel and dimed.
*Hand controllers you need to get the gel covers for to keep the battery doors from wanting to slide off during game play.
*Game graphics are in the area of Sony PS2, Xbox 1 generation.
*Feels abut 100 dollars over priced.
*Resolution hurts when dealing with smaller text, using windows desktop etc.
*Need more actively fun work out games.
*It's Facebook owned. So how they handle user data. up for debate.
What you need to buy with this?
*Storage case.
*Lens cover
*Gel hand held controller covers****
*Head strap padding for comfort.
*Rechargeable/or stock up on AA batteries.
